I can't post a link since i am designated a noob.
I am wondering if this will work for the note?
If so it would be pretty cool and i won't have to carry around a bunch of dongles with me all the time.
Anyone tried this. Maybe overseas?

There are attachment that works with note already. Here's the example.

Im in need of a nice Android DEV Device, preferably Samsung and running at least GB, Prefer ICS.
If anyone knows anyone selling one or "giving it away" to a new dev , please let me know!
Galaxy nexus?

Yeah I was looking at it..but the other thing is that its gotta be cheap. :/

Nexus S. It really has a vibrant developing community, it's Samsung, and it's cheap. Perfect Choice

I second this, If I wasn't planning on getting the new EVO this would be my device of choice (besides the gnex). It still holds up spec-wise, it has a great design and it was so far ahead of it's time's feature sets that it really isn't missing anything. Also it just got an official OTA to ICS so there's a vibrant community to support you and/or help you with development. Also since its a few years old now it wouldn't surprise me if you could get a used (in good condition) one for around 150-200$ which when you think about an unlocked phone isn't half bad.

SIII or Xperia S.
I'd recommend the Galaxy S, it's definitely still going strong, and ICS roms (all unofficial obviously) have taken off with aplomb, if you really wanna deal with ICS.
But the GB scene is still strong too. Plus it's cheap (got mine for 150 British pounds), pretty awesome and it didn't sell god knows how many million units for no reason!
Well actually I'm looking to get a GS3. On tuesday

Hi, I was hoping for a little help with my decision. I am up for an upgrade this coming Monday and it works out that I can get an original Galaxy Note for $50 on contract. I can also get the Gs3 for the same price, but I love the size of the Note. So basically is there a lot of development for the Note? Is everyone here happy with getting the Note and would they keep their Note over a Gs3?

Wait 2 more months for the Note 2.
♥★♥ My phablet Galaxy Note ♥★♥
Well my only problem with that is I can't afford the Note 2, thats why I asked about the original Note.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
My reasons for choosing the note over sg3:
Big screen (don't think I could go back at this point)
S pen
This may be weird, but I don't like the button on the front screen of the sg3.
Hardware is fine, even though sg3 is a little bit nicer.
The Rom community for the note is very active.
Either way, you're getting a badass phone

Thanks for the information, I was worried about getting a year-old phone and not having much development for it.
We know the note is a great device.....
And we "think " the note 2 will be a great device ...
Call me old fashioned .... but I like a device with a track record ....and this device has one.
I'd buy it again in a second ...g

I had the same decision and jumped on the Note. It's impossible to beat that price and I don't think the Note 2 will be worth $150 more than the Note 1. I'm also betting that most of the additional Note 2 functionality will find its way into the Note 1. I've gone back and forth between the Collective ROM and the OnlyOne which I understand isn't being worked on anymore. It gave me S-Voice and other SG3 functionality that I can't remember right now. Like you, I've got the TP running the latest CM9 nightly and the Inspire 4G running the latest Jelly Time. The Note is far and away my favorite. The screen is amazing.
Would you happen to know if CM10 runs well on it as well? I really appreciate all of the feedback and advice. I usually leave my phones stock for a month or do, then its flashing time! So I'm hoping the Note had a lot of choices when it comes to custom ROMs.

I've been running PA (found in the original dev section) and it's great, a couple of small issues but the phone is soo smooth. Also there's been an announcement from Samsung that says they'll be putting out an official JB ROM. Personally I love the Note and I'm still not sold on the next one. If you want to get an awesome price, wait for a couple of weeks before the Note 2 is released, you should be able to get it for next to nothing.
As it stands now I can get it for $50, brand new on contract. Thats a great deal I think.

Just my two cents i have owned both the GS3 and the Note and so far i think the note blows away the GS3 it is nice and as quick as my GS3 was.
The thing is huge but after a couple days you become used to it and will not notice its size also the screen is beautiful processor seems solid battery life is good and i pound on my battery streaming surfing the web and playing music and i get a solid 5 hours and thats constant use if i leave it alone it will go the whole day which i couldnt with the GS3
Sound quality for the speaker is so-so but ive come to expect this from phones now when i plug my headphones in the sound is crystal and sharp
Also running CM10 some weird issues but nothing that is a deal breaker all in al i say you cant go wrong
I'll probably hold out on CM10 if JB is coming soon, but thanks for the help. You guys are all making my decision so much easier!

Oh, one more thing. I have heard people saying that the stylus scratches their screen. Is there any truth to this?

I have had mine since march 4. Never had a screen protector on it and use the pen daily. No scratches at all.

Thanks for all the replies and answers.. I am also asking the same question as the OP and this thread has made my mind up!
Got 2 upgrades next month and another in February..
Its powered by Jellybeaned AOKP!
Not sure why Verizon doesn't include earbuds, so I picked some up for cheap on eBay. They come with the Note 2 in Asia at the very least. The are white and have a cool volume control built in. They are nice!
The controls also have another button that when you push it will open some sort of Google voice search. For a test I said "cowboys". You can see the results in the attached screenshot. It will also say the results out loud, e.g. "The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Washington Redskins...".
My question is this: how do I activate this search without having the earbuds plugged in? Thanks.

Thank you! I knew about Google Now, but this looked different. But when I then click the microphone, it's the same thing. Thanks again!

The one that opens up from the mic button is a direct link to Google Search which opens up waiting for your voice input. Same program, different locations

Long press the menu button. It launches Google Now.

That is what came with my note2. They actually sound decent especially if position them properly the bass comes alive. I would be happy if I paid $20 for those. I would be miserable if I paid any money for beats. Beats are OK if you like bass, but honestly they just ruin music in general. There are plenty of good ear and headphones that will play all the way across the music scale for less than $100.

Bc vzw doesnt care about what the customers want. It saved them a buck or two on each phone by leaving them out. They left out the wireless charging capabilities as well and lock us with bloat. And don't allow Google wallet and try to force isis on us. And let's not forget the locked bootloader. Thanks vzw.

So I'm not sure if this is considered an accessory but in my book it is
I just bought the Pioneer appradio 2 and Android connection kit, once I receive the hardware and wire them up in my car I plan to install arliberator which is in the play store. It is supposed to mirror my screen to the appradio as well as the touch function so basically I will be able to use and operate all the apps on my 1X+ right from the screen. Does anyone else have any experience using this setup with the 1X+? The Pioneer website says that our device is compatible. Any input would be appreciated.

C'mon, doesn't anyone on here drive anything besides a bicycle?

Nevermind, I found a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNqhoozfAss
Update: works great and all functions work 100%. Only problem is the phone gets super hot up to 117°F , I tried using screen standby but I can't seem to get it to keep the screen off. Until I find a way to keep my phone from getting baked I'm going to use an iPod touch 4th gen which I bought for the purpose of using it as a beater, I don't want to ruin my beautiful 1X+

Hiya Fella,
It's new to me but seeing as I'm a Ham Radio Guy, I'm interested especially as Pioneer have always been pretty darn trustworthy for many years.
What's the Link to the on their site please and i'll be pleased to parallel you on this one.
Cheers,

I think total was around $380 plus the iPod. Look for seller electric Mart on eBay.
Heat goes up very rapidly, maybe 5 minutes. I think it's the mirroring causing the heat.

I was thinking that 117° didn't actually sound that hot for a modern smart phone, so I checked and found this:
“If the phone is in normal use without playing games or calling for long time, the temperature should be around 37°C or 38°C. But if you use your phone to play games or surfing internet for a long time, it will be normal that the temperature rises to around 55°C.“, official statement from HTC.
55° Centigrade = 131° Fahrenheit
This info was for the HTC OneX, but I'm sure it's applicable for the X+ as well.
Source
I'm sure it'll be ok but I just don't feel comfortable/safe letting my phone get so hot.
