Is it possible to get ICS animations back on JB? Not a fan of the JB animations. I'm talking about how apps/menus/settings open and close.
Thanks in advance.

They have implemented butter. It's presence is noticeable everywhere. However, it's not completely lag free. I get some shuttering once in a while, here n there. Specially while opening dialer, while opening sound and display settings and at the last second of a scroll [in contacts for example]. I guess I'll just have to live with it for the moment as all the roms have this. Other than that everything is buttery smooth.
ICS roms did not have butter, but the animations did great job at making it feel very smooth. I was using XXBLFB before switching to XXDLJ1 and I must say I never felt the rom lagged anywhere at all. Never noticed shuttering or anything of that sort. I'm thinking it was because of the animations, hence my question =\

hey guys, just moved from Motorola Atrix to SGSIII today...i used MiUi v4 on my atrix, and loved it very much...
so my question is there any sgs3 miui like rom?
on the screenshots in the dev area they all look almost the same...
thanks for any answer
Right now there isn't a MIUI rom for the SGS3. ROMs available are either pure Android or Touchwiz based. However now that CM9 is in nightly build status, I am sure someone will start to work on a MIUI port.
Not a ROM, but there is a Miui launcher in the play store.
thanks fellas...now that you say it,i think i'm gonna try and learn some rom porting)) maybe i can port MIUI to SGS3 myself

No app drawer and bad translations everywhere = no bueno.
Its very visually appealing apart from the launcher and the translations tho.

just wondering if anyone's gone back to ICS? I mean its not like we really need any 'performance boost'.. and with jb, we give up smoothness, and flash.. what do you guys think? that last ics release on omega is stable as **** lol. sometimes I wonder why I always mess with my phone when its working perfectly fine heh. I think the only thing jb brings is a expanded notification bar, and that Google Now thing, which looks cool and I feel all techie using it, but really does nothing for me but getting me all excited thinking i have friends thinking I have a notification ..
thoughts?

multiwindow whaaaa? tell me more
It's pretty cool, on the latest version of jellybean for the s3 you have multi window functionality. Basically I can have 2or more apps open simultaneously for instance browser, gallery and messages.
Indie is supposed to be releasing latest omega version tomorrow

Omega v33. multiwindow, but custom themes and mods from previous versions wont work (atleast based on the Q&A that indie posted)
EDIT: I'm still on v13.1 since i've been too busy to upgrade to jb to deal with changes at the moment (that and I want to make sure I get my "red" theme)

Flash player works fine with jelly bean. (you just have to install it from file rather than play store)

1 single quirk... the thread title still has Noe instead of Nov... it quirks me every time I see it..
I'm just about to go back to ICS after weeks of battling with battery life on JB ROMs. I used to have 90% battery left after a day in the office on CheckROM v3.5. Now I'm lucky if I have 70% (with the same apps installed, the same sync/location settings and Google Now disabled). I've tried CheckROM v6, various Wanam Lite releases, AnonoROM, Omega and none can come close to matching the battery life I had with ICS.
Back to CheckROM v3.5 I think....

I agree with you about JB battery life being worse than ICS. But damn, if you finish your work day with 70% left, then what exactly is the problem?

Like I said it's 70% if I'm lucky, and have used the phone very little during the day. A few calls and I can easily finish with less than 40% to last an entire evening.

I'm going back to ICS this morning, just flashed LG1 and I'll apply the OTA LH9 update when I get the phone set up. I love JB, it's beautiful, but I hate watching the battery go down right before my very eyes after getting much better battery life on ICS.

Oh, why would it be so buggy then? Sorry this isn't meant to be a mean comment, just wondering why a newer gapps would cause all the issues in the OP.
Most likely b/c of all the stuff i took out.. It's only the first alpha so its a good start

Hey, just wondering, im currently running the 98.72.8.XT912.Verizon.en.US version of 4.1.2 (then the GSM patch)
and i really do prefer the stock jelly bean lockscreen, especially the 4.2 jelly bean but id settle for the 4.1 lockscreen because im board of the stock motorola lockscreen so any help that could point me in the right direction or tell me its impossible would be great help.
thanks in advance

alternatively you can try widget locker as well. I used to use that coupled with roynam's lockscreen notification widget.
if you're rooted and dont mind flashing new roms, you can try AOKP, CM10.1 or Liquidsmooth. all are using 4.2.2 and are relatively stable with few bugs(camera flash, etc etc). I personally use the liquidsmooth rom as a daily driver with few issues
The bug with camera flash on CM10.1 is resolved with latest nightly (23rd March). :good:

I believe that the kexec versions will run on both jb and ICS version kernels. Best would be to follow the threads closely as this can change from time to time.

no problem! Have fun using 4.2, it's lightyears ahead of 4.1.2 imho!:good:
If you want better battery life, you can try Dtrail's Dwiz Kexec, it's a work in progress, but it's really promising!
anyone know how, or if it can carry the phone and contacts app from the stock rom cm10 of jelly bean? because they work faster and are more visually appealing. thx for your's time

You'd better use random s2 aosp dump, because nexus is 720p and you'll need to rescale apps if you take them from nexus. S2 has the same screen resolution as our device so you don't have to rescale graphics.
