Updated 30/10:
1. When System Bar is locked the DOT is shown and NOT the Padlock.
2. Changed Back, Home & Recent Apps back to ICS icons.
Enjoy
Inspired by dpwhitty11's theme created for .21 and a desire to learn how to do it I have modified the SystemUI.apk file for - [ROM] WW Stock Jelly Bean 10.4.2.15. By: redvirus.
I have pulled the apk from redvirus's deodexed stock Jellybean ROM. (Thanks redvirus :good: ). I'm new to this so I cant confirm it will work for any other ROM & using this is at your own risk.
If you do try it on another ROM please let me know the results and I'll update this thread accordingly.
All I have done is created a Flat Black theme for the Asus Quick settings menu.
Confirmed Working on :
1. [ROM] WW Stock Jelly Bean 10.4.2.15. By: redvirus.
2. Hairy Bean 1.3(Thanks wheels01, knucklehead_11)
Instructions:
1. You must be rooted. (To access the System files)
2. Download the modified SystemUI.apk and copy to your TFP.
3. Using Root Explorer navigate to system/app.
4. Rename current SystemUI.apk to SystemsUI.apk.bak
5. Copy new downloaded SystemUI.apk file to the same directory (system/app).
6. Set Permissions to rw-r-r
7. Reboot.
Notes.... Don't know why but my wallpaper reverted to Asus Day Scene. Just change it back. Apart from that everything seems to be working
Your feedback & suggestions are welcome:
Enjoy.
looks nice. I guess this would probably work for US builds as well?

Really not sure. I think the whole Odexed / Deodexed thing plays a part. Can someone confirm how this works?
Edit: After a bit a reading I'm pretty sure it will work ok on US builds. Can anyone confirm?

Any ideas on other tweaks people? One I would like to do in the next few days is....
When you lock the System Bar it displays the Padlock. I don't like it and would like to see just the little 'dot' instead.

Can you bring your awesome more blackness to the system itself... i mean in settings etc you give that minimal look
Ha ha ha! Awsome Blackness! I think you have just named the theme! I'll do the dot this weekend at some point.
Then I'll have a look at what else I can do.

I've done similar edits to my systemui, but it looks like we ran into the same problem with .9.png's leaving colors behind (the blues). It would be cool to have it completely monochrome with the exception of processor speed toggles, and making internet access show bright white with network access being dimmer (to differentiate between the former white/blue). Basically everything neutral and monochrome.
Oh and a white clock.

Here are orange themed SystemUI and framework-res. I made these from the April 12 nightly. I'm not sure if they will work with any other versions of CM9. Definitely make a nandroid backup before you try them. You can push them via adb or copy them to /system/app/SystemUI.apk and /system/framework/framework.res.apk using something like Root Explorer. If you use something like Root Explorer mount the folder read/write, copy the files, and make sure the permissions are rw-r--r-- like the other files in those folder. Then, simply reboot.
I'm not sure if I'll get around to ever theming any more stuff orange, but it can't hurt to let me know stuff I missed or did wrong.
Enjoy!

Updated!
Updated for the 20120418 official nightly...and zipaligned this time
SystemUI.apk - It adds a new set of battery icons with a little keyboard. I assume that is for when you have an external keyboard attached.
Trebuchet.apk (NEW) - Orange theme added for homescreens and appdrawer. It also replaces the blue architecture wallpaper with an orangified version. It's pretty hideous though. I'll try to come up with something better at some point.
framework-res.apk - Now available and hopefully working too. I've never had any success copy/pasting framework-res. I always have to use adb.

No worries. I'm not really sure I'll be able to keep up with updating this anyway. It's kind of a pain. Hopefully, CM9 Reloaded will support tablets soon.
The newest nightly has Theme Chooser for CM9. Hopefully, someone will make an orange theme. I don't yet know how to make Theme Chooser themes.
Hello folks
I have made a samsung theme for our Tprime it has 2 parts
1- The modded systemUI.apk for the custom softbuttons
2- The touchwiz ux launcher from the galaxy tab 10.1 modded to work on the transformer prime
So to install this you are going to to have root and the right rom for the SystemUI.apk for the modded systemUi
The launcher works probably on every rooted rom.
first you going to need the modded systemUI.apk
1) Download the right SystemUI.apk for your rom and rename it to SystemUI.apk
2) Move SystemUI.apk to Prime
3) backup old systemui.apk as SystemUI.apk.bak Copy SystemUI.apk To System\App with a root explorer
4) Set premisions as this rw-r-r
5) Reboot prime
6) Profit
https://www.dropbox.com/s/epp0q7ekd3q5fqv/touchwizuxlauncher.apk link to the launcher.
With touchwiz launcher you are going to do the same but you dont have to backup a old launcher.
Remeber you don't need to install anything just copy and reboot
if any thing happens it's not my fault
if you want this ported to other roms ask!
Good luck
touchwiz ux launcher

I tried just the launcher on Androwook Prime 1.35. I really like the launcher, but whenever I try to add a widget, it force closes. Any ideas? Do I need the modded SystemUI?
you have to put the launcher in system/app with a root explorer set premissions as follow rw-r-r and then reboot.
the widgets will work at least they do at my tablet

thanks great you like it was quite a bit of work did you use both system ui and launcher?

Awesome man...I stuck the launcher apk in system/app and it works great! I had the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 before I returned them for the Prime and I always loved the launcher, especially when adding widgets, shortcuts etc...it's a great setup. Will the systemUI change the notification panel, or just the nav buttons? If it's just the buttons, I'm not too worried about it.
Thanks for putting this out
RE
The modded systemUI.apk just changes the softbuttons so notting to wory about glad you like it
Hey Kedas...I was just thinking. You should really change the title of this thread to just " Touchwiz Launcher apk" to make it appeal to more people. ( as opposed to just virtuous ) I'm sure the launcher will work on almost every rooted ROM anyway. It really is a sweet launcher and it would be cool to get more people to try it out. IDK...just a suggestion.
Thanks again man...working smooth on Androwook Prime v1.35

I've been looking for a flashable advanced power management menu for the tf201 and couldn't find one.
Then while reading mrwookie thread i saw that androwook has one, so extracted it and flahed it to my device which is running craigacgomez's jb jr003c stocked deodexed rom.
The only credit i take is for making it flashable and posting it. The real source was team wookie, so thanks to them for their work.

Glad you like it... It was sorely needed in the stock deodexed. But Im really not a dev (this was my first flashable mod) and it takes me a lot of time to figure something like this out. Just a middle aged guy with a wife, kids and job who screws around with his gadgets... Probably too much. So to answer your question, probably not. But it may not be that hard for you to figure out.

I trird porting the CM10 power menu last night and it my tab frroze in boot, so while im sure it can be done the crossover is not as straightforward. Same goes for screen extension since it would be a port from CM10 as well. It might be easier to use a launcher that hides the bottom bar. Don't apex and adw do that?

[Theme/Mod] Black Status Bar/Quick Setting & Lock Icon Removal [SnowJB!] [3/08/2013]
Hey again, I have redone this with the SystemUI for the SnowJB Rom. I didn't even want to install JB until I had the time to do this.
Do a backup first. I make no promises and take no responsibility for your OG's spontaneous combustion resulting from flashing this.
I would suggest wiping cache and maybe even dalvik after flashing.
Reported working on stock AT&T Roms. I can't vouch for this because I have not tried it. Backup if you wish to attempt it.
I also modified the QSlide add on to black it out for those who would want it.
SnowJB Black Status Bar/Quick Settings
V1: Self Explanatory, see screenshot 5. View attachment 1750838
V1.1 Same as V1 with the QSlide bar, see screensot 6. View attachment 1753136
V2: V1 with the clock color changed to stock blue, see screenshot 7. View attachment 1789917

Original ICS Post:
Hey guys, I have been playing around in some of the system .apks and making some small edits to them and wanted to share.
I am running The Base Rom and therefor (for now) all of these use Base (7.3) .apks.
I would not install these on any other Rom without a backup and the understanding that I have not tried them myself.
I adapted The Base Rom v.0.7.3 update.zip script (because I have never made an update.zip before), so I would like to thank Nottach for the original script.
If Nottach has a problem with this, please let me know, I will remove it.
I have absolutely NO affiliation with Nottach or The Base development, if you run into any problems Nottach is NOT responsible.
I have heard it works on stock if you delete (or rename) /system/app/SystemUI.odex after you install it (and then reboot again), I can't guarantee it will work correctly, but it is reported to work. As always, backup first.
Also posted working on Nocturnal, again, backup first.
Base 7.3 black status bar mod.zip (V1-3)
I have made the status bar for The Base v.0.7.3 black (and the Quick Settings background in V3).
V1: This is a darker (very dark gray) status bar, but not completely black. (screenshot 1)
V2: V2 is a pure black status bar.
V3: V3 has a pure black status bar and also themes the background for the Quick Settings (screenshot 2).
V4: V4 is V3 with the gray dividers removed from the Quick Settings (screenshot 3).
Base 7.3 lockscreen no icon.zip
I noticed when using the first lockscreen clock (the minimal one) that it added a lock icon in the middle of the lockscreen.
I have removed it and the small animation that goes with it (I have only made the .pngs transparent, they are still technically there).
(See screenshot comparison [pic 4]).

This comes with the normal disclaimer, I have installed these successfully on my phone with no issues, but can not promise a similar result for you.
This replaces system apps from /system/app/, so I strongly recommend either a system backup in recovery or at least making a copy of your version of the edited apps before installation.
Install via recovery.
Thank you for your support, I'm a noob, but really love getting my hands dirty here.

Hey guys, I thought I would share this MOD with everyone here on the AT&T forum. I came over to AT&T from Verizon and I had the S4 while I was there. Anyhow, there was a ROM named Hyperdrive and the TW launcher performance was unmatched.
A big thanks to @sbreen94 who is the Verizon dev who hacked this launcher for his ROM, Hyperdrive. I received full permission from him to post this MOD.
This is the stock TW 4x4 launcher (with infinite scroll) which he hacked for insane speed, and it's very noticeable. Just try it and you will agree. This should work on any TW ROM. I have used it on AT&T, International and T-Mobile based ROM's that I've flashed since I've been on AT&T with no problems at all. Be sure to go over to sbreen94's Hyperdrive ROM thread to thank him if you like this.
This hacked launcher is based on Android 4.2.2 JB TW I545VRUAMDK, Verizon S4 firmware. Please note that after you do this, some widgets may disappear. You will have to simply re-add them.
**UPDATE 8-14** I have added the AT&T hacked launcher based on MF3 which was hacked by sbreen94 to #1 of install instructions.
Install Instructions:
1. Download THIS (or THIS which is the AT&T hacked launcher based on MF3)
2. Make a Nandroid backup just in case you bork something during this process
3. Use Root Explorer or your favorite root file explorer and navigate to ROOT>system>app and find SecLauncher3.apk (depending on the ROM, it can also be named Launcher.apk, etc)
4. To be safe, rename SecLauncher3.apk to SecLauncher3.apk.bak (that will essentially kill the file, but make it revivable by removing .bak from the file name if anything goes wrong or if you want to go back to the former launcher)
5. Move or copy over the hacked SecLauncher3.apk that you downloaded from step #1 into your ROOT>system>app folder
6. Change permissions of the hacked SecLauncher3.apk that you downloaded from step #1 to rw-r--r--
7. Reboot & profit
**DISCLAIMER** Neither sbreen94 or I are responsible for any damage that you cause to your phone during this process or if your dog eats your phone and makes it irreplacable.
Enjoy! :good:
Awesome! I've got Hyperdrive on my Note 10.1. This hack is really nice! D/l-ing now!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would replace the main file with this one and just leave the odex file. It's worth a try and let me know!

Awesome! If you try and like it, let me know if you want to incorporate it into your ROM. I will ask for permission or I suppose you could as well.
