Then I would recommend using SuperOneClick or Gingerbreak (More info on Gingerbreak) to root your phone. As far as your SIM problem can you give me more information on it?

I insert the Sim card but the phone doesnt recognize it and doesnt give signal,dont know why,it used to read it normaly.
So i download the SuperOneClick and run it normaly?Is there a thread with SuperOneClick so i download it from there?Thanks for ur responses,
i will follow the thread tomorrow cause in Greece the time is 1 oclock at night and im working.pls follow the thread to so we can find answers that might help others to.Thanks again

You can find more information and download SuperOneClick in this thread.
General guide to using SuperOneClick:
1. Make sure USB debugging is on
2. Make sure you have installer the drivers for your device so it can be recognized by the computer
From here:
With your device recognized by the computer and USB debugging enabled select click the "Root" button. (Image obtained from here)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then wait for it to root your device the device will reboot a couple times during the procedure, once it tell you its done and only then unplug your phone from the computer and reboot. After that download Root Checker Basic and run it it should tell you have root acess.
As far as your SIM card is concerned take it out of the phone make sure it's not dirty and make sure the SIM card slot doesn't contain any dirt or dust (If it does take some dust off and blow the dirt and dust gently out of the SIM card slot), then insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot making sure it is fully inserted into the SIM card slot and is facing the proper direction.

Thanks for ur answer i will try on this method and let u know if the phone got rooted and maybe after root it would read my sim card if not i let u know thanks again my friend

[Q] Need Help Root GT i9003 Galaxy

I was trying to follow the steps to root my Galaxy SL GT i9003 "Gingerbread 2.3.6 JPKPE".
I cant seem to get the option in the USB settings that says "Ask on connection", I only have "Samsung Kies" and "Mass Storage" and "Music Player".
Rooting using Super one click isn't working, I guess it's because of the USB settings.
What should I do?

Help required from any body on this forum.
I have the same problem that in USB settings I have only 3 options, Samsung Kies, Media player and Mass storage. No option ''ask on connection''.
I doubt due to that, My trial to root my Galaxy GT-I9003 on Gingerbread 2.3.6 JPKPH using superone click stopped at step #7.
Please find details of my phone:

Now.. If u got your phone rooted then its fine but if not I would advice you to backup your data and reflash ROM, prefrebly DDKP3..
And root through Odin with Bagaria CF root as pda...Alldone!!
Be sure to first flash XXKPE and then DDKP3!!

did you remember to disable your antivirus on your computer and that you have the samsung drivers from this forum installed, not just the ones that auto install when you first plug it up.
Hai
Hello there and thx for replay
Im not using any antivirus atm and i downloaded some drivers but when i wanna load it it wont let me somehow,can u give me the link of drivers plz?
here's a current link pulled from the thread where I got mine http://uploaded.to/file/xeczx9xt the original link was removed.
also make sure you have USB debugging mode ON, on the player, whole process should take about 10 minutes from the time you hit the big root button.
Also just a side note but you really should have an antivirus on your computer, there are WAY to many viruses on seemingly harmless pages to not be running one these days.
Ello and thx for replay i instaled that drivers u provide in link but nothing changed,maybe i should unistal totaly samsung drivers and then just instal that from your link?
Really dont know what to do :s

player should be turned on, just like as if your gonna be using it. The page I got instructions from says to reboot after you finish rooting.
Super one clik wont root the gp with 2.3.6, i dont know why. You should flash a rooted 2.3.6 version.
Enviado desde mi YP-G70 usando Tapatalk 2
You can't root it using the conventional methods because it's 2.3.6. To root that you need an insecure kernel or a custom ROM that's already been rooted. Just google something about the galaxy player 5.0 and rooted ROMs and/or kernels.
If you have international version flash R13 kernel from this forum and then you will root it with superoneclick in 10 seconds ..you will still have stock rom..many people here ask same question every week.
I had the same problem with the same rom. The only solution was to flash rj's custom kernel. I'm using r14 right now, with the stock rom. No problems so far. With rj's kernel, you can root it without any problem.

[Q]can't paste files on some partition like /data , /system and /ext_sdcard

this is weird , i try to copy some files from my internal SDcard to the external Sdcard by using Root Explorer
it keep says "the paste operation failed. it may be that there was not enough free space on the target file system "
but serious , i have 20 GB left in my external Sdcard ... and the file was only 8 MB ..
weird thing is that it happens sometime and sometimes it doesn't happen.
sometimes on /data partition , sometimes /system , like i try to replace boot animation or such .
i tried few ROMs all happens on me as well.
i tried to creat a empty text files .txt , and write something in it and it can be saved. so it just get me confused what's going on :crying:

I faced the same problem before in system folder
and solved it by removing some apps
i have no idea what to do for the other folders .. :silly:
Do you get the same issue if you try doing it with terminal emulator or adb? I wonder if it is some setting on root explorer that maybe limits file size or something. If you use another file explorer program do you have the same problem?

I didn't try ADB, but when I failed to move around the internal and external sdcard, I can manually copy it into PC and then paste it back in...
In other words, I can access (delete, paste or such) from my PC but can't do it with Root Explorer

Of course it does!, if it didn't have permissions, you wouldn't be able to use it! It is mounted with permissions. Linux basic knowledge EVERYTHING has permissions.
Hence my question "Using any scripts?"!
Since you skipped that question, I am going to assume no.
But FYI, no space errors are 1 of 2 things.
1) No space
2) Wrong permissions
So something for you to think about....
You should check output of terminal command "mount" next time you have this error

This was why I say no permission...
I more think about media scan? But seems highly unlikely.
If it is not mounted or permission error ... then why I was able to create empty text files and write save it? this operation does write on it, doesn't it?

Try other root explorers then....

This is the line you want:
Code:
/dev/block/vold/179:49 on /storage/sdcard1 type vfat (rw,dirsync,nosuid,nodev,noexec,noatime,nodiratime,noauto_da_alloc,commit=100,nobh,barrier=0,discard,uid=1000,gid=1015,fmask=0702,dmask=0702,allow_utime=0020,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro)
Which is normal for an AOSP ROM.
A touchwiz ROM would look like....
Code:
vfat rw,dirsync,nosuid,nodev,noexec,noatime,nodiratime,uid=1000,gid=1023,fmask=0002,dmask=0002,allow_utim e=0020,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0
Anyway, you ruled something out there (if you ran this when you got the error)

Yeah... last time it shows error at beginning, and after I reboot it once and now it says error after the paste is completed, with refresh I can see the file in place and md5 checks identical.
That was the line when I got error...
I'm gonna try other files manager...
