hi
do i need to chenge kernel file in galaxy s2 to get full performance out of supernexus rom or i can keep original kernel. or it will get automatically changed once i flask supernexus rom.
thank you very much.
A Rom always comes with a kernel. Super Nexus comes with the CM10 kernel, which is good. If you want better performance (but maybe less battery life), you can flash Dorimanx kernel or Siyah kernel (5.0b2)

Is it possible to have blnww with stock cm10.1 kernel? i know that the stock kernel does not have this function whereas siyah and dorimanx kernel have it. possibly stock kernel with that additional feature.
Hello,
Yesterday I got my SGSII. It's my third Android phone and I'm not new in flashing custom ROMs, although I'm really confused how things work between kernels and custom ROMs here. I got stock ICS 4.0.4 onboard (XWLPW). For now, I flashed Syiah v5.0.1 kernel (which is for ICS) with Odin, so I got root and CWM6. I want to install NeatRom 4.4, which is JB 4.1.2 based. So can I just flash it on top of Syiah v5, or should I flash v6 first and then flash the ROM? Or maybe flash the ROM and kernel v6 before leaving recovery mode?
Sorry for this question, but I really couldn't find the answer, have been searching for it for some hours...
Thanks in advance!
you can flash both files while you're on recovery mode under siyah v5 but you gotta flash the Neatrom zip file first before flashing siyah v6 otherwise you'll only have a stock kernel.
Be aware that you have to do a full wipe before flashing them (which means you have to backup your files) if you don't wanna have bugs.
Hi Everyone,
I am currently running CM9.1.0 on my s3 i9300 since that is the latest stable build - at least it says that on their website. I wanted to flash siyah v1.9.1 but found that it is only supported on jb roms. So i tried flashing the older v1.8.6 on it but it crashed. I have wiped and reinstalled cm9.1 but i want to know which is the latest stable Siyah ICS kernel that i can flash with CM9.1.0?
Alternatively if there are none, plz suggest to me which would be the next preffered kernel to siyah in terms of battery and performance that will also work with ICS/cm9.1?
Thanks
Hi all,
I have a galaxy s2, running 4.3.1 thanks to Paranoid Android. However,I would like to flash a new kernel that is supported by PA 3.99. I tried Dorimanx, but I lost root! I searched for many other kernels that Jelly Bean supports, but all for s3, nexus 4 or other phones. These kernels include Faux and many others...
Could someone help me as to how to keep root when flashing a new kernel and any advice about any kernel? (Note:I tried flashing the super user zip but doesn't help). Oh, and, dream kernel, siyah kernel and googy kernel either not compatible with JB or galaxy s2. Help please.
Hi guys! Since I noticed a problem with miui v5 - 4.3.14 and blazing kernel v16 in it (sometimes the phone is freezing at deepsleep) I decided to use stock kernel in that rom on my i9100g. But its pretty slow than the blazing kernel. I tried couple of kernel with no success, just stuck at boot. I'm wondering is there any 4.1.2 JB kernel compatible with miui v5 except blazing?
