Whwre can I See which i have ?

I have s-off

Unless I'm mistaken, hboot 1.58 is CDMA only. Since you're GSM, it would be a bad idea. Afaik, 1.57 is the latest GSM.
I could be wrong as HTC numbers hboots very annoyingly.

Yeh as far as I know 1.58 is CDMA. Though why you would want to update your hboot is beyond me... generally speaking the lower your hboot the fewer problems you will have with it

1.57 is VM hboot. If you are S-Off search for the hboot thread by mpgrimm and download the 1.58. That one is not unlocked though. 1.58.5858 junuptobear is unlocked I think. It is there too.

Unlocked bootloader is no really necessary for most things if you are S-Off. The hboot thread is a great resource for all this.

I don't understand really sry
Because I'm from.germany
But when I wantet to unlock my bootloader at htcdev.com there comes comes always at the last step
Unlock tock check failed

Sorry, he did say gsm, although the VM leak had a hboot of 1.57.

I wanret to root my phone
But I can't because I have to unlock my bootloader and it failed always

Since you are s-off, find and download the appropriate gsm hboot (i know where cdma ones are but not gsm), rename the file (pg86img for cdma, not sure for gsm), put it on the root of your sd card, reboot into bootloader and flash it there.

You are already S-OFF with latest hboot. You dont need to unlock it. S-OFF is more than unlocked bootloader. If you want to root, you will have to flash custom bootloader 1st if you cannot unlock it. As you will not be able to flash recovery through fastboot without unlocking it though you are S-OFF. or you can flash a PG86IMG.ZIP containing a custom recovery.
then boot the custom recovery and flash superuser zip.
This will root your phone.

How can I Flash custom bootloader
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda app-developers app

i'm gonna try and explain this real easy:
1) Download you the hboot you want (I'd recommend this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172 )
2) Put the PG86IMG on the root of your sdcard (it means dont put it into any folder just place it outside)
3) Pull out battery.
4) Hold power and vol down button. The phone should boot into bootloader(white screen with fastboot recovery options etc)
5) select bootloader by pressing power button
6) It should check for the PG86IMG now. let it do its thing. when asked if you want to apply update press power up.
7) Let it complete and reboot

[Q] Installing custom recovery and rooting

I have decided to unlock and root my GSM Evo 3D... Planing to use htcdev unlock metod, but what next... Is there anyone willing to lead me step by step how to install cwm and root? Dont want to mess something up.

You're already s-off, don't use the HTC unlock method, you're already unlocked and you dont even have the locked bootloader that is required for the HTC unlock method. Read some threads about how to do this, they're very well written.
Yea, you just need to flash the correct recovery and superuser stuff. Or flash a recovery and then a rooted rom
We're comin from a pure power source.
What recovery should i use?
I already unlocked over htcdev, and relocked bootloader. Had no problem...
Sent from mine mean EVO 3D X515m machine using Tt
Whichever one is made for gsm evo. You can search or use rom manager. I prefer to do it manually though

Just flashed CVM recovery and rooted. Why do I need busybox?
What is the best way to rewert to stock recovery and unroot?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk
To un root run the ruu again and take the OTA updates takes you back to .018 but you will still be s off there are guides to s on

So just run ruu? That will restore custom recovery too?

if you want to go back to stock you have to download the proper RUU for your phone.. relock your bootloader and then take that RUU and rename it to PG86IMG.zip and transfer it over to your sdcard in the root folder... then boot into hboot and youll see the file start to be loaded by the blue bar on the upper right side of the screen...and yes it should install the stock recovery....
Thanks for info guys!
Poor choice of roms. But will stay rooted for a while.

as long as you download the correct version of your RUU there is no risk... download the wrong one with the wrong hboot there is a big risk of atleast "soft"bricking your phone... not unfixable but requires more work...

baseband(radio) 11.77.3504.00P_11.25.3504.06_M for S-ON devices

Many EVO 3D users S-Off their device but some like me didn't as 4EXT recovery is working nice on S-on users.
BUT
the only problem is newer baseband(radio) 11.77.3504.00P_11.25.3504.06_M is not installing in S-ON devices because it is not signed. So, anybody please help in installing this baseband for S-ON users. by signing it or by any other method.

Custom rom for s-on users

Anyone would to suggest which rom suitable for htc evo 3d gsm s-on? I would be appreciate

I'm CDMA, but I've heard Leedroid or Mwakious are excellent for GSM. I think they are Gingerbread, but ics tends to bootloop for many people who are s-on.
To unlock the full potential, I recommend s-off.
Sent from my ICS 3VO with Tapatalk 2
I'd say all the roms should work for s-on. Unless it requires a ICS firmware package, I don't think that you should have any trouble if you HTCdev unlock. Also, paranoidandroid and devil toast are pretty good.
Do the s off. Its easy and simple. Just read. The benefits outweigh the risks. Youll be a lot happier in the long run.
I also have a gsm s-on...You should go king cobra or mwakious
I am on mwakious...but 1st install v11 then upgrade !
Do click the thanks button !!
try PredatorUnityROM. its sense 4.0 so you will not have 3d but everything else works
Thanks alot guys for the info. But how i'm gonna change my s-on to s-off, sori i'm newbie .now i'm already flash predatorunity everthing greats but only 3d and wifi hotspot error.

Here's another tutorial you might find useful for S-Off. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248231
If you ask me, I am currently using TeamGenesis rom v4.2, with Anryls kernel 30.09, and everything works great. Not sure if everything would work on a s-on device, it would probably stuck on the white htc image, but you should be able to solve that with flashing the boot.img with adb fastboot.

new bootloader question

i know i have been around long enough to know this but for some reason i can't think of the answer. i have rooted many phones and am content with flashing roms and thats about it. i have the new 2.89 firmware with the stock ics rom from virus and can't figure out, if i am already s-off but my new bootloader is locked is there a reason to want to unlock the bootloader if i am already s-off? i never really paid attention if it was locked before.
S-off > locked, so you're good to go.

flash Juopunutbear hboot from: http://unlimited.io/hboot-downloads/
The JB hboot is similar to an Unlocked bootloader, but supports more commands & doesn't need you to unlock the bootloader via HTC Dev.
Since you are S Off, you can flash hboots & don't ever need to unlock via HTC dev again.

I don't know if the same is true for the GSM model, but doing the JuopunutBear (wire trick) method for S-OFF left the two CDMA Evo 3D's that I have with a ***LOCKED*** bootloader even though it was ***UNLOCKED*** previously, and those were both on hboot 1.5. The bootloaders are still ***LOCKED*** and I use custom hboots to be able to use the fastboot commands that a locked stock bootloader doesn't allow.
