Hi guys I have recently swapped from a galaxy s to an xperia u. hardly an upgrade, but just fancied a change. anyway i liked the fact my custom rom on the s had a kill app button, where i could hold down the back button for a couple of seconds and it would kill the current app. i know you can get task managers and stuff but quite frankly that is a pain and i liked such a simple idea. is there anyway to get this on the xperia u?
found a couple of posts on the forum but nothing that really answers my question for the xperia U in particular...

yes i have, and you mean holding down home? yea i see that but its not the same as just holding back to kill the app. i liked that feature and figured it was a pretty easy thing to implement?

Ok so ive someone else post about this before just canteen remember if it was on another forums or not.
Ok so earlier today i was messaging someone and i was trying to get out the message screen but my phone was taking too long or i was just impatient but anyway i kept hitting the home button then i hit the back button and all of a sudden i heard a shutter sound. Sooooo i went into my gallery and there it was a seperate folder just for "screenshots" and mind you i do have the shoot me app and the folder for that is "shoot me". Has anyone else ever experienced this? I thought it was so cool that there is/was a built in screenshot but just wish i knew how to do it again i was so excited!!

I've experienced this 2 times, I searched everywhere in how to do it, but people keep saying they didn't on accident, we need a dev to answer this question
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
this happened to me a few days ago, as well. thought it was a hidden TW bionix-v function. I tried a number of different key presses to no avail. somebody has to know what the deal is, right?
Seen this alot here but no one can seem to remember what they did to make it happen...its weird..
Lmao happen 3 times to me to smh

I posted this same question in the axura beauty thread. I thought it was a special addition to the axura rom. I found out that its not a rom special but its actually an android feature, only problem I haven't got an actual answer on how to access this feature nor do I know what to look for. I have googled this several times and all I get are results telling me about drocap or shootme and how to use the ddms in order to screenshot without root.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I know for a fact how to do this. I don't think you can force a screenshot with any soft touch keys but you'll notice the screenshot goes off when you're exiting an app/browser and the system freezes up briefly and when you try to hit home on the frozen screen it takes the screenshot. It's happened to me on a few occasions and I distinctly told myself to remember what was happening when the screenshot goes off and turns out it always goes off when my screen is frozen and I hit my home key, while thinking my back button wasn't registered and in fact, was registered and I just got impatient and hit my home button.
I've got a feeling it's a bug log kind of thing. Every post I've seen about it mentions that the phone locked up, and the user pressed buttons rapidly. Sure, we can take Screenshots! You have to have a crashing app to do it though.
This topic has been covered soooo many times not only here on XDA but google.

If you have a vibrant running stock froyo.ka6 you can try this screen capture app from the market:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/screen-...tomorrowkey.android.screencaptureshortcutfree
The only one that does NOT require rooting.

Hmmmm it seems like StevenJCarney might be correct. Like he said it seems like it happens when peoples phones lock up & it could be a bug.
Hope it isnt a bug & someone is able to figure it out.
Same exact thing here. It really sucks an app has to crash to use it.

If you have a rooted phone you can just use an app called screenshot which works perfectly. And it's free.

Chances are good you are missing your keystr file. The fix has been discussed dozens of times. Please search for this. I should note you will need to be rooted to fix this. If you don't want to root, you will have to go back to gingerbread.

Then I surely don't know. Try posting your question in one of those two threads I linked. One of the threads DOES have a post that says you need to start DSP Manager before you start Poweramp. But I don't have either, so I'm not really qualified to answer questions on either.

It does nothing more than disabling 3g radio while the screen is off. You can get the same result with many power saving apps
Well i tought it is better than that.Idk i tried a lot of apps from the market and really not satisfied. It is worth to give it a try....

I don't know if I'm breaking a rule, I saw this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969555), but I don't think so.
my question is: "there is a way for free up RAM space, and/or make the phone quicker?" (using stock ics .587)
.. because every time i press back botton, it use about 4 second to do the action. I used a task killer if course.
I'm using this phone about 3 weeks, it is a present, and it was new, not second hand.. so is a little bit STRANGE.
I'm prepared to root my phone if necessary.
thanks for any answer!

"tits"? lol
anyway dont use task killer, it do more harm than good.
root your phone, and use something like auto memory manager to modify android native memory manager value. the auto memory manager is free in google play.
or if u wanna do more just unlock bootloader and flash custom kernel. custom kernel usually have better memory mangement, power mangement etc compared to stock kernel.

so, Auto Memory Manager isn't just snake oil like all the task killers and RAM boosters?
No, auto memory manager just adjusts the threshold limit for the lowest free memory that will be accepted by the os and will only kill tasks if the free memory gets below the threshold limit,
whereas task killers will kill the task irrespective of the threshold limit.

It's been a while since I fixed mobiles but it sounds like a hardware issue. (I have heard this can be the LCD but it sounds more like the motherboard.)
Have you updated the phone recently or put on new apps?
Before trying to fix it - try uninstalling any new apps, a factory reset or if you recently updated the phone, try downgrading it.
Hope this helps until someone gives you a definite answer.

did u use any cpu controller or something..?
looks like your cpu got busy that moment. Just do the hardway with unplug the battery.
Unless it happened many times, you'd better do like what jordan0001's suggest, factory reset or upgrade or downgrade
