[Q] App menu button position in touchwiz - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any mod that allows to drag app menu button in touchwiz? From the right side to center like in cm10 stock launcher.

I don't think that you can change that in tochwiz. Why not try Nova launcher or Apex Launcher?

well.. no you can't move the Application Menu

That's may sounds strange, but I do like touchwiz. I thought there is a way to change the position of menu button by the editing some system files. Anyway, thanks for replies.

[Q] Access "Personalize" from another launcher

Is it possible to access the Personalize menu from another launcher somehow? Going to Menu -> Settings -> Personalize does nothing at all from inside ADW... and it's the only way to customize the lock screen and whatnot... I can uninstall ADW, go back to Sense and it works, but I don't use Sense... and it would be nice if I could just hit a button or whatever and get there without having to change my home launcher...
OK this may or may not work. I know if you are in sense as the launcher, you can open adw with the app shortcut in the drawer, so, in adw can you just make a shortcut to sense, and click that?

Thanks for the suggestion, but Sense doesn't show up in in the list when trying to add a shortcut or any widget or anything.

lol it wouldn't be that easy. I was more hoping you could find the intent in the launcher action/system function list...
My workaround is to go into applications and clear defaults on whatever launcher im using and press home and switch to sense and then personalize what i need and go back and reset my alternative launcher to default. Kind of a pain but it works. Wish i had a quick shortcut to suggest.

[Q[ Change the TouchWiz default layout

Do you guys know if theres anyway to change the 4 apps at the bottom of the TouchWiz launcher??
I really like the launcher but it annoys me that I can't put my prefered messaging app (Handcent SMS) at the bottom of the screen instead of the stock messaging app.

Open your app drawer, tap the key to the left of home, it's name escapes me, to enter edit mode. You can then drag/drop icons to the dock.

Nova Launcher ICS icons

I want to use the stock ICS icons in the nova launcher, does anyone know how to do this?
So when you add an app to your dock or one of the homescreens, a different icon pops up?
Do you have any icon packs installed?
same here please

Download an ADW ICS Theme. This one from KovDev works perfectly. Long press the icon, tap edit, click on the image, select Image File, then select ADW Icons or something like that. Then you'll have the choice of using that ICS icon from there. Works perfectly.
EDIT: You can use any ADW theme this way (at least individual icons) in Nova Launcher. I do it all the time, so I know it works.
EDIT 2: This will only be for individual icons on the homescreen, not in the app drawer.
If you download the icons, you press and hold the app with the icon you want to change, select edit, then click on the icon. From here it will give you an option to pick from the gallery or file browser, just pick the icon file and you're good to go.

Thanks guys worked perfectly. i feel so dumb now.
It would be nice to be able to change multiple icons with a pack, much like launcher pro. :-/

Which launcher can move navigation bar to bottom?

I've been searching for a launcher or a Rom that has this ability?
Basically, to be able to move the top navigation bar to the bottom of the screen. And instead of swiping down, swiping up to bring up all the options.
Anyone have any insight?

you might wanna say "status bar" not navigation bar. And to do this, you would have to install a custom ROM, as no launcher can do this. I believe Paranoid Android and PACman rom does this by making the phone into the tablet ui mode and having the status bar on the bottom.

The launcher doesn't do this sir. that woudl be the SystemUI that controls the Status bar and the Notification Dropdown. That would have to be modifed to do so.

Woops sorry, I guess I meant Status bar, Are there any other VZW Roms that are known to have this option?
How come a launcher cant do this if they can modify other things?

The launcher IS the interface that controls the homescreen/app drawer (hence the name "app" launcher). By installing a 3rd party launcher you override the default TW ones. The status bar is located in another application that cannot be replaced.

How to mod single app icon ? Without a PC ?

Hello there,
I well know Unicon which allow to change all the icons in the whole system with a icon pack
Looking for something similar but to mod only a few apps
Any idea ?
Easiest way is to use a custom launcher, like Nova. Not only can you edit the icon, but the name as well. It works on the home screen and app drawer.

I well know this feature, but I'm looking for something more complex
I want the icon to be changed into the whole system (e.g : in the multitasking window)
Maybe something along this line https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kellinwood.zipthemer perhaps?
