Hello guys. I was nokia user since 6 years & I'm new on android. I just want to take information there are many file managers which have attribute option to modified any file.... i.e to hide files simply on their original path whatever the files stored anywhere but in android, there are also many file browser but these don't have attribute option to hide, mean there is only every separate application to hide files. It does not matter but the issue is that these applications hide the applications as well as it also moves the the files from its original path which i don't like. Can any kind man tell me the any file browser with attribute option to hide files or any hide application without moving the files. Thanx a lot for reading & suggestions.
Use root explorer...to hide a file in android simply put a (.) Before the file name..without the brackets..itll hide itself without changing its location but in root explorer ull havta go into the preference and uncheck show hidden files also!

if you're using touchwiz launcher if you press menu there is a 'hide applications' option where you choose which ones you'd like to hide from the app drawer (if that's what you're talking about - not sure when you say hide 'files')

Hide files, make them invisible from a normal directory listing. The answer is correctly given above.

2. How to format my phone (2 methods).
3. How to Hide File or Folder without application.
4. General profile mood to silent mood vice versa.
5. Start or end the Call pressing Button.
6. How to Root My Phone.
7. Track your lost phone.
8. How to Force Restart – Reboot my phone.
9. What is my Android version.
10. What to do when application doesn’t work.

Sorry, I don't even know how to describe (in the title) wat I'm asking but:
I have custom LP 'Dock' and 'Icon' images on my SDcard (thnx 'bad4u6669') that I'd like to use to replace the stock LPplus images.
So if possible, how can I accomplish this? Can I just move them to 'LP' itself (thus replacing current options/files) or add them? And how do I locate/navigate to those files?
Would I use "Root Explorer" or "ADB"? (currently am try'n to learn "adb." I tried installing "setCPU" from "Android-sdk-windows/platform-tools" and "SDK" said it: "can't find 'setcpu.apk' to install" it.)

You can change that in the settings for LP. .apk is the file extension for programs for our phone, not LP.
No. I want to change/CUSTOMIZE options inside LP.
i.e.:replace stock dock n icon options w/ custom dock n icon options.
Like u'd see in a custom ROM, so that when I go into pref.s n appearance in LP to select a dock (say...froyo wide) instead of seeing the stock I'll see my custom dock.

I'm soooo sick of pressing a million buttons just to test different icons n such.
Note: I'd rather add options than replace them. Also I realize the the solution's Polly too difficult for me to accomplish as hastily as I would please.

Get a free app called Desktop Visualizer. That allows you to use your images for docks and icons.

Just to clarify, I do know how to set custom icons n docks in LP. I want to add and/or change the default icons n dock options inside of LP itself.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Do you mean change the icons and shortcuts they link to? If so that is the app for it.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
I don't know. Will it let me create a custom dock and set it as the default option for say..."froyo wide" as opposed to the stock "froyo wide"?
I want to alter (as the developers do) the .apk file itself-I'm pretty sure an app won't do that. Tho I don't know.I haven't checked it out yet.
Besides "bad4u6669" already emailed me the answer. Thnx tho. I'll look into soon
No that does the same thing as the 'custom' option in LauncherPro. Like I said, I already know how to set them. It's just a hassle to change bak n forth.
Anyway I guess I'm not explaining well enough but I got the answer n I feel like I'm go'n in circles. Thnx tho

Does anyone know how to move and organize your apps around once it's placed in a folder already? (I'm referring to just using the folder functionality in TouchWiz, not by downloading another app to organize). I can't seem to figure this out...
Hey mate,
1.)
just go into app drawer,
then press menu,
(at bottom you will see folders)
now just put apps you want in it,
then go back or move folder in app drawer.
Sure you then can put the folder on homescreen.
2.)
just press menu on homescreen (with at least one free "case") and choose "add".
- Sure you also can do a long-press on homescreen -
Then you can create a new folder (also by categories)

highly recommended, here is a pic of my home screen.
edit - sorry i just read all your post my bad..........
Thanks for the reply guys, but what I meant was that once there are apps in the folder, is there a way to rearrange them inside the folder? I tried holding the folder down, but that just allows me to drop it to the desktop homescreen.
Apps Organiser (fabio collini) is brilliant and very simple. Probably my second most important app behind titanium backup

Sorry for misunderstanding!
So you can really sort it in folder like you want to do it.
The only chance is putting the files in right order.
So the first one will be top left, fourth top right and last on at last point (dunno how much things you want to throw in)
Hope this is the right answer now

Is there an option to rename the photo/video once captured?
Open gallery and any;
Tap photo > phone menu > rename
Tap on video > tap again (do it's full screen) > phone menu > renameVideo
You can also use any file explorer to rename any file as well. Just Babita navigate to the file (sdcard/DCIM for camera photos and videos), long tap and you will have a list of options, including rename.

What gallery app is that?? The GS3 Gallery app should have icons next to the selections and all of the selections that are in the post above yours. And did you try scrolling down the list?
Just the standard gallery app.
I am using the CM ZOOM rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698273).. if that changes anything

Instructions posted twice previously. And the OP didn't bother to try...... or answer
Maybe try another gallery app from the market? Plenty to choose from, probably better than stock.

Not of your renaming multiple files in the same session
The thread title or OP did not state it must rename with gallery.... (do I gave two options).
So if you must use a "gallery" app exclusively to rename, using a different gallery app to what you have, then your problem will be solved
Please let's us know if it works ok, and then rename thread to [solved]. Cheers

I know that i am probally missing something simple but -
On a S3 how do i put a Excel file on a screen?
It won't let you right click and copy and paste. However, if you select the file and hot control+c the go to desktop and hit control+v it should work

I think he's referring to putting it on the home screen of his GS3....correct?
Yeah
this may or may not work. Also there may be an easier way. I downloaded Astro file manager from Google Store (free app)
Went to home screen, long press and select Short Cuts (I use Nova launcher)
Then selected Astro from the menu
Astro should open and you should be able to browse to the file you want. I didnt have an excel or document to use. I just tested it with a ringtone and it added the ringtone to home screen

I rooted my kfhd yesterday. And I'm loving it, only thing so far is the kindle app for reading my books is restricted in the smallest don't size.
I used to be able to make it smaller than it is now.
I know it's not a major complaint but is there a way to make it smaller since its a rooted kfhd?

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE
But bricking is not likely if you do this right. :good:
Get ES File Explorer from the play store and install.
Open the settings menu and scroll down to the "root settings" (near the bottom of the menu).
Open root settings and make sure to check all the options (grant su permissions when prompted).
Then, back out of settings menu and navigate to root (by clicking the "file up" button).
Open the system file and find build.prop file.
Open the build.prop file with ES Note Editor. (should be an option for ES Note Editor when you click on it)
VERY CAREFULLY SCROLL DOWN until you see ro.sf.lcd_density=xxx.
Where I put xxx, you will see a number like 240 or whatever the stock dpi is.
Now, click just after the line and delete the number (only the number, nothing else) and now enter a number that you want. (try 210). The smaller the number, the more "zoomed out" your screen will look. Stay within 150-300 though just to be safe.
BE CERTAIN THAT YOU DID NOT EDIT ANYTHING ELSE!!!
Back out and save when prompted.
Reboot. And see if you like it. The same process will change it back or to another size. Staying within 150-300 though just to be safe.
IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES.
If you brick your phone, help can be found in my signature.
Good Luck.
