It was my favourite game on the iPhone and was just released on the Amazon App Store for Android today. Problem is it crashes on opening
Anyone got it to work?
Works for me.
Hm... Maybe a re-install is in order.
Nope! Re-installed and it just crashes or the screen goes black
Edit: Are you rooted at all?
I'm rooted and it works fine for me.
Works fine here.
Now I'm annoyed. I'm not rooted and it's not bloody working! Stupid Android
I bet it's something I'm doing wrong...

How did you manage to get the app?? Amazon won't let me download it because of "geographic restrictions"
Or are you using a US-based VPN?
Found another APK online which works! Now hurry up and bring it to the Market, Popcap.

Plants vs Zombies HD that was just released is a Tegra 2-only release. So the SGSII can't play it without CHF3D.
faked a amazon account with U.S address, dled and worked for me
the version that was online didn't work for me either, it kept crashing at startup. i faked and amazon account ( us), since amazon store is not available in my country, downloaded the app from the store and it works very well. oh, the game is smooth, nice graphics, addictive, but sucks the battery like there's no tomorrow. played for like 45-50 minutes and almost 40% dropped.
Yes same here it drains the battery and uses alot of ram don't know why
Works fine here. Faked US residency on Amazon and got it for free yesterday Nice game.
Could somebody upload it to rapidshare, it's not available in the EU, and i can't pay for it. (I would)

This is the version I'm using: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FL3JRZMK
It should be coming out on the Market in a couple of weeks so don't get too attached to that APK as your game save might be wiped if you buy it
Phone Plants vs Zombies from amazone appstore is working (and also the Plants vs Zombies HD ) on SGS II , without any problem.
I used that tutorial as well to access US Amazon Apostore
PVZ works, its not that "HD" version though, just the one from Amazon Appstore for free yesterday.
I joined in the Sony chat today on facebook and they said for current UK users a website will be going live tomorrow where you can get 5 free games, 7 free movies and 6 months music unlimited free ( or something along those lines just in case I got something the wrong way round )
The website in question is www.sony.co.uk/unlimited/tablet
And for new buyers of the tablet they will get a leaflet with it explaining this as well, so they will get it as well
Cheers
Sony
and no they didn't answer my question about root
Thanks. It's working today. got an email for 5 games and 180 days music unlimited and 4 weeks of video unlimited for 5 movies
Does this work for US folk?
it seems this is only for those who bought theirs after the 21st November and for £50 less which is nice. The games are free on the store and so is the music trial but the films you seem to need a voucher for and it wont let you register a date prior to the 21st.
In registration i see only: Spain, Italy, UK, Germany.. what a shame

From the US sony store site, so hopefully this will apply to us too
doesnt work for me
Gutted the way they said on facebook if anybody had bought it before the price cuts they would be eligible, but I guess not
Bought mine in October and tried to change the purchase date but keeps saying invalid serial number, hoping from tomorrow it is open for us early adapters as well and its not a case of ha we have your money, now go away
Just emailed customer support to see what they say as it was implied it would be open to all people who had previously bought the tablet, will update if & when I get a reply or fingers crossed it is open for all of us tomorrow
It looks like it already is on tablet without having to register as free games appear in the play station store, was able to download a 180 day trial app for music unlimted but the video app says update required but cant get it to update... yet and destruction derby wont download... yet
in US got 5 free games
I opened the PS store today, and there was the magic word free beside five of the games available, so far ive downloaded cool borders and destru tion derby with no problems, the others were jet moto 1, hot shots golf2, and medievil, although I thought they were going to do it differently, it looks like im going to be able to download all five aat once, I dont know if everyones came with it, but mine also came out of the box with crash bandicoot, and pinball heros(great game).
I havent tried any of the movies or music downloads yet, I will update with any problems.
I purchased my tablet around oct. 20,2011, & although I thought I had registered when I got it, I hadnt until this week. I also havent checked to see if I actually recieved an email from them either, but im sure I did.

Have a look at the Psxperia project on xperia play forum. The format is the same for both devices, an apk and a data folder, but the native emulator on tablet and on 2.3.4 xperia tablet is blocking the format which worked on it before 2.3.4 firmware. Hope it helps.

Anyone know how to get the voucher for $8 worth of movies?
I havent registered my tablet yet, my account is locked for some reason and I have to call them.
This is more of a general question regarding android...if i am moving from device to device like the nook tablet and other android or android based tablets/phones, where would be the best place to purchase an app amazom or google market?
I am thinking in terms of availability on locked down devices and such....
I would personally say google just beause it's much larger and amazon is much stricter than google as far as what apps are avalible in their market.

All true, however, ironically Amazon marketplace may have fewer issues displaying all applications in the marketplace for your downloading privilege. The Google marketplace has metadata associated with each app that allows publishers to indicate what devices/specs are required to run applications. While this is great most of the time, issues like the dpi setting (see GApps topic) may require you to fiddle with settings to fake the market into thinking you have a supported device to "open" the market.
Amazon does not (at this time) have such metadata which is a double-edged sword. On the one hand you may be able to download an app that doesn't work on your device but, on the other hand, it means you may have fewer problems accessing the apps you've already purchased. Amazon does have a few exclusives (like Plants vs. Zombies) at the moment as well. Getting Amazon marketplace up and running on the NT has been easier thus far (though give it time and I bet Google Marketplace will be working without root soon).
My take? Why choose? I have several "free apps of the day" from the Amazon Apps that I've dl'ed and plan on using on the NT. I have several others I've outright purchased from the Google Marketplace that I would like to use as well. Prices on the Google Marketplace can be more competitive in some cases as well.
Ultimately, it's not a simple choice.
Amazon does that. They blocked other ereaders if you have a Kindle fire. I do have both, the free app of the day is sweet. Google does rule the roost so to speak.
Amazon market and Google market are both very good, you should consider signing up for both.
I also like Amazon's free app of the day. I'm not saying Amazon is better. Most of the apps I paid for are from Google market. If I had to pick just just one, my choice would be the Google market.
I do have both and have purchased from both because amazon has some killer sales sometimes. I was going to purchase an app and was just contemplating what app store to buy from.....sounds like a horse a piece though.
I should probably have clarified my previous post - if you are looking for purchasing apps, my first choice is Google Market. I generally try an app out as a "free app of the day" on Amazon, and if I *really* like it, I'll buy it on Google's Market. Of the 20 or so free apps I've dl'ed off of Amazon, I've kept maybe 1/3 on my device. Several of those will be uninstalled.
I guess my feeling has been that Amazon tends to screw the app developers (do a Google search and you'll see many stories of this) so I like to throw my money at them on Google Market. I keep both because I like the ability to preview an app without the ads. I've actually avoided purchasing "Plants vs. Zombies", however, because I know I would like to buy it on the Google Market when it eventually gets there.
While I don't exactly feel Amazon is "here today and gone tomorrow", they are the new kid on the block, relatively speaking. Google Market is my market of choice for actual purchases. I sure like having both markets on my device, though.
So I kinda have always noticed this since I switched from the Iphone to an android but I really noticed today that alot of big game companys like Taito,Capcom, Square Enix, etc. have been looming around on the Apple App Store for years now and yet they havent really made the leap over to the Android platform, it kinda pisses me off cause games I love like MegaMan X and Bust-A-Move (Im sure alot of you cant relate with those in particular but you get the point) and their company's have made good mobile versions for the App Store, and yet after years of them being on there they never seem to get ported to android. What really blows my mind about all of this is that these said companies actually sell SOME of their games on Google Play. Like i dont get that at all, for example Megaman 2 was released by Capcom on the Apple App Store 5 YEARS AGO and still hasn't shown up on android. Like why sell only a few of your good mobile games to Android users and give the Apple users the whole lot?? I get it that Apple came first as the world's first very popular smartphone and they had the first successful mobile application market, but its been 5 years, android is just as popular as Apple and their store deserves these classics. I say its time to expand your games to other platform users. Besides, dont you want more money???
Search for alternatives
Yeah, it's true that a lot of games are missing in the Play Store, but there is nothing you can do about it...
The best solution for you could be more waiting (yeah, it sucks!) or just playing an alternative!
For Megaman I think that you could play a GameBoy game of it (there are a lot!). Just download an emulator in the Play Store and get the ROM!
For the other games, there aren't a lot possibilities... You could maybe look if there is a PC-Version available!
Have a nice day

I mean I have improvised, for example, there's no bust a move for Google play, but I got a ps1 emulator and got roms of my favs bust a move 2,3, and 4 and I can play all those and they run very well. So yea it does suck, but since GP isn't locked down, I can use that to improvise. So yea, it is stupid to keep good games exclusive to the App Store when these company's can get more money and stop pointlessly alienating other mobile demographics, but yea I know there is always a silver lining.

I'm pretty sure its something to do with devs of the games not wanting to make apps for android because of piracy

My Phone didn't include the Free Games. Any idea how to get them?
Mine didn't come with any games. It didn't come with any 3rd party apps either like Facebook/Instagram. Only Google and ASUS apps. I got it from the Microsoft Store.
WHAT FREE GAMES????, Mine was just preloaded with Asphalt 9 Legends
I think the free games are only in the Asian market.
I bought mine directly from ASUS's eShop. No games
mine preloaded with asphalt 9 and free fire

got mine at a canadian microsoft store, no games preloaded in my phone lol
same, got mine from micorosoft store, no games but Gapps were there
mine was preloaded with Asphalt 9 and free fire.
The only noteworthy free thing I got is the permanent extra 100gb in google drive.
sad that the box doesn't have any free earphones, was looking for free accessories like that
I got mine in the UK this Saturday, It came pre loaded with Free Fire & Asphalt 9 which both got removed within the 1st hour. I agree the Google Drive upgrade is the only thing to care about as the games are not free as such just preloaded for convenience and give you something to play out the box. I Did get a pair of in ear headphones for free ill use them while at work as i can discreetly have on in my ear however not a huge loss if not as i prefer my Sony wh-1000xm2 for audio
You got PERMANENT 100GB? They only gave me a year. ?
