[Q] Dual booting customs roms - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it safe to dual boot custom ICS rom and custom jellybean ROM?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

Yes.
Just make sure that both roms work with the kernel you're using - Siyah 4.1.5 doesn't work with some of the latest JB roms.

I'm on revolt 2.5 and I wanted to install RR ICS because some apps don't work on jb. So it should be safe with RR 2.6?

It should be fine if the roms both work with the kernel you're using.
Do a nandroid first though.

(Q)Stable CWM recovery for i9100

Anyone please help me to select which cwm recovery version is most stable for s2?
I am on official GB 2.3.6.
And also tell me which one is stable for official ICS ROM 4.0.4?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Yes tricky question this, I'd read chainfires thread to be safe. To avoid brick bug you need to stay away from stock CWM. The latest siyah kernal is safe its the one I use.

Use siyah kernel 3.3.3d , it's really stable and safe
Well i mean here, which cwm recovery version is stable?

Here??

for GB : siyah 2.6.14
for ICS: 3.3.3d
if u wanna stay at official roms , just don't think about changing kernels

[Q]help with siyah kernel

I tried to install the new SIYAH kernel 5.0.1 through CWM but I installed and tried to restart the Galaxy 2 is stuck on the opening screen of SIYAH.
I'm with rom of WANAM V13.0
4.1.2
XLS
Siyah is not yet compatible with xxlsj based roms. Just reflash wanamlite and you'll be fine.

There are no other kernal except philz currently wait another couple of weeks till Dorimanx and Siyah implement the code changes that will alllow their kernals to work.

But remember, Siyah kernel is for stock and CM10/10.1 ROM, it may not work with AOSP/AOKP ROM?

Dual boot cm9? Ics? Are you sure thats possible? Don't both roms need to be JB?
Why would you want to dual boot cm9? 10.1 is the latest
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Both roms need to be jellybean at least, so you will have to use at least cm10...

Doesn't it depend on the version of the Siyah Kernel? Maybe I was wrong

ICS was never supported for dual booting. So no, you cannot.
