[Q] sd card stopped working - HTC Rezound

Ok so my 32gb pny sd card randomly stopped working, this happened while performing a nandroid backup on amon ra 3.15 which took way too long (20 minutes or so) after it finished it would no longer mount.
So I tried it on my pc with no luck. I can see what's on the sd card from my computer, but if I click on anything, it will freeze up.
Any suggestions? I wanna try to save what's on it but I'm expecting to lose it, I don't wanna try a re format if there is another solution.
Any advice is appreciated

Have you.tried just formating your card? I know it's hard to bite that bullet if you have stuff saved but that may be your only choice if its not responding.

Nope still haven't formated, I just don't want to lose my photos. Oh well at least I made a backup of most of the pics but ill still lose the most recent ones.
I'm just confused on why it happened
edit: Cant even format the card, strange...

Idea for Loading Roms.

I have been reading the forums and lurking for a while and have noticed a lot of devs stating that their roms may wipe the SD card. I have a million old SD cards laying around from previous devices and what-not. Is there any reason why I can't use an SD card for just Rom flashing, that way there is no other data to lose? Then when the Rom is loaded, put in my other SDcard...? It also eliminates the possibility of accidentally having a stray PH98 in the event you forgot to delete before going to bootloader...
That's what I do. I have a spare SanDisk 16 gig that I use solely for Rom flashing

You could do that, but I believe the devs mean the internal sd. I've never had my external sd card wiped by flashing a rom.

Neither have I. Only when I went through unlocking it.

I've never had anything wiped that I didn't tell it to while flashing either but I find it easier to keep all my roms on one card. And that I don't accidentally wipe all my files if I'm not paying attention.

Reboots problem fix

Hey guys
I just wanted to share this, I've been trying all new ics rom but a I always get random reboots all the time, so I research a lot to fix the problem until I got this forum (don't remember) so I read that if you clean your sd card you won't have more reboots so I did it in have two weeks without a reboot.
I had like 300 apps so I think that was the problem I also deleted then in titanium backup try it and good luck. XD

Hmmm.. Did you backup and then restore your SD card, or just wipe and start from scratch?

I'm not sure how formatting the sd card would help run an ics Rom... Especially since you put everything back on to your sd card. Did you do anything else in combination that may have helped?

"lost" my CWM backups...but not really?

I think I'm too inexperienced to be rom'ing on my everyday phone. I was running Team Objection lf5 and it was great except for google voice and MHL-out. So I decided to play with CM9. Now I cannot revert back to Objection? CWM recovery menu does not see ANYTHING on my external sd card. But when I pop the card into my laptop everything is still there, including all 3 of my CWM backup dates. What gives? I installed TWRP recovery to see if that was any different but it shows my backups as blank too. (Can TWRP even see/use CWM backup files anyways??).
So if the backups are there....how do you recommend I go about regaining access to them? Thank you in advance for saving my butt!
TWRP cannot use CWM backups and when u boot into CWM u should have an option to restore from internal memory or SD card, which is external. Try that

CWM gives me something like "directory not found" both when SD is mounted and unmounted.
Might be that CM9 is having terrible seeing the external. Put the backup on your internal.

This is true, it's only navigating the internal SD. BUT I can't mount the internal in CM9 to move the backups there. I'm stuck right?
No, flash a ROM, then move the backup on your phone, them restore the backup

Got it. I'm in CM9 right now. Got USB storage "working" in that it connects, but while copying my clockworkmod folder to the internal it will cause the phone to reboot each and every time. (4x so far). I'll keep trying but this was an absolute waste of a day.
External has been wonky on CM9, just flash another ROM, preferably tw based, so you can transfer the file, then restore your backup.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Holy crap the whole problem was incompatibility between CWM and CWMtouch versions. Never would have guessed, but then again I know so little that I thought the backups they create would be compatible. Thanks everyone for your help.
CM7 was/is great on my Incredible, but it appears I am not ready for CM9 on the Note. (With the bugs in CM9 I cannot believe people are asking for CM10 already, yikes). Then again, the is on my everyday, daily driver including work phone so I need every little thing to work right.

Question: sd card repair wo reformatting?

I've been on beans 7 since it's release. Have tried all other tw based roms and nothing really compared Imo. Thought I'd give an aosp rom a try. I went with liquid. It was impressed but I wanted my beans back. When I restored my beans nandroid backup, I get a damaged sd card notification. I thought I saw a zip that fixed this issue a while back, but I can't remember what thread I saw it in. I really don't want to reformat my sd card. It's a 64 gb Samsung. Any help is greatly appreciated. If I'm insulting anyone somehow, plz forgive my noobness.

If you're computer will still read the microSD card then you can use this app to recover and backup your files then you can format the card and put your files back on it.

[Q] No service and Wifi Error

I have a T-mobile HTC Amaze running Android Revolution with 4ext recovery. Recently my phone lost cell signal and would not pick it up again. I tried wiping data/cache/dalvik and reinstalling the Android Revolution ROM but the problem is still there. After reinstalling the ROM twice the wifi won't turn on and just says ERROR. I tried going back into 4ext and now it started to give me an error "can't mount /internal_sdcard" when trying to choose zip from sdcard.
Anyone has any idea what's going on?
Thanks

Ok dude I think I know what's going on, then outlook doesn't look too bright either. It looks like your internal sd became corrupted and now it can't mount. So back up your internal sd, reformat, and put your stuff back in and see if it helps.
If that doesn't help I guess you just had a bad luck Brian moment. This internal sd problem happened to me twice already.
For the wifi error, that's probably because you dirty flashed ARHD over a perfectly fond ARHD. You should have just airplane mod'd it for a while or rebooted. When you wipe the cache don't dirty flash the entire rom for one simple problem. When you reboot after you wipe the cache, it just takes a minute to rebuild the 'blocks. '

Well when I connect the phone via usb, it shows up on my computer but none of the files I had show up in the drive, including the zip for the ROM. I most likely lost all my stuff but that's okay. How do I reformat my internal sd at this point?
I tried to do a clean install of ARHD by doing a complete format inside 4ext, maybe something went wrong along the way. So If I can get my internal sd to work, can I format data/cache/dalvik and reinstall the rom? will that fix the problem?
Thanks for your help

Ok the way to format the internal sd is in 4ext. I remember it being somewhere in the wipe section. Choose format sd then internal sd.
Here's a tip when flashing, use format all partitions except sd. This is better than wiping cache then dalvik then data. This method clears of everything but it doesn't touch your sd. This is how to comoletely clean install roms without errors in flashing.
And if after you flash it and see no bars, T-mobile is probably having a bad connection or doing renovations to their towers or something.

Do you mean the internal_sd problem will come back? If so what do you think is the root cause?

No, i don't. I think the cause is the quality of internal not good, and during use that fone, i format it so much.

The amaze has a wacky internal sd I think, in general. Mine got corrupted twice in its life in my ownership. Who knows what journeys my Amaze had been through with the previous owner(s).
