if u will find it u dont need to flash it. just replace the file with root explorer or esb explorer. the file is called bootanimation.zip
firstu need to find the stock one and replace it manualy (just delete the one that is there inside and replace it with the new one) - easy thing to do. i cant help u with the stock animation cause i have moded already mine. but i hope some of the guys will post it for you soon.
Stock Boot animation is not called bootanimation zip that is a custom animation .
Stock bootanimation should still be on your phone unless you removed the two bootanimation qmg files .
Zip overrides them if you want stock back just delete boot animation zip

Thanks...i will try it!

I have a rooted galaxy tab 10.1 wifi using stock ics and the A1 kernel v2.1, is their a way to change the boot animation? I've tried installing it to /data/local/ with no luck and even tried /system/media/ but nothing worked. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance!

Its not that easy some times. The system that handles the bootanim is stock and there for not easy at all to change. Its some strange file standard. If you look in the system/media you find some files related to bootanim the file ending is sonething like qmd. You can google on that and try to mod it.
The easy way is to wait for some poor rom cook to change system.

I did a search on what you said and came across this link:
Code:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/15962-ei2romodincwmtweakstock-v14-updated-2712/
. If you checkout the changelog, it says that it changes the /system/media/ directory to where you can just name it a certain thing and it'll work and for this, all you have to do is flash it using CWM recovery. What do you think about this? Do you think it's safe?

Hi
No that rom is for an other unit. Its important to not flach wrong rom.
It need to be supported by the kernel. The creator of kernel A1 knows about this problem with bootanim. And its a hard to fix.

There's no need to flash another ROM,and any ROM contains it's kernel in it's own package, you can go to this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709693
Here you'll see some bootanimations made for gtab 10.1...
Note that flashing these packages doesn't harm you device but may cause issues if they're not made for your version, for example cm9 went into a bootloop or didn't show the bootanimation when I flashed a bootanim...
I wanna start off by saying i am such an idiot .I should have never edited the system files,Now the device that i enjoyed it unusable.:crying:
I can boot into recovery and others but i cant boot into my OS.I was so foolish.
I tried doing factory default and that didn't work now im desperate. All i want is to just use my device again. If any one has any advice please tell me how i can fix my device.
Can anyone make some suggestions on how to fix my device?
Thanks.

Hello all,
I have an old Galaxy Tab 10.1 32GB WiFi only that I seem to have bricked a long time ago. I am able to access fastboot and recovery but the tablet does not boot into Android. It stays at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 logo without going anywhere. So what I'm planning to do is to to re-flash everything including bootloader and firmware using Odin3. The problem is that I can't find those files anywhere and need some help with finding them.
Thanks.

hello,
I was wondering I have a .gif file id like to use as a boot animation. im running 4.2.2 and its differnt than 4.1.2 so does anyone know a program or something I can use to convert?
Samsung roms use .qmg files. Aosp use zip files.
There are threads on xda with the requirements for both that advise which applications you coukd use. Have you read these threads yet?
