Hi as I'm sure your all aware this amazing beast of a phone has the stupidest WiFi ever. I know you can turn off power save mode and that works brilliantly for me but is there like a way to put a toggle on my homescreen for it? I have tried with AnyCut but it just force closes when I try to make the shortcut.

Why not take full control of your WiFi and use chamonix's better WiFi on off app? There is a development tread for it there on xda.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks for your reply but that's not really what I was looking for I just need something like a toggle that will turn of WiFi power save mode or a way for it to be off indefinitely.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
If you just want power save mode off indefinitely then
Enter *#0011# in dialer. This will bring you to service mode. From here press the menu button and select WiFi. There is a button to switch power save off.
Hope that's what you are looking for.

Yeah I already knew about that but I do a lot of testing on my phone so my phone Is on and off all the time and when you reset the phone it turns itself back on.

I see what you mean now. I don't think you will find an app to do this.
You could possibly ask chamonix to add it as feature to his better WiFi app. He seems pretty open to reasonable requests.

Thank you I will try doing that

It's a bit late but I've just come across this on another thread.
It appears to do what you want.

Hi, I have the same problem. The "on/off" button isn't there anymore.
Do you have any advice? I have the Samsung s5 neo with stock rom and it's not rooted?
I have posted it in the Samsung s5 neo forum but no one answered...
Hi guys,
I have a problem with my WiFi. It turns on/off all the time.
I use the stock ROM. The time I had Lollipop on my phone I could turn off the "WiFi power saving" in the "Service Mode" over the code *#0011#. Everything worked fine, also after the update to Marshmallow.
But after I put the phone to factory reset I have the same problem and I can't turn off the "WiFi power saving" in the "Service Mode". The button on/off is not more existing.
Can anyone help me? I am looking for a solution for a long time. I still haven't found anything in the internet that helped me.

I keep reading that the gray arrow with the minus or plus sign is "notifications off" but I don't see a toggle to turn it on or off. It's not in the pull down menu, even if I go right or left. Tmobile and others seem to have it, so maybe AT&T doesn't have the toggle? Where is the setting to turn it on or off?

Nothing, no notifications. I think it changes when I get one, shows a + instead of a - sign. But I rebooted it and it went away. Not sure why it came up in the first place and not sure how to fix it (besides a reboot)
When I installed the chrome browser and did the login the plus thing happened to me too. And when I pulled down the notification bar I was able to click on the plus arrow and it took me to a password login area. Hope that helps bro.

I know that I get the + icon when I have a crap load of notifications (not enough room to show all icons in the status bar). Not sure about the -. Maybe it wants you to hurry up and clear some notifications?
Heres a mod to remove the Ongoing Wifi Notification. You have to be unlocked and have a custom recovery.
Step 1 : Download
Step 2: Flash via Recovery
Step 3: Reboot and Enjoy!
Thanks to dsb9938 for his flashable zip!

It says the file has been removed
I just got unlock, recovery and root and came straight here to be happy and flash this, then disappointed by a file not found message.... :'(

I ran this followed by the debloat (v3) script, and now I have no htc widgets.
I have attached an undo for the wifi notification removal, although it has not fixed my widgets issue.
Worked great thanks!!

There was an earlier version of the De-Bloat script that removed ShowMe.apk,.odex and HTC_Widget_ShowMe.apk,.odex which causes the HTC widgets to be hidden from adding them. Sounds like you may have run the earlier version. I recommend first try flashing the "Fix" zip file on that post, and if still nothing, post in that thread, the Dev that made the script is really responsive and can likely help you out.
I cannot seem to display the correct home time. It shows a different time zone and not my home time zone its like the phone thinks my time zone is not at home. When I open cLock it shows my real home time in smaller text and I cannot figure out how to swap the times. If anyone knows that would be great. If you need more info lemme know thx i777 galaxy s ii
If you'd bother searching you'd have found this is a well reported bug. If you'd bothered to look through your phone settings you'd have found the Date and Time settings menu, where you can change your time zone and the hours/minutes manually.
same problem.
well if he did what I did we didn't do anything wrong. i set my clock to the right time zone. if I restart my phone the time gets fixed but only for a while then it loses an hour again. i too have my home clock showing the correct time as if I was in a different time zone. i checked all the settings that i know of. i need help with this issue too.

He meant to uncheck the "Automatic time zone"
He also attached the image show exactly what it is.
If this is what you're talking about, it has no bearing on the time being displayed correctly. It can be checked or un- checked. Its just there if someone wants to so desperately need to know the time where they're not at.

i didn't see the attachment.
I traveled recently. It is funny to see that the automatic time zone worked in LA and Houston, TX but not DC area. Not sure if it is specific to Eastern time which fell back to GMT. Just share my experience while waiting for the fix.

Verizon doesn't give us the option to turn it off. I ended up using Tasker. If you search the forums others have mentioned other fixes they have used.

Theres an option to turn the shutter sound off. Open the camera, hit menu and open the settings menu, hit the gear on the far right for more settings and its near the bottom.

Thats only there if you have a custom rom or modified camera app
If you are rooted, go to /system/csc/feature.xml and change this to true (make a copy first in case it gets messed up):
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Reboot and it will be in the camera menu.
My bad didnt think about that. Have been running synergy since the day I got my s4. Thanks tho.

Not rooted and running the latest vzw update, if I have my ring volume off (silent mode, and vibrate only) I get no shutter sound. Only way but it works.

Hello everyone, i am on the OC5 firmware from sprint and just noticed that wifi calling is nowhere on my phone. The firmware is stock rooted. Any ideas?
Update, i was browsing through the installed apk files and wifi calling is indeed installed. For what ever reason it isnt available in settings nore is it in the app drawer.

how did you get on oc5?
I had this issue when i odined a tar and didn't let it boot at least 1 time with the stock recovery.
Odin OC5 and let it boot at least once then do your root
Will give that a try, thanks a bunch!
Easiest way to get to it is to do as follows:
1) Pull down notification bar
2) Hit the button to expand quick settings
3) Press and hold the wifi calling icon to access wifi settings
It should also be in settings under the Connections tab. The first one on the list.
More in likely it didn't take the first time.
Same Issue
I have the same issue, I tried the steps above, but still nothing. Also at least for me there isn't a toggle in the pull down, nor an app, nor anything is the settings, the apps are there in the application manager, but just no way to access them.. Maybe when a stock rooted version is made I'll try that. I can just use hangouts for now.
I have it and a lot more.
