Polaris Office.apk - Transformer TF300T Themes and Apps

Hello folks,
I m on CM 10 and looking for Polaris Office.
I searched through all forums and didnt find a thread for the polaris.apk for our tf300t.
So we should change this
Or is there no possibility to run polaris at the moment like on other devices as I read?
Unfortunately I dont have the .apk.
I will put the link to the file right in this thread if someone will give me a hint where I can find it.
Thanks in advance!

I've attached the one of the Bloatpack 10.4.2.13 posted in Scotts thread - and now enough for it, because you're in the wrong section, such questions belong into the Q&A Forum...

You will also need a lib or two from stock for it to work. Don't remember the libs off the top of my head though.

there's no lib in the flashable zip of seanzscreams, so it's implented in hydro, so I can't upload - hope for you that it's included in CM10 :good:

Kingston office is a great office app, I prefer it over Polaris and best of all it's free

Unfortunately, I think it's a bad forum for a thread about an apk.
I think, it's in "Transformer TF300T Themes and Apps", the good place

Do you mean Kingsoft Office?
It's certainly one of the nicer office suites, but the failure to include support for bulleted and numbered lists is baffling to me.
Office Suite Pro is one of my favorites, and recent versions include a handful of common fonts. Also, for $4.99 they'll sell you an additional font pack that includes a whole lot more. The ability to choose from Times, Helvetica, Courrier etc for you document goes a very long way toward making Office Suite Pro feel like a viable substitute for MS Office.

Info Resources for New To Android Peeps

New to Android? Here's some really useful stuff to be reading...
Its Android general stuff as opposed to Hero Specific stuff, which I'm sure will be plentiful on this section anyway.
(But here's a link to the Hero Manual and HTC Sync, just for ****s and giggles http://www.htc.com/hero/m/en/index.html )
First an android wiki
http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page#Magic.2FSapphire
has stuff specific to Dream (G1) and sapphire (Magic) handsets, but a lot of the code stuff might be worth experimenting with to see what is the same, since both those handsets run Android Cupcake or 1.5OS
This thread is on the Magic forum but is a good place for links on allsorts of mods on the Magic which I suspect will be similarly acheived on the Hero.

A general android FAQ here

These sites have info on Android Apps and some.apk downloads if you don't have access to the Android Market.

There you go peeps - Mods can this be a sticky? Cos I'm in the middle of my next adult novel and I can't keep babysitting these guys.... (kidding)

Well spotted. Link removed from 1st post.
Thanks
Dave
If you read the title, this says Info resources for those new to ANDROID and the thread on the sapphire forum has lots and lots of very useful links for anyone using the Android 1.5 OS - which of course includes Hero.
It also quite clearly SAYS its studff for the magic that might be a good starting point for the Hero.
Apols for the Droidappz link tho - my bad...
Daisy xxx
the link to ipmart-forum is allowed ???
I've removed it - I put them on because a lot of apps are free anyway and the folks who have no market access can get .apk from there.
Guess if folks need em they can always google...

Very useful Dayzee. Have had a quick parse, will be looking deeper tomorrow, quite possibly before I go to the pub. You have your vices, I have mine ;-)
Thank you very much for the pointers
The Hero WIKI is looking very healthy now, so that's a great place to start too. Links to lots of ROMS all in one place, as well as Radios and flashing guides - One Stop Shop for Hero Info!!

I wonder if it wouldn't make sense to create a GSM and CDMA sub-forum for the Hero, since there are some marked differences between the models, not limited to the baseband and specialized apps for each network? Just a thought.

noob question
hi dayzee first of all thanx a lot for so much useful information, i've read through the different threads and found that one need to put some zip file in sd card and then restore from there, but i have found and downloaded a rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622 and it seems like official RUU file so i was just wondering what should i do with it, just run this EXE and follow the steps or i need to do some tricks?

Can we get a browser page autoloader?

I'm not gonna lie....I hate having to hit next page while browsing forums...it's bad enough on a computer but even more tedious on a tablet. So my question is would any of you awesome devs be willing to tackle trying to make a page autoloader similar to google chrome's but for our 10.1's stock browser?
I posted this in the dev section because I thought this would be the best place for such a topic. Thanks.

Question = Q&A
I think the best place to ask is in the question forum not in dev

Roger that and thanks.
If a mod will move this it will be much appreciated. Perhaps if we can determine if this is even possible, then it would be better suited for DEV stomping grounds.

Apps on two different devices

Whenever all the issues are resolved with the ASUS Transformer Prime (could be a while) i plan on getting one, my question is can i copy my apps from my phone to the Prime or do i just log into the market on the Prime (i assume it will have the Android market pre installed) and download the apps onto it?
Cheers

go into market on your prime when you get it. then log in with your account that you use on your phone and then just download the apps you want from your list. simples
Ps: i would wait when the upgrade to ICS rolls out before i would buy the Prime
Related to this subject: Am i the only one whos interested in getting the social hub working on the prime? How would one go about that?

get a rom. extract it from a stock rom. transfer it over to your phone install and bingo there you have it. of course download a rom to your pc first then unzip the rom find the social hub apk and transfer it over. or search on google for social hub apk and see what results come up. not sure if it would work or not but hey no harm in trying

Thanks i wasn't 100% what to do,i thought the Prime already got an ICS Upgrade?
I'm definitely waiting until all the major issues have been resolved before i purchase probably a month or two, im pleased to see a representative from ASUS themselves has come onto the Prime forums on XDA and is offering assistance that is very positive to see and sadly i couldn't see Samsung or many other big companies following suit, ASUS i think didn't totally test the Prime properly and rushed the release date due to overwhelming demand and now they are having all these issues, note to companies - don't release a much hyped product until you are 110% you have tested for a considerable amount of time to ensure there are not major issues.

Forgive me for not being technical but i thought it used a lot of the samsung bits of code to make it all work. Its not as simple as copying over the APK, thats easy, i need to know what other files i need to copy too and i just dont have the skill to find that on my own.
Also, shouldnt this whole thread be in the questions forum? Just sayin

New Idea for Guide

Thinking about a guide like say "links to common problems and tuts",
where there is links to every common problem of the forum in those threads. users can post more. so everything is there and its not very messy or long.
op's would get more views and thanks.
Kindly use the vote too.
is this idea good?
I think the stickies already enough (In my own opinion)
I guess we have so many stickies, should be enough

I think the idea is a good one. A bunch of the recognized contributors are trying to do something along those lines, but based on a FAQ. The idea is for most devices to end up with a FAQ with short answers to the common questions/problems. Since the answers are short, they almost always link to a longer guide/tut/resource.
fma965 put one up for the Xperia Play today, it is here if you want to take a look.
Is there any way to share op title or at least have an option for more than person to edit a post? And watch over the thread etc etc.
Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro
I think your idea is not bad but I think I already made a FAQ thread for it You can always PM me or tell me all kinds of your idea to improve it. I'm trying to make it as much helpful as I can and if you put your effort too, i think that guide can be extended to a greater level
Best Regards,
AJ

At the moment no. I think that people have asked for this in General - About xda forum. I seem to remember that it was going to be looked into...but it could be a while.
I don't think you can ever have too many guides as what you may find in one you might not find in another, but as already said it's pretty much covered in the guides/sticky department, and most of the solutions to common problems should be found by following Rule Number 1 anyway.
No offence, but the search tool of xda isn't quite up to the mark.
Quoting a person from the alternative to 10 post rule
Dblfstr said:
Agreed, but it IS an alternative. And I might point out that the search function is not the best. Case in point, I received a thunderbolt a few weeks ago, and while I was able to find what I needed to root it quickly, there things I needed to know that were no where to be found. As an RC, I knew better than to "just ask", but after I could not find my answer (although I'm sure it was here somewhere) I had to pull a n00b and ask. Of course, I was treated like a n00b with the typical "read the OP, search first" responses. NOT HELPFUL.

Google works perfectly, which is why its so frustrating when People say they've searched but not found what they're looking for, because most of the time typing a thread title or their question into Google finds it straight away, or is in one of the stickys they clearly haven't read.

If you were to search it would of popped up a link for ya. If you opened the themes and apps section of this forum, you would of seen "resizable pop up browser for jb 4.1.2"! It probably would of taken less time then creating this thread and waiting for a reply. Try it next time. But now you can click here!http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34348831

hey men thanks for the information, don't you think I was look probably in the wrong place.
I really appreciate the help that most of the people provide here in XDA, but sometimes people assume without knowing if really i look for the information or not.

sorry for the inconvenient of opening a new tread I will sure try to not do it again

You're not really inconveniencing anyone but yourself. You waited almost an hour for an answer. It took me less than 2 minutes to search and type a response. The majority of people on here are helpful, but there are some trolls. I've learned way more by searching and reading then asking. Google search has become my best friend! Some tricks I've learned is to type the model number followed by what I want to search for. An example is type "i717 popup browser" and xda developers was the 4th post. You can limit your search to xda by typing what your searching for followed by "site:xda-developers.com". Even better yet you can open xda, navigate to your device and under themes and apps (since popbrowser is an app) type popup browser in the "search this forum" box. It would of been the first post found! This site is a WEALTH of information! Don't hesitate to post questions like you just did. But save yourself some time by perfecting search techniques!!
Thanks bro
