i have rooted succesfully my sony Xperia Sola (LT27i) and i would like to ask
1. can i take new updates from Sony now?? or first i must unroot the phone and then look for upates
2. what is the purpose of rooting??? what can i do to improve my phone speed and functionality?

I bought an Xperia ray for my Wife.. its Firmware is 4.0.A.2.368... Its giving me option via PC companion and OTA that an update 4.0.2.A.0.42...
I want to Root it... Should I first use DoomLord's method to root the Device and flash custom 4.0.2.A.0.42 Rom or I can root it even after updating to 4.0.2.A.0.42?
I dont want to unlock bootloader at the moment.. Just want to Root with latest 4.0.2.A.0.42..
