Been using and modding s1 and s2 for long...but i was Always an ericsson user before that, and im kinda in love with the new xperia display and everything else...
So over to the s2, i want to replace also being tired with galaxy,so far i was checking the reviews and found the HTC ONE-X..
So what are your thoughts...should I go for the htc one x,x+ or Xperia S or the acro S?
or any other thoughts?

Hey guys, first of all i want to thank all the developers for they help to make my x10 great. I dont know if I am writing on the correct place.. but whatever, i own a white xperia x10 and i want to change my phone and i am between Xperia x10 arc and Nexus S.. I dont know wich one to choose and wich one is better .. Which u think is better and why ? thanks
Id go for the arc, looks al lot better. And with the unlocked bootloader its got a nice future in terms of modding.
I'd agree, the Arc looks a lot better but out of the avaliable ROMs out there rdannar is coming up leaps and bounds.
He's doing a great ROM as part of X10Project that uses 2.3.4 and is based on the Nexus, but it easy to add the Arc filles that are dotted around through here using xrec like I ended up doing.
Arc for sure! And im not just saying that to be a SE fanboy. But if its possible, look at the galaxy s2 as well. Ive been looking at it more closely lately....and its got that "WOW" factor!

Believe me, it will be worth the wait to go with a dual core phone... The cpu in the arc will be outdated very shortly, better to go with a phone with some lasting power
+1 for sg2 although it hasn't got style but it's got substance, it's the opposite for Arc

i'm currently doing some research for the 14 y/o brother of a friend, whose parents have just allowed him to get a smart phone.
i only ever bought nexus devices and would recommend him the nexus s, but unfortunately his limit is ~180 euro and the nexus s is ~270 euro here in germany. thus i need some advice.
he can't decide between the galaxy ace and the wildfire s. which one would you pick? i'm looking for things like easily unlockable bootloader, stock android and cyanogenmod support. but those things seem to only be found in older, cheaper devices.
what would you say has the best bang of the buck and is future proof and could possibly get cyanogenmod support?

yup, that's my observation so far. there's even an unofficial cm7 port for it.
until i can come up w/ an official supported device in the price class, i'm gonna tell him to go for the ace, or if possible pay 100 bucks more for the nexus s.
Yeh galaxy ace if you want to root it, wildfire s has not been cracked open yet so has very little support

galaxy ace..
samsung updates their firmware fast compare to htc..
I would go with ace.
However i found only one issue where you will need to remove the battery to get it back to work. When you enable the wifi and leave the phone idle for a long time, the screen goes blank and none of the button seems to work. You will have to pull the battery to fix it.

I was just saying that not any samsung phone could "fit the bill" .
Galaxy Ace for sure. It has more support, plus, he's 14, I'm sure he and his friends will care about the looks a lot. Teenagers are very judgmental really.

Well, what do you want from your new handset?
The S II no doubt has an abundance of rom's and that sort of thing. And won't be as badly crippled by the manufacturer as our phone was.
But if you get the Arc, you can rip the sounds out of it and post them here..

the best choice is the galaxy nexus and you will have the latest rom in your phone becase is a nexus(i have a nexus s)

i would have chosen sgs2 no doubts!! some web pages still consider it as the best phone over ios 4s, galaxy nexus,sensation or last motorola razr... yesterday i was looking for thus stuff in google the only one which is better estimated is the newest xperia s, because of its camera, screen and other things... moreover continuing with sgs 2 if u want to root it or flash roms there are a lot of possibilities... if not official ics is coming soon... im thinking of getting it next week if i negotiate well with my phone cpmpany however arc is also good phone and i think sony confirmed it would update to ics too. ohh!! if i get it of course ill keep my 10 mini till its last days

Now living wid s2 plus ... gt I9105p
Had no problm wid xu bt since I got a gift from my father... I could I have rejected...although there is no separate forum for s2 plus.. bt I dun mind since I m loving touchwiz ux...
And I also have a option of cm10.1
I shall be here till I get a new forum..

I wanted to ask that is s2 plus better than original s2?I am too getting s2 after my exams but don't know which one.I read that its gpu is weaker than original s2.And does games run smoothly?

Nope s2 plus gpu I.e. videocore 4 .. is as powerful as mali400mp4
My nenamark2 score is pure 60fps... while s2 original score is abt 56fps..
S2 plus is based on braodcom chipset...and has almost no developer support..
Bt s2 plus has way btr battery life than s2...
Also newer chipset runs jb more smoother than exynos 4 series (comparing to my bro's note )
Camera quality is super awesome.. clicks within a second ... not unlike my xu that took atleast 4-5 seconds to take a pic...

It has blown me away..the software integrations,many new features & gimmicks just took android to a whole new level..and being a 2 year old phone it's still going to receive 4.2.2 update this July...Samsung does not know how to make a good looking phone but they sure know what to put inside a smartphone... Really enjoying my S2 & the development is amazing... Looking forward to buy S3...
Sony needs to put more features under their android skin.i lik Sony, but they are not at the level Samsung is at now..
