Hey guys. I'm a newbie and need help as fast as possible. Thanks in advance..
So my problem initially was that since rooting my OnePlus X, I couldn't flash the new OTA patch. Error showing up was "error executing binary".
Kéno40 replied on my post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...2-0-coming-t3300825/post65214913#post65214913 to reinstall recovery. I got the twrp image from the official site for my device and flashed it. Since then, its stuck in Bootloop. Everytime I try to reboot in any mode, it shows up TWRP.
What I have tried -
I've made a backup on my SD but when I tried to go back to a previous version of TWRP and came back to the new, it isn't showing up in recovery anymore. Though the file is still there in my SD card consuming 5GB space.
I tried this command - make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 Didn't work.
I've tried wiping cache/dalvik-cache...seriously, I wiped my whole Internal by wiping /data. Didn't work. I even wiped /system losing the OS and then using the recovery to get it back...still no hope.
So..in short, I'm screwed. Badly. Need help asap.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Please don't ask me why I did what I did, just help me out if possible. Meanwhile I think I'll start downloading OOS 2.2.0 full ROM, just in case. But I hope I don't have to.
Edit : I flashed TWRP both in Boot and Recovery..is this happening because of that?

If you can enter in fastboot mode, flash the recovery from fastboot command. Flash blu_sparks recovery, it's better
seems you can still go to TWRP recovery? just flash the OOS 2.2.0 full ROM.

Obviously...
You told the phone to boot to TWRP by flashing it to 'Boot' and that's exactly what is happening.
Just reflash your ROM and you're good to go.

If you didn't know what you were doing, why ask before doing it?
You always have to flash the recovery .img from fastboot mode via adb. Not flashed by twrp.
Reference thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/discussion-how-to-root-oneplus-x-t3242830
Maybe, just flash from adb the OLD recovery.
From this recovery, reinstall your Save.
Then install new recovery via ADB.
Or flash full ROM, then reflash, VIA ADB, the OLD recovery.
Then same as above. Restora + new recovery.
Boot your phone into fastboot mode, connect it to the PC, in adb directory, open cmd promote, type
fastboot flash recovery twrp. img
Click to collapse
(replace twrp. img to the recovery img you downloaded, and put it under the adb directory). Or you can type
fastboot boot twrp.img
Click to collapse
, the phone will then boot into the recovery you downloaded, where you can flash a new rom. DON'T flash recovery from recovery!
---------- Post added at 03:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:00 PM ----------
And if you want restore the backup on th sdcard, you might need change the storage location to sdcard in TWRP recovery,
Thanks all you guys. I'm back on with OOS 2.2.0. Had to download the complete ROM and flash it through TWRP.
I didn't wanted to download a whole almost 1 GB zip, so I tried to search for the original OxygenOS boot.img to flash it to boot. It might have worked if I hadn't completely wiped out my OS by wiping /system. Plus its almost impossibe to find that file online...
Anyway, had a nice experience screwing things up and getting back up better than before. Had fun. Learned stuff...so probably I'm not a newbie to rooting anymore.
Thanks guys for your support.
Here's the ROM I downloaded (for future reference) : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24389512218017971

Hello! I have a problem during boot into recovery of my Moto E XT1022.
I did the bootloader unlock (with code Motorola) ... all OK!
Installing the recovery TWRP 3.0.0 ... all OK! No error message and successfully installed.
But, When I try to go to recovery the smartphone goes off! (with black screen)
Even if i try in fastboot access in recovery (fastboot boot recovery.img), the screen will freeze in the Motorola Logo.
I therefore can not access in any way to recovery.
I also tried older versions of TWRP and CWM but everything remains the same. How can i fix? Tnx!
Flash stock recovery for once and try to boot into it.
See what happens
put any rom in your sd and flash it by going to twrp
it works

the problem is not enter into recovery.
the first time i have flash wrong twrp. when i enter in recovery, by hardware procedure, in the bottom of screen i read version of twrp.. and is version twrp 3.0.0r2. this is a wrong version!
then.. i do flash from pc, flash operation success.. and ONLY with command "fastboot boot XXXXX.img" , where xxxx.img is name of recovery i have flash before, i can enter in correct twrp.
i don't know why, but i think i can't flash and fix the correct version of twrp. bhooooooooooo!
edit:
problem solved..
i have rename twrp img file in "recovery.img" and i have flash it in fastboot mode by pc..
i have try to enter in recovery with adbo command (adb reboot recovery) and phone reboot in correct twrp version;
then i have try to enter in recovery with hardware procedure (poweroff, volume up + power and release power when appear Mi logo, tap on "recovery") and it work;
and, in the end, i have try to nter in recovery mode by app "updater"
all works perfectly now!

Hi,, i've successfully unlocked my redmi 3 bootloader, and now there's root permission option in security app. I tapped it and confirmation prompt to get root acces appear, i click ok, then my device download something (my assume its root file), and reboot by it self after. Now i have rooted redmi 3 with unlocked bootloader but no superSU installed.
I want to install twrp recovery which is official now for redmi 3, i've read about dm-verity thing in our redmi 3 and still confused about it.
Can i just install twrp recovery thru twrp manager app from play store? If yes, can i go into twrp recovery via updater app.?
Thanks in advance.
you can install twrp by fastboot!

Congratulations you just followed the official method of getting root access successfully, root access is not from SuperSU but from MIUI itself, it's in the Security app.
You can, but the phone won't boot anymore then, because of the dm-verity thingy. So in another word, you have to disable it by flashing a modified boot image, I'm not sure but some custom ROM might have come with the modified image already, but MIUI ROM definitely doesn't, it is certain you'd get a boot loop after flashed TWRP and try to boot into Android again. That's the simple explanation. And yes you can go to TWRP from updater app, it's the same thing as writing 'reboot recovery'.

To get rid off of TWRP you flash Stock Recovery.
I think the correct command sequence is
Code:
adb reboot
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery <STOCK-RECOVERY-IMAGE-FILE>
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
Search for the appropriate Stock Recovery image by yourself. GIYF ...
If you instead want to re-flash Stock ROM then the correct command sequence would be
Code:
adb reboot
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash-all <STOCK-ROM-IMAGE-FILE>
fastboot reboot
Try going back to stock (Fastboot/download mode/Odin, depending on the device)
Thank You!
I have successfully went to fastboot mode and flashed the stock rom! Thank you for your support!! ?? The phone is working now in the Android 7.
BUT,
now if i install twrp custom recovery, i don't know what happens, after restarting to system i cannot boot to system , it just shows the boot animation and just goes off or sometimes it boots to fastboot mode.
then if i flash the stock rom again using the sd card in the the default recovery mode after flashing that stock recovery, it works again.
Also if I install TWRP recovery, TWRP could not install any Roms ! it just says that Updater process ended with error 6 or 7 randomly.
So, how do I install custom recovery and roms in it now?

Assumed the TWRP.IMG you use is the correct one, then there is no need to install TWRP recovery, booting into it is fully enough - this will preserve device's Stock Recovery
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot boot <TWRP.IMG>
The TWRP is booting perfectly! But if I install any zip file i.e ROM or Mods, it says that Updater process ended with error 6 or 7!!
This is the problem with TWRP.
And, if install TWRP in the phone, then restart the phone , if I restart to system, it doesn't work ,just it shows the boot animation and turns off.

This is not TWRP recovery related, but it's related to the Custom ROM zip-file you try to flash: The ROM zip-file you try to flash isn't made for your device.

Hi,
My device is Redmi note 10 and it has A/B partitions. To install custom rom I have to boot the recovery rather than flashing it using "fastboot boot recovery (the recovery file)". But when I try to boot the recovery either with pc on CMD or phone with bugjaeger there's a error which says, "Cannot load "recovery" No such file or directory". Please help me resolve this issue. I really want to shift to custom rom. When I previously booted the recovery it would just boot normally. But one day my phone got bricked while installing a custom rom and as a result I had to flash MIUI fastboot ROM. This issue has started since then. Please help me resolve this issue.
Thanks.

It looks like it doesn't work with you.
Please document yourself before trying to flash a custom rom.
do not use bugjaeger.
Read the first post carefully.
Obviously if you try to install the twrp with "fastboot boot recovery"it won't work unless you rename it like this, best is to rename it "twrp.img"
