Hi!
I started to translate Puzzle Alarm Clock. I unpacked the .apk file and translated the strings.xml file. Everything was OK, but when I packed in the file to .apk and overwrote the old application, the English language was still the default and I can't change it. I don't know what to do.
Please help. If you want, I will upload the files, what I changed, and the stock .apk.
Thank you, and sorry for my bad English.

1. Connect your phone to PC.
2. Using PC locate the file.
3. Copy it on your HDD.
4. Edit.

hello, i wonder if someone would help me out a little bit, a few days ago i started to try modifying the default MusicPlayer.apk on my Galaxy 3.. i extracted the stuff from the .apk with winrar, edited the .png files inside the "res" folder and then repacked all the files to a .rar archive, after that renamed it to .apk and resigned it (i tried even without resigning) but the app wont start..due to this is a system app i know i cant install it from the file manager, but usually it has to begin the installation etc.. i only get something like a parsing package error..any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance..
[sorry if my english is wrong]
Of course it won't start
In the apk there are also more folders than the res-folder, you only see them if you decompile the apk.
But you only have to decompile them if you want to edit ...9.png (eg with that) files, otherwise just extract them to edit and afterwards add them again with WinRAR or something like that
in fact i did extract all files and folders so i repacked all of them again im sure i didnt miss any files, the problem is that i dont know what else the problem could be
danke trozdem für die hilfe help is always welcome
Edit: I found out how to do it open the .apk as an archive (with winrar or something similar) extract the files you want to edit, edit them and put them into the original .apk you wanted to edit (youi open the .apk file with winrar, and drag the edited files and just drop them to the opened archive, and let them get replaced) and done!!
I edited the original MusicPlayer.apk of my Galaxy 3 so that it looks like the Xperia's one (just edited some .png files)
btw here are some screens of my work (till now), but i have so much more things to edit
Hi,
I found a custom dictionary for my language and I just can't get it to be recognized. I unzipped LatinIME.apk and created a new "raw" folder for it in res, there already was the xml layout present in the .apk.
I signed the zip using this tool(mass apk signer) and copied the new apk into system/app and set the correct permissions. However when I go into keyboard>input languages I can still only choose the layout, the dictionary is not available.
But if put my main.dict into and existing raw folder, for example "raw-it", and go to choose italian the dictionary works. However then I don't have the special characters for my language.
So there's some link missing, something to link the newly created raw-hr folder to the layout.
Below you can find the original LatinIME.apk and the main.dict. If someone can fix this for me, I'd be much obliged.
Thanks!

I'm having the same problem.
I'm trying to add the Hebrew dictionary from CM to the stock LatinIME so suggestions and swype would work in Hebrew.
I've pulled the main_iw.dict file from the CM LatinIME.apk and tried inserting it to the stock LatinIME under "\res\raw" where all the other .dict files are and then replaced the modified LatinIME.apk with the original.
This has no effect.
I wonder how CM solved this...
Any luck with your attempts?
