Word. I was just going to wait for the eventual price drop, myself. But I saw the difference for this one compared to the sony website (same bundle, $550) and nearly made a teepee of my pants.

Hey all,
Not really specific to the XS, but hey.
I have several devices that charge over USB, including the XS, an X10 and an X8. I keep them on my desk and it'd be mega convenient to have one unit that can support several 1-1.5A devices, few short cables. Would be much better than running multiple cables up from multiple chargers plugged into a power bar.
Next bit is a car mount. I have a lacquered desk so car mounts work like they do on glass. Very nice solution, can see when stuff comes in(sleep disabled), type when you need to. Landscape & portrait. Anyone got a recommendation for one for the XS?
TIA,
Scratch
Also looking one of those..
Will be glad if someone know where to get..

Dont ship to Ireland though :/
This one does(free) http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Car-Swivel-M...ccessories&hash=item27c6f6b2ff#ht_4697wt_1163
BTW, there is one listed with a "flex" arm, IMO a solid arm is a way better option.
This is what I brought for my Sony Xperia P. I live in North America and brought my P from Clove so the EP850 it came with didn't have a North America plug anyways. It's official Sony model AC-UD20 so it matches and is a 1.5amp charger with nice folding blades and excellent build quality with two USB outs:
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...productId=8198552921666397175&tab=featuresTab
I brought the matching white L shaped Sony USB cable SPA-UL7 to go with it. 0-100% in 1 hour 10 minutes with this combo and excellent built quality on the cable:
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...productId=8198552921666439473&tab=featuresTab
I ordered it over the phone from Sonystyle.com, got them to price match the charger to J&Rs price of $19.99 and the cable to another site I saw it on for $9.99 so total came out to a very reasonable $30.
I see Sony also does make an official car mount model number SPA-CK10. This would probably be your best choice in terms of build quality and asthetics since it's Sony:

1st link: Rated at 500mah? And I'd need 4 ports(I found one solution but €65 is too much)
Car mount is nice but too low/stubby. Ordered the chinese one on ebay so I'll post back how I get on in a week or two when it arrives.

I was looking around for a friend for a decent tablet as a gift, and was set on a samsung galaxy until she upped her budget to get one of these, but Not wiling to pay the £150 - £200 extra to buy from UK.
So I need somewhere in the US that ships to the UK.
Where are your favourite places?
And should I be set on the TF300 (+) models, or only the TF700?
Not sure asus fixed all the problems with the 300 and below models.
The limit is $467 dollars...maybe a touch more for shipping only...
Kinda urgent, needs to be shipped by tomorrow for arrival no later than next weekend.

Shipping international will probably jack up prices sky high and right now TF300 is what you probably could afford. I would wait for the Prime to drop in price soon to $399 for it's 16 GB tablet. The TF700 will be the same prices as the current pricing for the TF201, so it would exceed your limit.
As for places to order from, I wouldn't know. Amazon maybe a contender if they have someone shipping a tablet internationally.
The TF300 and TF700 has fixed the Wifi and GPS issues, though I wouldn't worry too much as most of the new TF201's have improved wifi over the course of it's life. TF700 has less battery life than both the TF300 and the TF201. TF300 lacks the Super IPS+ mode made for outdoors, making it 300 nits max compared to the 600 nits for the Prime's screen. TF700 has a Full HD screen and full clocked Tegra 3 to 1.6 Ghz (though ROMS can increase the other tablet speeds).
All in all, I'd wait for the TFP to drop in price.

Thanks, I think you just about cleared up everything there for me.
Not sure my friend will want to wait, but do you have an expectation for when prices will drop?
I have a Galaxy tab2 and its a total Turd. Just picked up a Z3v phone and Im beyond happy with it. Are the tablets worth getting ?? I dont really care about development any more, just want a solid performer
I had a galaxy tab 2. This is in a different league. I've had it a year now and no issues. Never had any issues without enough memory or that it's struggled with. Really really fast. Light too and awesome battery life. Very high quality. Check how little the price has dropped since launch compared to samsung tab pro. Shows how good it is!

What model# are you talking about, there seems to be a few versions out there, Also does it take the standard Micro USB for charger
I'd buy another Sony in a heartbeat. I have the following tablets.....Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, LG Pad 8.3, and the Sony Xperia 2. The LG is great when I'm out all day and just want something small...the Note Pro 12.2 is my work horse, and the Sony is the device I go to when the Note is too big and the LG is too small. The Note 10.1 has been officially retired as of this afternoon when I gave it to my mom. All in all, I Sony is not as heavy handed with their UI, and I love the form factor (thinness) of the device.
Again the question is what model to get as there seems to be some variations. What about the changer is it microUsb
I haven't had mine that long but I would buy another one. Hoping to get Z4 when they are released. Also have a Note 10.1 2014, which will be for sale shortly, & a Note 8 which is normally what I take if I leave the house.
I was keen on the Z4 because of the specs and super lightweight!
Then I couldn't wait and bought a Z2 with LTE, including voice phone. (I rarely call d use a headset).
My wife has the original Z and loves it. Never an issue.
The Z2 has the headset port open = no fidgeting with the plastic cap. And the Z2 has a magnetic charging dock, which can be bought for a couple of bucks.
If LTE is important to you, Sony is the choice since they typically have the highest number of bands (frequencies).

If you mean tab 2 model. I had this one It used a stupid Samsung iphone-copy cable for charging. If you mean Z2 tablet, they all have the same processor and RAM. I bought the 32GB wifi version. For £410 a year ago and it's only dropped £10 in a year (if you buy from Amazon). There are three main models. SGP511 (16GB wifi), SGP512 (32GB wifi) and SGP521 (16GB wifi & 4g/LTE). There are some with different model numbers but similar specs if you are buying from foreign countries. Depends where you are from.
The Sony can be charged from micro-usb, but you have to lift up a slot to get to it. I use the magnetic charging contacts on the bottom as they are always exposed. Never had any issues using it with a cheap magnetic charging cable I bought on Ebay. Not the strongest magnets in the world if you want to use the tablet while it's charging, but I don't do that. I tend to charge it overnight. If I did use it when charging I'd buy a magnetic charging dock.
Yeah Im interested in the Sony NOT the Samsung. Im ready to use that Samsung as a wheel chock for my truck

I managed to sell my tab 2 10.1 on ebay for £100 with some accessories a few months ago! It was in perfect condition though and had Samsung case and a Dock and several cables though.
I also went from an Galaxy Tab 2 towards this tablet. I'm not a really big fan of Sony's UI but it's much better then Samsung's.
My next tablet would probably be another Sony (if the bezels are smaller) or a Nexus tablet.
