[Q] Please Help Me - HTC EVO 3D

Hello.
I've recently bought an extended battery for my HTC EVO 3D.
Changed from the original 1700 to 3500.
Problem is, right when I plugged it into the phone, it didnt turn on.
The charge light would go on for about 2-4 seconds then turn back off.
I tried using the original battery and still get the same problem
Now the charge light doesnt turn on at all, and the PC wont even read that it's connected.
Is my phone bricked now because of this new battery?
What can I do?
Please help me

Are you sure your batteries are charged?

Try changing the usb cable and the charger...

Yes i'm sure they're charged.
When I took the old one out to put in the new extended battery, it was at about 75 percent.
I left the extended battery charging all night (no charging light on) thinking maybe it was just really dead.
Still getting same results this morning.
No charge light, no turning on.
On either of the batteries and various charging units I use.

Can you boot your phone into bootloader (hold volume down + power button when it is off) ?

Any chance you're using CWM? If so try another recovery... also the battery could be below minimum charge level, which could be solved by an external charger

I've tried all recoveries, nothing works.
I haven't tried an external battery charger because I do not own one.
Do you think I should go into a Sprint store and ask if I could test one and see if that works?
I don't see why because like I said, I put in the original battery and it still doesn't do anything...
I'm so frusterated guys, I just want to use my phone again

Your charger port might of disconnected from your mother board (basically game over), it was a fairly common problem on the OG Evo. I'm not sure if there is a fix for it, you may have to take it to the Sprint store for a replacement if they have one. I don't think they should charge you since it is a hardware issue but im not sure. Best of luck to you man

hello
now the phone is in a boot loop, what i've tried so far
-charging battry for 12 hrs
-hard rest
-flashing different roms
-trying a different battery
-removing sd card when booting
no luck
any suggestions?
thx
Few questions for you here:
First off, Are you in a boot loop with xdandroid or WinMo. If its WinMo check below. If it's Xdandroid try deleting data.img, and starting over.
1.. Did you task 29 before flashing the other roms.
2.. Are you charging from a usb, or wall charger. If you're using a usb, that very well may be part of the problem. Use a wall charger. This has been a known issue for these boot loop situations.
You also may have bad blocks, or another hardware issue. I seriously doubt that though.

Is this the boot loop where the phone starts to boot, and then within a few seconds it runs out of power and turns off, and then after a few seconds of charging starts to boot again and repeated infinitely?
If so, this can be cleared by leaving the battery out of your phone for a long time. Not exactly so sure how long it needs to be, but I did it for a day or two and that worked for me. There is some sort of memory chip in the battery that needs to get cleared out to prevent the phone from trying to start automatically.

After I tried much things to solve it, and that things didn't work, I send my TP2 back for garantue. That was the only way for me to fix it.

External battery charger
This happened to me. The only solution was to buy an external battery charger. I found a universal li-ion charger at the local department store that could be adjusted to charge any brick style li-ion battery.

like i said i dont why it works but it does for some reason. im guessing the power supplied by the car adapter is greater than a standard wall one. also this dead battery issue just started resently for me so i dont know if its the kernel or system ext2
ya the car charger gives you 2 amps while the wall charger gives 1 amp, i thought that this only affect the charging time
I am glad you you were able to get it going. This happens fairly often for me when I let the battery get too low.
The stock charger just doesn't put out enough current. I switched to using my old iGo universal charger. I have tips for all of the family phones (plus a y adapter to charge 2 at once. I can charge fast at home or in the car, and it seems to be able to provide enough juice to keep the phone going even when tethering, which the stock charger can't.

[Q] Battery died during recovery, asking suggestions

I've seen on a few scattered threads about some people having let the battery die during recovery and having to get the external battery charger or try the option that I am trying.
I am wondering if anyone has actually stripped a usb cable, and taped the positive and negative ends to the batteries + and - ends and allowed the battery to charge that way so you could RSD without getting the "Battery is too low for RSD" message? Some threads aren't specific about how long to keep it on for a decent charge or even if it worked so I just thought I would ask, I believe I gave it enough charge to start up, but I wasn't sure how long I should leave it on there.
Thanks in advance!
All I know is you can fry your phone and battery like that
Could try a verizon store, ask them to charge battery for you
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
Yeah, I've heard of people charging using a stripped cable frying their battery after only a minute or two. There's no way of telling when it's done that way. I agree. Try charging it in another X2 or a Droid X....Same battery. I have used my dads original X to charge this thing. Worst comes to worst go to a verizion store and see if they will help you out...
On another note, I thought the phone still charged when in custom recovery?

You should definitely get a external battery charger, 3-5$ on ebay and you never have a problem again

[Q] HTC Rezound not turning ON ...

The battery was too low and I didn't charge it at the night time. In the morning it was completely dead so plugin the charger, the orange charging light turned on once and after that it didn't turned on? Please help.
If it is completely dead it always takes a few minutes of charging time before the orange light shows up. Don't try to power it up until it has had at least 30 minutes or so of charge time.

If it has been on the charger for more than 30 minutes and no orange light, you need an external way to charge the battery.
When the battery is past a certain point, CWM prevents it from charging, which is why we don't use it.

If the battery was dead, it may take 20 mintues or more on a charger before you see a charging light. If the orange LED is flashing when you hit the power button, it means it does not have enough juice to power on. Make sure it is connected to a wall charger, and wait. If you flashed a rom incorrectly, you many have to pull the battery for about an hour before trying to reinsert it. Lastly, I also had a faulty battery initially and once replaced with a new one, worked fine.
check this out its at walmart.

Unlucky! Your phone is dead, the only hope for you here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627882
This happens when your battery is really dead. You might have to leave the charger plugged in for a few hours before the LED comes back on.
However, this is a temporary fix, and it is likely that it will happen again.
I'd recommend you to get a new battery, even if plugging it for a few hours solves your problem. HTC Amazes are notorious for killing batteries. If you look around, you'll see threads talking about horrible battery life, similar random shutdowns, and such that can only be fixed with a new battery.

i tested my battery voltage and it was 3.850, how can it be really dead when its rated at 3.8v? i have had the battery issue before, but it never bricked my phone.
It's not bricked. (It shouldn't be)
Remove the battery, press the power button several times to dissipate any remaining charge in the phone, and then insert a fully charged battery. I'd recommend you using a different phone (if available) to charge the said battery.
After that, it should boot up normally.
And if I recall, voltage is supposed to be consistent, regardless of the charge level (unless it's totally dead, then maybe it's different, I don't know)
It's the current you want to look for.

Yeah that's not normal. You could try charging it, but it's likely that the battery is fried already. You can buy a new battery on Amazon or some similar site. Many people (including me) recommend Anker batteries.

It needs a fair amount of current during boot up, a charger may not supply enough.
Batteries last 1-3 years. I just look at replacing them as part of normal maintenance.
Get it out of there before it fails... any swelling is an Li failure which can cause severe damage.

Try replacing the battery, then go from there.
It may be a dead end but you need to eliminate it as the cause. You could also check it's voltage after a failed boot to get an idea of it's condition.
Fully charge it first... and don't short it out while measuring it. Measure before and right after boot attempt with no charger.
4.3 volts is about 100%
3.9 volts is about 70%
3.5 volts is about 20%
Since it's a no load reading at 100% it should be near 4.3 volts. After the attempt if it drops below 4 volts it's likely toast.
Thanks

Probably time to have it examined. May be a loose connector, a C-port or a mobo failure.
