Please forgive me in advance if this is a known issue, I searched, but I couldn't find anything on it.
I unlocked, rooted, and flashed CWM 5.8.1.8
Then I installed Android 4.1.1 on my Atrix 4G MB860, as well as the google apps rom. Before all of this I had Gingerbread 2.3.6.
My firmware was 4.5.141. I assume it still is, but I can't find an entry to verify that in the "Settings/About Phone"
My CM10 version is 10-20120805-UNOFFICIAL-olympus
Build number cm_olympus-userdebug 4.1.1 JRO03H eng. jokersax.20120805.122133 test-keys
Kernel version 2.6.32.59-MB860-CM9-gd23c5fb [email protected] #1
If there's any other info I can give to help solve the issue please let me know.
Here's the issue:
On 2.3.6, when I USB connected to my computer, I'd get two entries in My Computer. One for the internal storage, one for the SD. I could access both, move files around, delete, whatever. Also, I could access both in the Android file explorer and move files between them, etc...
On this 4.1.1, it isn't working like that. In windows I can only even see one or the other. Which one I can see depends on whether I have "Settings/Advanced/Use Internal Storage" selected or deselected. Selected I can view and access the internal storage in My Computer, not the SD. Deselected its the opposite - SD but no internal storage.
In the file browser on the phone I can't move files between the two. I can see both, and even open files on both, but when I try, say, to move a picture from the internal storage to the SD card I get a "could not move file" error.
So could someone please help me?
I would like to be able to:
1) Access and make changes to both the internal storage and the SD card simultaneously, without having to select/deselect the "use internal storage" option and reboot every single time and
2) Move files back and forth between internal storage and the SD card using the file browser on my phone.
Can this be done? Am I doing something wrong? Please help me someone.
Thank you to everyone, in advance, for any and all help.
P.S.
Are my versions of kernel, CM Rom version, and CWM version the best, latest, or greatest for my phone? If not, where can I get better or more updated/stable versions? Thanks again everyone!
I've epinter's cm10, and it works perfectly, and I've "use internal storage" disabled.
But if you go in the internal storage, and go to "mnt" than "sdcard"
now you are in the 10gb memory

I assume you mean within the Android file browser? Yes, I said that I was able to do that in my initial post. But that still doesn't allow me to do to two things that I want to - that I asked for help in achieving in my initial post.
Thank you though.
Anyone, please?

Hello everyone!
Well, as the name of the thread says, i installed neutrino rom a couple of hours ago and for some reason the phone doesnt recognize the internal storage, if i open the music app it tells me that there is no SD card mounted with music, the 3D gallery tells me the same, and the camera too.
I dont know what to do, i did the usual things someone does when flashing a rom, wipe data, cache, dalvik, battery stats and then installed the rom, once the phone started i went back to recovery to install the addons as the rom comes pretty empty.
If i go to the storage part of the config, it shows me the info of the 10GB storage and the available 4GB, but i cannot use it, i already tried unmounting and mounting the storage and it doesnt work.
Using a file manager like astro happens the same, i go to the ext-sd or the sdcard folders and they are both empty. If i plug the phone to my pc i can see all the files inside the internal storage, so i dont think its broken.
I dont have an external SD, and i already used neutrino's rom some time ago and everything was fine, not a single problem, any help?
Thanks in advance!
Goodbye!
You need to change the settings somewhere (been a while since I used my Atrix) that says "use internal storage" that will do what you want.

I got an android tablet. I don't know the exact name of my device but this is whats written in the model information.
Model Number: DFP1008R
firmware version number: R_0.1.9
Android version: 4.0
Kernal version: [email protected]#205
build number: DFP1008R_ebentong_eng.root_20120516
Now my problem, I was recently running out of internal memory (which was 8 GB) so I formatted my internal memory from my computer. After that my internal memory has disappeared. Now I keep receiving a "damaged storage" message. When I touch it, a format option comes up but when I format it a message appears "checking for errors" but nothing happens. I tried reseting my device but no luck there. I can still access the external memory sd card. Any ideas on how to fix this.?
P.S. My device is not rooted

Sounds to me like it needs to be reformatted. Have you tried to format from a program on your pc seeing you were able to wipe it that way?

just used moborobo but no luck. My computer wont even detect the internal storage (an icon appears with 0 bytes space).
If this fails I am thinking of making my external storage as my internal. I saw alot of tutorials on how to do that.

Well if that is an easy fix by all means do so. But I hate to see storage wasted lol. Do you know what format the internal needs to be in?

I tried FAT32.

I used FAT32 to format. Doesn't work. I suspect this to be a hardware fault.
I've tried getting an answer on this before. How do I fix the internal and SD card storage problems? For some reason everything goes right to external and it never uses my sdcard. Ex; Titanium Backup goes right to internal, everything I download goes to internal, pictures too(pics go to int & sd) etc. I have a 64gb card and I'd like yo use it. Can some please explain what each folder means? There are so many paths to external and sd. Also, I went into "manage apps" and to the "on sdcard" tab. I checked each one. Does that mean every app that is checked marked is now using the sdcard for space? I'm just really confused with all this lol. I attached some screenshots of my external/scard. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

JB AOSP roms behave the same way Sense does, sd card is considered internal.
Check to see if you can change your storage location in the apps in question. People have gotten away with swapping the mount points to make external the sd card also.

Is there a post on here about making the ext the SD card also?

I forgot, does that camcorder not work on all jb roms atm? Is going back to sense my best bet? If so can I just go ahead and flash any sense rom coming from cm? Or do I need to follow other steps first?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Camcorder works and has been fixed for awhile...as for making your external read as internal is darn near impossible....the 4.1 and 4.2 SD card layout was caused by a bug....I bricked my last rezound trying to make a mod for you guys...so be warned about trying...there is an app somewhere that merges the 2 SD cards together but causes errors for future flashing

The process changed in CM10.2, they did away with the vold.fstab file. It looks like the mounts are defined in fstab.vigor and/or fstab.goldfish now. I haven't tried modifying them personally.
It would be easier re pointing any apps you can, any changes you make to the above files would be lost every time you flash a new nightly.
Hi everyone,
I have troubles since 4 days with my i9100 (under CM11)
Since 4 days, I cannot access anymore to the internal memory (sdcard0)
My SD Card works (sdcard1). It's even recognized by my computer when I plug my smartphone by USB.
However, the intern card (sdcard0) is not showed anymore when I plug my smartphone by USB to my computer.
I can't access to the Gallery. The message "no external storage available" appears.
With Es File Explorer, for sdcard0, the app shows the following message "SD card unmounted".
However, in the Settings, when I go to Storage, internal storage is recognized… it show only applications, some cached datas and available storage (total space 1,97Gb ; Available 672 Mb).
In the Recovery, I tried "mount /storage/sdcard0" but it shows : "Error mounting /storage/sdcard0 !"
Does the internal storage is down ?
My smartphone is still functional, I can update applications and install new ones, etc. So I have difficulties to think that the internal storage is fully down.
However, I cannot update CyanogenMod with CMUpdater (I tried a restoration of a Nandroid backup but it crashed… probably because of this internal storage problem) which normally writes on sdcard0.
My version of CM is actually 11-20141024-Nightly-i9100 (it was more recent before the restauration which have strangely crashed… but works!)
What can I do ?
Thanks for your help
P.S : I tried many forums (particularly french forums because I'm French… sorry if I made mistakes on my post) but nobody answered me.

Try flashing back to stock rom and see what happens. If it doesnt help, use a pit file to repartition your phone's memory.
I too have the same problem with the internal memory. My s2 is running CM11 right now. And suddenly it have problem with it MMC. Apps like camera, Bluetooth, and downloading files from the Internet seem impossible to receive any file coz I set it stored in the MMC.. Then I checked the setting > storage, the memory card was there. It detects it's total memory. My internal memory however have shrank to total of 1.6 GB with free memory 300 MB. Are you using i9100G? Have you restore the stock?

Hi, thanks for your help. What do you mean by "pit file" ? Is there a tutorial somewhere for this operation ?
I really don't think that going back to a stock rom will change anything. It can't be a problem with CM. It's installed on my smartphone since one or two years and I never had any problem.
I've flashed with the recent Omni ROM but it seems that doesn't help at all

I've found the solution. Under the setting > storage. There are two section, internal and SD card. Choose the option to erase SD card on the internal memory.

Scroll down until you see a file named 'stock 2gb' then download that. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...es/mod-partition-internal-memory-app-t2538947 Pit files provide information so that you can repartition your phone just incase the worst happens to your phones. It can be used for your problem too. Then, in odin, locate the pit file for the pit selection then tick repartition, oh, btw, make sure you have stock rom with you so you will need to flash back to stock rom by selecting the files under the respective categories. Once that's all done, you can start flashing.

That could work too. But my method better! Doing this will not properly format the internal sd card while my method formats the internal sd card.
Sry.. It's my mistake that I am not giving the full details of the situation. I just realize that for the apps partition, it is set by 2 GB by default. What am I experienced was the SD section for internal memory gone missing. I tried by erasing the SD card. Anyhow, it has been Ok for a while. I'll try to repartition by using your method. Seems that 2 GB is very easy to full

Ok, I just found a solution for my problem, and without formatting anything.
For those who have this problem, you can try it, there are no risk in theory.
I plugged my Android smartphone on my PC.
I went into the Recovery and choose the 'Mount and storage' menu.
Here, I used the 'Mount USB Storage' option. My PC started to recognize the smartphone and I was able to access to my 2memories (sdcard0 and sdcard1).
I made a right click on the sdcard0 and in the 'tools' menu and choose to perform a basic scandisk...
It found errors and correct them.
After that, i made a reboot and my memory was back.
Thank you gsstudios for your help. My solution is not academic (using Windows to repair my smartphone) but it worked !

Ah, so it was a problem with the file system of your sd card, glad that your problem was resolved.
I had the same problem and using the Erase SD card option in the Storage menu worked for me!
Luckily I had already made a complete back-up recently so only a few new files were lost. If I hadn't though, I would have kept looking for a better solution.
Thanks!
Sorry, what do you mean "went to recovery mode?" Means recovery mode in phone (volume up+home+power) or somewhere or an app in pc?
I recently flashed AOSPA 4.6 BETA 6, I can't access to the internal storage. It says SDcard is unmounted in ES File. Some apps like Camera and Youtube forcecloses every time I launch them. What can be the issue here? I have CWM Touch 4.0.0.6.5 (version may be wrong, but the latest I found).
Waiting for help, I don't own this phone and I'm going to give it to its owner tomorrow. Save me please!
Why no one is answering?
i'm unsure if you mean the paranoid Android 4.4.4 beta 6?! that's the ROM which sounds near yours..
now to your problem:
- in that ROM internal SD card emulation is disabled --> you need a external SD-Card
so I think you don't have an external SD-Card and that's it..
sorry for the delay..
