Still waiting for the 4.1 update for my S3.
Checking every day but still nothing, GSM Arena said we would be getting it this week. Now is that a standard calendar week or a Samsung Week?? As most people know these can be much much longer then a calendar week.

I have been checking for the past few days and it says no update when I check OTA updates (can't get bloody KIES working)
I just checked now and its still saying "no updates available"

OTA Updates are not all done at once and are spread out over a few days to help with load. If you can get Kies working this should be availiable.
I'll try it again later on my home pc.
KIES is a pain in the bum........ I've installed it 7 times on my work system and still can't get it working.
Let's hope it works at home.
If not you could always download the full Rom and use Odin however this will wipe data/root I think

You do not need to root to use Odin, I put that as warning you can flash any sammy stock rom using Odin.

Well, just connected my S3 to KIES on my home PC and there is still no update.

Just got my Jelly Been update about 2 minutes ago.
Opened the phone to send a text and it had a message on the screen that there was an update available.
Can't wait to try it out. Better be worth the hype

Check the about section of your phone ,you could already have it.
It will be listed as vrrsion 4.1

meteor have the update rolled out. battery life is a bit poorer on jellybean 4.1.1 though so be forewarned.
update via kies should work no issues
the only network which hasnt rolled out JB in ireland is three, who did, realised there was connectivity issues with data due to roaming, so they pulled the update.

So i notice i had an update, i figured it was the Adfree app since its constantly being upated so i go ahead and click it. Next thing i know, the screen goes black and says downloading and installing system update. (it didn't look like any of the HTC updates which promps you to choose between wifi) At this point i was like wth is being updated since it gave no log or any details about what the update does, i try to pull the battery but the update finishes before i could remove it. Now i have no idea what just got updated Has anyone gotten an update like that? If so, any ideas what it does?

How would anyone here know unless they were looking over your shoulder ? Just go to settings-about phone-software info. If it says 2.08.621.3, it was the HTC Sprint update. I don't know if the GSM update has a different version, but you can probably find out what the update for that is as well.
I had that too, i had quickly clicked cancel though, dunno what's up

I have 2.08.621.3. It didn't look like any previous update since no change log or any details about what was being update was shown. It was just a black screen and nothing else, didn't give me an option to cancel either.

Wired. I'm on .3 here and just did a manual check and got nothing. Not typical for updates to push out to start this late though either.

I found the auto update box checked for htc. I unchecked it, curious if it happens again.
I got the update too but I cancelled it before it installed
I just did a nand restore of a rom based off Zone's that is using bcblends kernel. I let the phone sit for about five minutes after it booted, then checked it and it said "service update complete" in a bubble over my homescreen. My build is still 2.08.651.2.
Yeah everything seems the same at the moment and like others have said it wasn't a typical update it never asked if I wanted to update or not the screen went black and a box appeared and said system update then 3 minutes later said update complete and nothing else after that no change log or anything

Same thing with me. My phone was sitting on the counter after I got off a call. 2 hours later I pick it up and it says update complete. I'm on ViperRom and haven't noticed anything wacky going on so far.
Dying to know what this is about. The only reason I knew is my sister texted me telling me her phone updated (same phone). I told her that was weird and she shouldn't have accepted. Then a moment later mine tried to and I canceled. Ugh. I hate not having explanations.

Add one to the auto update. Running Warm, auto update unchecked as always, was on a call with screen off and when I hung up had the popup saying update will now be applied. Still have root so no worries.

downloaded and running fin in maui ill put more updates in a bit
Went i tried to give it a hard work out during the first boot scrolling opening apps web browsing. there was some lag but nothing closed or had the dumb wait box pop up. after boot everything is pretty smooth. Ive been trying to get the browser to lock up and havent had any problem yet. Seems to be pretty good so far.

Well I have it here in Florida, USA so I'm happy for that. I'm just nervous to go ahead and update. I dont want to lose my root and preformace tweaks, so I'm on the fence about it at the moment.
screwed up my update
My update failed! in US. It started updating then there was a dead android with a red exclamation on it. I forced rebooted and I am now back to 4.0.3. Now I cant even get the update when I check for update. It says no update available. I already factory reset it still no update showing.
The update lost root & Voodoo Rootkeeper restored root.

Well I had an upadate failure, it got half way through installing it and then showed the red exclamation point and restarted. Not sure what is wrong but I'm going to hold off for now.

I had the same issue with one of the past updates. I recall that I installed the update manually through Asus website. However, the JB update is not in there yet.

I had the same thing happen i just rebooted but the check for update button was blacked out but when i looked in the notifications it was downloading. dont know if that helps

Mine doesnt get past the update screen, update blanks out, failure message and nothing in notifications........... Bugger
UPDATE got it to update after a few more tries. It seems laggy at first but gets better as it settles in. I had some troubles getting wifi to connect and system notifications were missing initially. All corrected itself with time so be patient peoples. Impressed so far

Since then however, the Wifi is being a right *****. It keeps dropping and then few seconds go by, reconnects, then a minute goes, then repeats the cycle of hell! I've made sure the power saving mode for Wifi is off by dialling #*0011*.
WTF do I do?

Factory reset does not help here. I wipe as a matter of updating the OS (old Windows tech habits) and in-fact it has gotten worse recently. I'd not noticed any problem in the first week but now I see it reconnecting frequently while in use. Often pick it up from the desk to see it wasting my cell data.
It seems to be a known issue, that helps, but not a lot of info so I'll bump this with a reply. Anyone know any more yet? Totally stock system here.

So i have this Wifi problems, connected to a wifi i can surf and then after a few minutes nothing works, cant surf, cant check my mails. i have to reconnect to the wifi and it will work for the next couple of hours...
I googled this and im not the only one with that problem so i tryd to disable the wifi power safe mode via *#0011* but that did not work.... so the next thing i wanted to do is to disable 5ghz suportt on the wifi but i cant do that because im on 4.1.1.
So guys any advice here ? I also tryd to reflash the device but that did not helpd...

I also have this problem after upgrading to Jelly Bean. It completely drops for no apparent reason even though it's still says connected and signal is good. I then need to turn the WiFi off then back on to get it working again. I need help getting this problem fixed as soon as possible or I will end up downgrading back to ICS.

Aaaaaaand its gone... Wifi not working, had to disable and re enable wifi now it works... So the problem is still here this app does not help...
I also tryd to update to the lates version of the Omega Rom, does also not work so im going to downgrade to 4.0.4... and order a iPhone 5 !

Back to the topic, I have the same prob, works after diconnecting/reconnecting, annoying but u get use to it & not that big of a deal IMO, but granted that considering the device's price one shouldn't have to fiddle with it to get that kind of basic option to fully function.

This is a carrier issue that you are experiencing. It can be corrected relatively easy.
If you do not have root access, then root with CF-Root and perform the said modifications and then Un-Root your phone. Simple

Today when I was at work I've recieved pop out message that an update is available for my device but I can't do it untill I'm in the Wi-Fi reach.
So I went home after work, turned Wi-Fi on and tried to update again and device says that there is no updates available.
I've got update app icon on one of my home screens and it has little indicator since I've recieved the update message so I assume that the update is still out there.
Is there any way I can download that update ?
I've tried to restart my mobile but that didn't helped.
Did anyone else recieved that message today ? I'm in UK and I was hoping that this is the JB update that Samsung promissed to roll out for this device this year.
Well, we don't have the Samsung Galaxy Ace, we've got the Galaxy S2. Also we've had JB for quite some time now and it's better than anything Samsung will release.

Yes. No update for me either. I heard it's possible the date your imei was activated could impact your update. I activated mine on Feb 14th.

Do you have a T-Mobile firmware right? Because I remember one time went I flashed unlock version Thant I back to to mobile for some reason my csc changed and my UPDATE center stoped work but this happen to me one time , I don't know if this is your case ...

Temporarly on Hold.
T-Mobile stopped the OTA Oreo update right now for Note 8. This is due to problems with this update. Samsung and Google are working on a fix. Once they fixed the problems then they will resume OTA Oreo update for the Note 8.
I posted this in another thread days ago. If you have questions or you feel there is no problem, since you didn't have any problems this far, then read my post on the other thread.

Mines starting to heat up more during a charge...and using android auto. Before, the phone used to be nearly cold to the touch. Now it's very warm.

I charge my phone using the 2.0 amp wireless charger (I have a few scattered around) and I haven't noticed ANY heat change. In fact, I'd say the phone is cooler if anything. When I tried to update to Oreo by connecting to the computer (Smartswitch), I got Error 807******(don't remember) repeatedly, so I gave up and updated OTA.
I got tired of waiting and updated to Oreo via Odin. Haven't noticed any major issues.
I think T-Mobile stopped the OTA update because of battery life. I received the update on April 2nd and battery life is pretty bad for me. I only get 3Hrs 45min screen on time. Deleted a lot of apps that I don't use but didn't help much only get 4hrs screen on time. I also had to turn off Always on Display which I hate to do because I was use to looking at the screen without unlocking the phone.

No. Flashed mine via odin a few weeks ago and didn't trip the Knox counter.

just got mine update yesterday.
Just got mine, the new build number is CRD7, not really sure what's new compared to the last oreo update, but that 1.3 GB update installed surprisingly fast.
