the title does say 4.1, but below that in the OP it says sense 4. so im debating on whether i should try it out or not.
on another note, wouldn't we be able to pull some of the images/framework from it to compile our own themes?

best way to find out is back up and try flashing your self lol

Yea they work. I took the framework res API from that. Some are in my Rom. And I'm adding the arched lockscreen.

No go at least on my device. Aroma comes up but seems to not like my screen or something. You touch a radial and it selects another or does nothing. Cannot click next or check boxes it asks me too. Going to download once more and see if it helps
EDIT:
Got it working, you have to use your volume rocker and your power button to navigate. It compleIted but did not really work. Lockscreen has lables where icons are not. Blue framework did not take. Google Now did work, woot! ICS icon theme part no go... I might load Brolics and see if the result is different. Anyone else that wants to try post your results

Doesn't work like that. You have to rip images from files n put it in yourrr framework or whatever file you're working with. You needa know how to compile and decompile properly

Hmmm, I did have some success I updated my post. I might try your ROM and see how it goes.

Ok, so after playing some more, not much really works on either rom. What does work is adding JB animations and a Google Now to rebirth and a better Google Now to AOSP Sense 4. The Google Now talks back more. I was testing with birthdates and places of people and asking what 12x6 equals things like that.

Ok I've pm'd jerrytan93 regarding some of his work for to include in a theme waiting for a response back

[Q] Community Opinion

Just trying to get a feel of the community and how many people would like a purple theme. if its in demand i will do it but if not i will stop because it is a lot of work. just let me know if you would like to see it!
I am not sure what the deal is with this community. Most of the time it seems like we have 10 active users. Then CM10 comes out and I can't keep up with everything.
Then it does down again and the themes and other things we put out don't get any recognition.
Just a warning, don't get bummed if nobody shows interest.
I have never been a big purple theme fan. But I'm sure that if you build it, they will come.

Off topic a bit, but I'd love an ICS blue theme... I'm not a fan of the dark blue themes..
Stock ICS notification bar icons on a sense Rom would be awesome too...

I took a look at the theme chooser option for the theme.... I dont know where to start because the default folder that they give you is for GB and its hdpi... i know i can add a new folder for xhdpi and do it that way, but i dont know what files are exactly needed, and the ones that i have edited already would have to be renamed which is a giant pain in the ass. so unless i can find an uncompiled folder with xhdpi images that i can edit, i wont be doing that.
I have been using and really like the Jelly Bean Extreme Red theme from the Play Store, and there is also a Jelly Bean Extreme Purple, if anyone's interested.

I haven't tried an xhdpi but its similar to hdpi. Just a little bit bigger. I need to clear some space and set up my build box for the theme chooser again and I'll be down to help.

[Q] Transparent Status Bar on Lock Screen or Removed ???

Hello everyone... As the title says, I am looking to get rid of the black bar or make it transparent on the lock screen... I have tried a few thing and can not seem to get it... Is there any other method to try besides these here???...
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629653
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
3. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209937
4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029712
Currently using Links #1 and #2 for the transparent bar, but does not work for the lock screen... I have attached 3 pics as to what happens when I use Link #3 for the status bar, although everything else seems to work... Link #4 does not work at all... I flashed the zip and once I reboot it stays on the splash screen... So I pulled the battery and used my back up to get it to boot again... Is there any way to get the Simplistic Framework to function with our Verizon Note 2 ( SCH-I605) ??? But most importantly eliminate this status bar on the lock screen or make transparent... Thank you for any help you can provide...:fingers-crossed:
So no one has any suggestions or know of something that works??? I am still looking and came across this link...
----- > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37466852
I flashed the zip that is there and it did nothing for me... If I was a little more daring I would try the apk tool that he used... Would any one here like to try and make that zip work for the Verizon Note 2???

If you are on a TW ROM it won't work, it states in the first few lines of the OP it is only for AOSP Roms.
Also I believe the Xposed framework has an add on that allows what you're wanting.

I can't seem to find it but there is a conversation that was in Q&A a few months ago where someone asked if they wanted him to make a flashable zip and then he came back and said it was doable with Xposed and one of the plugins and gave the link to it. I wasn't able to find it last night but I'm going to look again tonight before I call it quits.

OK, from what I've found you need to install the Xposed framework and then install the Tweakbox, the only problem is the tweakbox I've found is for ICS. It may or may not work. That was the way I found to do it in the thread. I will keep looking because there is still one that I remember reading that I haven't found.
Here is a blog link that says it works for ICS and JB so hopefully it will work, this one explains it with pictures so it should be easy to do:

Again, I will keep looking tonight but I am pretty sure the thread I am looking for said pretty much the same thing.

Well that suck ass bad, it is supposed to remove it from both from what I understood but apparently it does not work. There were posts in that thread that said it didn't work either but there were some that said it did.
If I were you I would back everything up, via nandroid and back your apps up with Tibu, and flash Goodness. There may be other Roms that have it but the only one I know for certain that has it, without going and looking, is Goodness. There most likely won't be a mod made for stock if it hasn't already happened.
When we get official 4.2.2 then maybe, I believe the S4 comes with it stock so if we get the update soon ours most likely will too.

I will look into the Goodness Rom thanx... Once I seen the S4 with the transparent notification bar on the lockscreen I instantly wanted it on the note... So yeah, my offer still stands to any one that can make it happen for me...

Come to goodness and we will try our damndest to get that worked out for you and the rest of the users. Might take a bit, but we got one hell of a team over here. Just posted another rom for the vzw n2 also.
I asked about this before, and I've done some searching on the subject.
This method works, but only if you use live wallpapers.
Install one of the many home screen status bar transparency mods, then change the home+lockscreen wallpaper to any live wallpaper.
Voila!
I don't know how or why this works, but it does.
The only downside is, as soon as you stop using a live wallpaper, the status bar on the lock screen won't be transparent anymore.

Yes in deed you are correct... I guess I should of mentioned that earlier in my post... The thing with that is you can see the difference in the transparency... I am very particular in how I like things to look... I would much rather it be gone.. But thank you for pointing that out...
Let's hope some one takes this challenge before N3 comes out...
This thread is pretty old but I too was searching how to make that black bar go away. I am on the 4.3 stock rooted and xposed. I found a way to do this within 20 minutes of searching.
Install the Tinted status bar module for Xposed
2) open systemui.apk
3) select all activities and slide the bars all the way to the left for the navigation bar tint settings!
Enjoy!!

★★Transparent Framework Dependent Apks ★★[Closed]

Due to a "dev" attempting to kang this and not give me credit for the framework transparency mod after he has asked me to be a part of the ROM, assist him in the transparent aspect, doing the edits for this individual, and not even originally credited for my work and then only being credited for "Wallpaper Show" as of Aug 5th, my transparent framework thread is no longer available to the public. We don't need shiz like thiz in our forums. You know, Deckoz may not know you did alot of the transparency theming. I mean, it could be a misunderstanding. Have you tried talking to either of them? I really like the rom, and if you had your hand in it, you deserve thanks, and recognition. I have seen problems like this before tear up a whole forum. There is no way I want to get into a he said/ she said thing, and I am sorry this happened. You really shouldn't punish the rest of us low level code tweakers though. I mean, what is done, is done, and pulling your stuff now just hurts us lowly, uneducated people. I am not telling you what to do, just offering a view you prob dont care to see because you are mad. Thanks for having it up, I just wish I would have got to try it myself before it got pulled. Really man, sorry.

Touch Wiz Themeing Questions

I would like to start this thread to help each other out.
Themeing the SG4 has been a challenge to say the least.
If we work together I believe we will be able to achieve much more.
Basically post your base that you are on, what .apk you are needing help with, maybe a screen shot to show.

I'd like to start with the ME7 base SecContacts.apk.
I have been able to theme the Dialer to black background, but have had no luck with changing the SecContacts.apk background.
If anyone can help, or has any ideas, please let me know.
Thank you, all!
Welcome to theming Q&A..
I may be remembering incorrectly, but I think it is in the framework. It's something like tw-background light/dark. I'll double check when I get home to confirm.

No, the real guys are Vertumus and Nitro, theya re insane with it and their AOSP themes, they gave me permission to use theirs as a reference so now I can make my own AOSP them based off their work to the way I like it. (If can ever nake it that way!!)

I mean I don't suck or anything, I first started out themeing, but then I did my first smali MOD and was hooked.
I was on 7 HTC phone before coming to the SG3/SG4 so I haven't ever themed Samsung besides SG3 which was cake, but it was also using Bean's work as a base 99% his. I can do it I just don't enjoy it as much, as I am not as good.
I'll help anyway as well.
Hope can get the contacts bro. I really want to get the AOSP theme rocking. Maaybee you want to team up with me on it? who knows? that would be so sick.
Either way glad this thread will hopefully get some good use for people.

I think this is right but I learn as I go.
Frameworks drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi /tw_background_holo_light.png
I'm gonna theme to darken dialer so if I can confirm I'll report.
Edit: that did change contacts/recents backround but not dialer.

Dialer background is in a different spot for what ever reason. Its in sec contacts apk under one of the layout files with "dialpad_fragment" in the name.

if you change the contacts_list_content.xml in SecContacts and add android:background(line 12) that will change that. The problem with changing the image in frameworks file, is if any other apps calls a system resource it will make it darkbackground with most likely black text... This screwing that up.
So then you gotta redo that app. so I prefer to make the app inverted all by iteself and not reply up backgrounds and such from framework if I can help it....
Just a different way of doing it.....

Sorry. long weekend. Wrong person you are correct..
FWIW both methods did the exact same changes..
im trying to change the background of secsettings.apk from black/white text to white/black text
i know the changes need to be made in secsettings.apk. Nothing in there references a framework file.
i changed devicedefault to devicedefault.light in /res/vaules/styles.xml with no luck
any advice?

I should rephrase that. It freezes the stock launcher and uses the ultra launcher

Clicked on the thread in hopes of trying this. Since you are retired, might I suggest you just delete this thread. If the only reason for leaving it up is to blame another member, then perhaps start another one with an appropriate title.

You know. In hind sight, that member crazyrussian doesn't have a moto x he has an ultra. So me taking my stuff down for the x doesn't make sense. Will re-upload shortly.
OP updated.
Any idea on how to revert it if you wanted to go back? Is that possible?

You can go into priv app and remove the .bak from launcher2. Then rename MotLauncher2.apk to MotLauncher2.apk.bak
I dont understand how round widget's work on a rectangular phone... i would think you would need a round phone:silly:
i made two version ...
...one classic and another with kk appdrawer icon and 50% transparency in app drawer (menu)
...launcher without search bar and 5x4 rows will come

...this works with this circles too

If you've applied the widget, then you should see MotLauncher2 and launcher2 in the priv app folder. To undo it, add .bak to MotLauncher2 and set the permissions on Launcher2 to Rw-r-r
