Yes,why do u want to create one more thread for this ma8

Reading your other threads,I think you need to make your mind up what you want.
If you are not capable of determining between 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 firmware, then post your firmware and Ill post a link for you to click on........lol

Well erm im pretty confused myself... I wanted to install the 4.0.3 firmware.so i went to sammobile.i downloaded 4.0.3 buft when i flashed it,i it came up as 4.0.4 and im so confused because on other threads they say 4.0.4 has a hardbrick bug. So now i want firmware version 4.0.3

So what i want is 4.0.3, but my current firmware is 4.0.4. How to i downgrade it?

hey dude, if u have siyah kernel and if u flash stock ICS 4.0.3 firmware thro ODIN then the siyah kernel will be replaced with the stock 4.0.3 firmwares kernel and ur phone will be unrooted

Oh.. Okay. Thanks. Btw is aroma installer with the siyah kernel or it has to be downloaded separately?

Isnt aroma installer included in a rom.If so,what do you want it for if your using stock rom.
If your thinking of using a custom rom, then why are you bothering changing to 4.0.3 stock.
Using like the siyah kernel on here you will not be affected by the brickbug as the cap erase is disabled.
This is why you need to make your mind up as youll end up in trouble.

hi whenever i start up my phone when i flashed 4.0.3, it will say android.process.acore has stopped and leaves my phone unusable. what do i do now?

oh nevermind i fixed it. Thanks for all your great help! im on revolt JB now

I thought Im the only one who's been fooled by sammobile. I got the same situation..
I've downloaded all (as attached) and I flashed my device with this ROM; I9100DXLPF_I9100OLBLPF_XME, from sammobile.
It says 4.0.3, but turns out after flashing it, actually is 4.0.4 (About Phone properties).
Im not 100% sure. Is it safe for me to do this steps?
1) With Odin, I flash other official rom from sammobile (I9100DXLPB_I9100OLBLPA_XME or I9100DXLP9_I9100OLBLP9_XME).
2) If the flashing process successful, let the phone reboot (and I don't go into stock recovery to ANY wipe!!!)
3) I just continue use it since data is still intact.
Please warn me if any one of my methods above is dangerous..

On LQ5 firmware. Help please

I am on stock LQ5 firmware & kernel without root.
After hearing about all this stuff about LQ5, I tried to flash Siyah kernel 3.3.3b. But it didn't succeed. Still my phone is working.
But can anybody help me how to get rid of I9100XXLQ5.
Please help.
Just flash a new FW with ODIN. I flashed KH3 (GB) one, because it's wipe and then LPF (ICS) on my GF phone with no problems.
I'm still using LQ5 (everything stock)...best ROM so far

It will not if you use Odin. Just don't use CWM.
You still can root using other than cfroot method if you like.
Using temp cwm just don't wipe while on it.
I'm still on it, but thinking to remove it because **** happens and I tend to forget stuff.
But have to say its the ICS that should be on every S2. Hope official 4.04 start raining soon
keep calm u can save ur phone
flash a 4.0.3 ics release from samsung via odin
and your phone will be safe
stay away from any type of wipe from recovery its better not to take risk
I had your same situation.
I flashed litening 3.2 via odin, so i got rid of 4.04 and i restored a backup
Now im with Neatrom.

choose the correct 4.0.3 stock rom and flash the same thro Odin
Flash through odin. I doesn't matter whether it is Gingerbread or ICS.
But do not use CWM to wipe. You will brick it.
Good luck!

will 4.0.4 brake my device???!!

Hey there ^_^
first of all sorry for my English
I was want to ask about the ICS 4.0.4 for the i9100
Because somebody says that this rom may brake my device...
The problem that I have i9100g and upgraded for 4.0.4 but my friend have i9100 and I upgraded his mobile to 4.0.4 (the united kingdom rom)
so hhahahaha I would pay him if his mobile been broken later
Summary is the 4.0.4 for the i9100 will brake my device???????
Thanks ^_^
and sorry it's the first time I write a thread
It will brick your phone if you wipe data or restore nandroid backup through temporary CWM recovery, but only if you stay with 4.0.4 stock kernel (from Samsung).

If you friend doesn't ROOT his phone, he will never BRICK his phone.
However, if he wants to ROOT his phone or if his phone is already rooted, then he must flash a custom kernel e.g Siyah, speedmod, Dorimanx or dream kernel immediately

You can check if your EMMC chip can be bricked ('eMMC check' app from market) if it is known as INSANE, than it is highly possible to brick it.
But...
You will probably brick INSANE device when perform wipe in CWM recovery on stock 4.0.4 kernel.
If you use stock 3e recovery with stock kernel (even with root) or even CWM but with custom kernel with disabled CAP_ERASE function (all actual custom kernels I know) than your phone is safe.
If you are not sure:
1. Use stock firmware without any modyfications or
2. Use stock firmware with root only but stay with 3e recovery or
3. Use stock firmware with custom kernel (root and CWM included) - optimal sollution or
4. Use custom rom with custom kernel included (I'm still not sure about CF-Root kernel becouse it is almost stock kernel, I don't know there is cap_erase disabled or not - in case you want to use it with CWM) or
5. Use 4.0.3 with... anything you like (3e, CWM, root, stock, custom, dualboot...).

YES IT WILL BREAK UR PHONE , got mine broken last week ,and just got it back from samsung yesterday and it cost me 240 € !!!
just get into download mode and flash siyah kernel.tar via odin , then downgrade to 4.0.3 , and ofcourse dont think about the word WIPEwhile on stock kernel
my phone works fine Cmiui 4.0.4 now put 4,1,1

I think the best idea is to downgrade for 4.0.3 because the device is not mine
But now if I want to downgrade for 4.0.3 do I need to flash a custom kernel first??!!

1. If you want to downgrade, the best way is to flash a stock 4.0.3 firmware via Odin.
2. Alternatively, you can flash it via a pre-rooted ICS 4.0.3 firmware via CWM recovery after flashing a custom kernel

Just download a suitable 4.0.3 firmware, read flashing instructions, and flash through Odin

Yes, 4.0.4 has the brick bug, but that should not stop you from returning to stock.
Download ICS 4.0.3 stock firmware.
Perform factory reset in your new phone
Flash via Odin.

Jes thats waht RR means so im safe if returning to stock 4.0.3 with odin and would anyone be kind enough to give me a link to download stock rom and the instructions with odin
To download the firmware go to sammobile. com, login and select the firmware for your phone and country.
Then in recovery full wipe, format /system and then reboot in download mode. Connect the phone to the pc with the USB cable, wait for Odin recognising it and fhen flash it

1. The firmware you are downloading ICS 4.0.3 is very safe. Only 4.0.4 comes with brick bug on its stock kernel. So don't download ICS 4.0.4 firmware
2. Technically, warranty is already voided, If anybody should flash a leaked firmware, or root his phone.
Brick bug or not, Samsung is not 100% at fault if anybody should brick his device while flashing a leaked firmware or after rooting his phone.
The user has to take his own share of the blame too.

[Q] I9300 Stock ROM, Rooted - OTA JB Update ?

I have a Samsung I9300, I'm in the US, and and on T-Mobile, it has the stock ROM, but rooted with Chainfire's CF-Root 6.4. The S3 has downloaded the OTA Jellybean update, and I have postponed it for now. My question is, can I apply the update ? and then just re-root with CF-Root, or will the update fail?
Thanks
I wouldn't apply the ota as it can fail with any root applied incl cf root. You could update through kies and reapply cf root or flash the official firmware for your phone through Odin. If ya need a hand finding out which official firmware ya need do the following:-
Dial *#1234# into your keypad and post results.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
It shows:
AP: I9300UBBLG2
CP: I9300UBLG2
CSC: I9300UUBBLG2
I believe that firmware is Brazilian but using sammobile.com to check for brazilian versions I dont see a JB update for any of the brazilian carriers handsets or the unbranded version :/
If u have kies you could do the update through it, it updates the same as if u flash through odin and wont wipe anything. You could also use "checkfus" from playstore it should identify your phone and firmware version and allow u too download.
I had a similar problem, and I thought I could try to get Jelly Bean by flashing a custom Jelly Bean ROM. Now I want to go back to stock ROM (flashed custom ROM's performance is awful), so I downloaded the corresponding stock ROM from sammobile, but what I found was a very large (1,2Gb) tar.md5 file and a SS_Dl.dll file.
So the question; is it normal for it to be that big? and, how do I flash it with odin... which thing goes where? which pit should I use? do I put the 1,2Gb file in PDA? should I tick re-partition? bootloader?? Please, help
(Current ROM is DarkyROM III v6.0, and my android phone is a spanish yoigo i9300, so according to sammobile my stock is I9300XXBLFB_I9300YOGBLF1_YOG)

OK, a slight variation on the question:
S3 I9300 on T-mobile, stock ROM, rooted w/ CF 6.4. Can I use Mobile Odin Pro to flash the JB update that the phone has downloaded (update.zip sitting in /cache) checking everoot to keep root, and do the update this way, rather than using kies to update and the re-root?
And if so, what happens to the CWM recovery that is installed, does it get over written with stock recovery?
Thanks
