Recently flashed a ROM to my EVO. Backed up and everything. Everything seemed to be going fine, until Reboot. And then it takes me to a black screen. Tried different ROMs nothing. Factory Reset, Nothing. All my backups are gone. Anybody got any way out of this?
Edit: I get the HTC startup screen, And then blackness.
I tried searching (as per the "you are a noob" video) and found nothing. Mainly because I don't really know what's happening and how to describe it.
Are you s-off or s-on? What are the exact steps you are taking? What roms are you flashing? You need to give more info. It sounds like you need to flash the kernel, and you are s-on.

Please speak English ...
And they say "We are working under HTC 2nd generation." So yes they are working to bring custom roms to both Radar and Titan.

nice news, cant wait
I just purchased an unlock code for HTC Titan AT&T on Ebay, and first time I input the code and the phone accepted, then it restart and turn on again. I got the signal ok. But everytime I turn off the phone and turn on again, it always ask me to input the unlock code again, and as the first time it success and restart and turn on with signal ok.
Does anyone have the same issue with me?. If so how to resolve this
You're not the only one with this issue. Many people are having it and some info is posted here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485312
I have my unlock code memorized. Luckily I don't have to reset my Titan often...maybe once a month.

I need some help. As in the title, I went dabbling in the root of my Galaxy S4's files and deleted it's stock texting application. I tried to reinstall it and it wouldn't. :crying: I'm a newb when it comes to rooting and modding and what not so any help is loved. I'm using a current 4.4.2 Galaxy S4 on Verizon. No custom ROMs or anything of that nature. It's pretty much stock. I don't want to reflash the stock firmware because I have some sentimental pictures of my girlfriend and me on there and I have apps for Chromecast and stuff like that. I can answer whatever you guys want. Please get back to me to get my stock messenger back on my phone. Hangouts and Textra won't cut it for me. I would love to use my Gear 2 with my phone to text, I can't now. So please help me, guys, the genuineness of XDA!! I beg you!
Go here
Get the odex download.
Open zip, go to system>priv-app. Get Secmms.APk & secmms.odex.
Go into root explorer on phone, to system>priv-app, copy.
Set permissions to both as
Rw-rxx-rxx. Reboot, should be good to go.

I really appreciate this. I can't wait to try it, except that's my only problem. My internet is so slow. I've downloading it for the past 4 hours almost and it still has 17 to go. Do you think you could post just the files I need?? I feel that will be the only way I'd be able to get this fix. Thanks in advance.:highfive:

I did everything you said and it worked. I had tried every variation of that on my own I guess having the odex file was the key. I'm glad you helped me. Life saver.

So to manually do it just push to dev/block/mmcblk0p52new ?
---------- Post added at 01:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:23 PM ----------
Or do you need to delete mmcblk0p52 first?
---------- Post added at 01:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:25 PM ----------
And is it permanent or do we need to do it every time with new rom or firmware upgrade?

Please compare your old partition first. Then you push the unlocked partition to sdcard. The DD command is what overwrites the old partition.
Should be permanent just like sim unlock code. Please follow all the instructions and copy each individual line of code.
DD is a very dangerous command. You could accidently overwrite the wrong partition.
I'd you need any help, please reply on that forum so others can get the same help.
Thanks
confirmed working
thank you !

I'm afraid you post your question in the wrong place. This is supposed to be only for threads of ROMs, kernels etc..
