Hi guys,
i'm an italian boy that has a galaxy s3 with a problem: i can't call or send messages because on the screen there is "not registered on network"
i do nothing, my phone is genuine...i didn't try to change rom or to do something...the problem is appared suddenly.
How can i fix the problem? imei code is intact and my telephone operator didn't block my phone or imei...
i know that in this forum there are some topics about this problem, but it is very difficult for me find them...
help me please...i haven't assistance...
thank you
Look for the serial, if it starts with 00000 or something like that, you nees to use Ariza Patch.

If it helps...
...my wife had this problem last week. Phone was saying that it was not registered on Network. Looked around on the net, checked settings on phone and found that if you turn the phone off for a few minutes and back on, it re-registered to the network. Very basic, don't know why it did it, but it's now OK

This is the problem: imei code is ok but there is "not registered on network"
About the other solution, i'm going to try it but i don't think it will work for me..
Is there a final solution? It is impossible that we can't solve the problem..
Thank you all..

I mistakenly flashed the 4.2.2 leak today and am having the same problem now.
After reading this forum, it looks like the phone has changed its IMEI after using ODIN. I now have an IMEI that starts with 0049. Help anyone please?

This is the name of the ROM I installed: ANDROM3D-VZLA-V3.0 Found it under: Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Android Development
But now it seems to be gone that post, but it also killed my IMEI.

I did, with team win, I restored but it still doesn't work after restoring. I too have 0049* as IMEI and the serial number is shown. My baseband is XXUFME7. My phone is brand new LOL. Any idea?
Update:
I fixed it applying this.

Hey man I read that it could have sumpin 2 do wit type of modem mg2 or mg4 try searching about which versions of firmware have which on mop

i got it fixed but i will tell u how it happened to me so u can connect the dots with ur problems ,,
i was on omega rom v49 but i wanted to return to stock and un root (4.1.2) to do some things i had a problem while restoring the cable disconnected but i started the process again and everything worked fine except for the network i couldn't call and when someone calls me it gives him that my phone is ringing and i got nothing (be aware u may have got many calls)
i tried some videos from the youtube and tried ariza patch (i dont no if i did it right or not i choose patch 5 and rebooted but nothing worked ) and flashed some modems but nothing

This worked for me after flashing S4 Revolution ROM V5, thank you i've got my IMEI back.
Disclaimer: I have searched the forums for this answer and found multiple answers that didn't work for me. However, if I missed a topic (because there were plenty of them) that had the answer and you link it to me, I apologise in advance and thank you dearly!
Device: Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i
ROM: Jelly Bean V.3.0 ported for S5830i
I downloaded the ROM and made a back up using CWM as well as having backed up my IMEI number using Toolbox
I cleared the cache and cleared data
Installed ROM, nothing went wrong
IMEI number was not there so couldn't make calls
Couldn't connect to my network because of this
Here's what I've done to try and fix this
Restored the IMEI file using Toolbox, but the IMEI is still blank when I dial *#06#
Used a Hex-Editor to manually input the IMEI but it was showing in the editor.
And that's where I'm stuck. Can anyone help me please?
Edit: I seem to have ticked the 'question' part of the new topic forum and flagged this as a quesiton. This was a mistake on my part. I apologise :S
You might be having the same issue I had while trying to restore my IMEI Toolbox backup.
Check the thread I posted with a solution that helped me -

Good luck

I'm having exactly the same problem, using Simplicity V5 ROM. Did you find a solution? Like you I did a Galaxy Toolbox backup, it says it has been restored but on reboot there is still no IMEI. Seriously confused
Help please.. I've got this fone for a week now..after searching XDA tremendously (and other sites ofc) I cannot come up of any solutions to my problem.. I'm from the Philippines, and my galaxy s2 hd cannot access my sim's network. No signal at all..is says "out of service", mobile network type "unknown" in settings>about phone>status. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have flashed my phone many times with different custom roms and have also tried Galaxy_S unlock app from the play store..but with no luck. Please help. I'm willing to pay to anyone who could help; preferably devs out there who could spare a little time helping me. Thanks, and Godbless.

That's a modem issue.
Your IMEI is fine, back it up just in case.
I think there's a thread about all these for your device's model in the general forum, you can check it out.

ok i think is is a prob with my IMEI..but im not too sure. as ive said above my IMEI starts w/ 358, then it is followed by 11 digits only, and at the end it has / 00. It's not even 15, and it has this wierd / 00 at the end. Is this fine? Also i have checked my nv_data.bin file. its only 56.00 bytes. Is it corrupted?
Same phone same problem.

Hello to all of you 'the valuabe and intelligent' xda members.....
Today i am requesting some of your advice......
Friends every time i install any custom rom on my galaxy ace 5830i my IMEI is undetectable to settings and hence resulting in no sms and voice calls whereas internet is working fine.
In settings IMEI is unknown and *#06# has IMEI blank but apps like GalaxyToolbox can detect IMEI and hence showing the correct one .
So basically i wanted to ask you that is there is something in /system responsible for that may be build.prop. I really dont know the reason hope you can help me.
And also i am on stock kernel

Flash a custom kernel first and flash the new Rom ..
And Build.prop has nothing to do with IMEI number ..
Happy flashing

Can you see correct IMEI when you dial *#06* ?
Your efs is corrupt/patched and won't authenticate with your network. Restore your efs backup or read the hundreds of identical threads on not registered, also the efs sticky in general forum.
Don't bump threads within 24 hours.
reinstall stock rom
Install the official version of rom and will function properly. I went through these problems and solved through reinstall. From what I understand, when you try to install some custom ROM, EFS partition is formatted and lost IMEI
