My name is Mohamed from Egypt ^^
I so happy because i bought this smartphone Xperia u .. but i wanna ask about few things
1- The Light Bar of phone .. how can i turn it off ! ? .
2- i heard about " Rooting " it maybe help me ?
3- the language .. is Portoguese .."bought from Sao paulo ... and i now use it in English .. but if i want use it in arabic , i cant find it !! . just i can write or read , but the interface is English and Menu !! ... No arabic in list .. and after i update it to 2.3.7 .... still no arabic

1- get screen filter and follow instructions. (available in xda)
2- Rooting voids warranty. Don't do it unless you know what you are doing.
3- Arabic is not available in Android 4.0.4 as well.
First of all welcome to the community, greetings from Israel
Bear in mind that Rooting is not hard but can be dangerous.. If you root you can flash custom ROMs/Kernels/mods and so on (if you don't know what those are you can find the definitions by googling it)..
Hope you'll be able to get along ;p

U can't off the light bar. There no options to switch it off.
And one more thing, use Sony PC companion (pc software from Sony) and install it on ur pc, use it to update ur xperia U to android 4.0.4, latest firmware.

thank you ..i'll find this app " Screen filter " .. but if arabic not supported in ver 4 ! . so why i will root
i think i prefer english ..

Owh, did you buy the phone from vodafone or any telco companies? Coz sometime they deliver updates late.

i found a website that dedicated to provid arabic support for fryo roms especially CM roms,i foolowed the instruction ,i flashed the new frame work,but nothing happened...(i think its already made in the roms)
now comes to the important part ,tha arabic support in the web browser :
sadly i didn't find a file called libwebcore.so to xperia x10,
i tried the the following on wolfbreak cm rom :
CyanogenMod 6.1 for big devices (e.g. Nexus s/one)
Samsung Galaxy S Stock 2.2.1 ROMs
CyanogenMod 6.1 for small devices (e.g. MiniCM, Magic)
Desire HD Sense UI 2.2.1
but the phone stood on the SE logo
any help please

yeah i know it support arabic,actually CM7 do support arabic,but the rom is not final yet,still no cam and other bugs,
i wanna support for foryo custom roms

If u want froyo u need to used some files to enable arabic read.
U need to try them. Some of them work and some u stuck in boot logo.
I used free x 2.2 befor and it was arabic with change some files

i tried a lot of files,what am looking for is the web library file which called libwebcore.so
i tried defferent version including foryo from roms of other devices like Samsung and nx1 ,andi tried ginger bread versions,and 2.1 version but nothing worked,
am dying here to have the right file any help will be highly appreciated

Arabic ROM ?
ICS Supports arabic but for websites ,not for "Menu"'s or Apps or stuff. Officially you can just see arabic websites perfectly and/or have an Arabic Keyboard.
Though there is an app that will change the whole system language,i think its called "Select language and locale" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.softwaredesign.SelectLanguage&hl=en) but its a paid app so it depends on you.

Its an officail Rom. So it should have all languages just like other official ones

In the first that's what i thought, but i flashed the Xperia P LT22 6.2.A.0.400 World Generic JB on xperia p phone
And i couldn't find arabic language in it so that's why i am asking
So if you had this rom on your phone please tell me if there any arabic العربية language ?!

My appolosizes. You are right. Even this rom doesnt have arabic language.
Guys will I lose root access if I flash this official update??
Actually I want to unroot my device and relock my boot loader as I have to give it back to Sony...

yes. its stock firmware, always unrooted. make sure you also flash the kernel from the ftf file.
Any difference between this and the european? Maybe on battery? Cause with the Euro I'm getting serious battery drain! Please some help?
Oh I think almost the same. I m experiencing no drain. I wiped all data+apps while flashing. using sliding kernel 8.3 . Feeling like butter and no battery drain for me.

Suspect fisier is Galery , i don't have download anything , is a clean install , only app from google play when the screen was made !
For my security I change the ROM ! I'am back to CM 4.3.1 official !
Don't worry about the warning it must be because its a modded firmware. ROM maker won't put something bad inside. Xda don't work like that.

The rom is awesome and works just fine.The virus comes from another factor.
Just make a scan and clean your device from viruses etc.
The developer of the rom wouldn't make something that would harm your device.
Virus doesn't happen on android. If they could this site would be full of "how did I get this bug" and "how do I get rid of it" questions. ROM is safe end of. Pm the dev if you need more advice. :thumbup:

try to install the latest version, is it still detected? If so, I think it is not dangerous. as long as I use this rom never found a problem.:good:
