Ones just a port from the i9100 section. The other (tasks AOKP) is built from source from AOKP for our device specifically. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, what's funny is the fact that the majority of people who reply to this thread usually troll the I777 forum. No reason to **** in this guy's lemonade. He asked a question, if you don't have an answer or think it's a dumb question learn to move on. If you guys are going to troll every damn thread just go back to reddit or 4chan. I've found JB roms to be pretty stable over the last couple of weeks.
This is bordering on being a vs thread, which are not allowed. I too forsee this being closed soon.

Its just that this is such a personal preference thing that it can lead to personal attacks and some people making others feel like a certain devs work is more important than others. Plus its better to just try different roms and see what ya like. Its fun.

So I know this type of question isn't really approved of, but I figured, why not post it in a thread that's similar. Sorry OP for thread hijacking.
As my signature below indicates, I'm still using shishir's pre-alpha ShishirICS with Entropy's DAFUQ ICS kernel. I'm looking to try out Aberration since it's his sequel ROM, but I'm not sure which kernel to use, and though I know kernels are phone-dependent, I'd still like some advice. I've been away so long, I don't even know which ones are 4.0.4 compatible or not. I'm looking for a kernel that obviously is Aberration compatible, is rock solid, doesn't have to have a lot of options, and, on stock settings, just makes sure that my phone runs fast enough (I don't run lots of apps or intensive ones, just the basics) and that my battery lasts as long as possible (I love long battery life). I don't want to have to mess with settings too much; the only option I would want to mess with is touchscreen sensitivity (increase it), but I'd be willing to forego that in the name of longer battery life and increased stability. Can anyone make any suggestions as to what I should try?
I may repost this in the Aberration thread later, but I wanted to try here first.
I'm running 'CM10 nightly' its full jb 4.1 and its great its so far stable but its still in testing I'm using it as a daily driver like I said I does have

This guide using 2a. will be your best bet since you're on KH7- 2.3.4 if you have questions just search google "XDA i777 (your question)" will bring you to a thread with answers to your questions..... GL

What it really boils down to is the same thing that happened in world of war craft. Lol i know it's strange to compare the two. But... What happened was you had two kinds of gamers. One kind was hard core and played every day. The other was casual and only played once in a while. So what blizzard did was dumb down the game to the point that a mentally handicapped monkey could level up and play it. To relate it to xda and other forums of the same nature, because the popularity of rooting and flashing custom roms has become more and more prevalent, more and more people are flooding in here. Some of us have been here a while and surf the forums daily, and so we have a very good grasp on what's going on. Others are new and they don't want to learn all that we know, they just want the answer to their question. So instead of doing the research we all had to do, they just post a new thread and ask their question. What people need to understand however, is that this site wasn't made to just give answers out. It was made originally for development and later bunches of users joined up and now it's a large community. But the basics are still the same. If u want to modify your phone /device, that's awesome. But also understand u have an obligation to yourself and this community to educate yourself. I wish everyone the best. Good luck and happy flashing.

After I successfully downloaded the update using the instructions here to 4.0.3. I have a few things to say/ask.
1. The battery takes a longer time to charge. Is it only my phone?
2. The battery percentage option that is there in settings for other phones on ics, is not there in my phone. How do I get it?
3. Some video formats which were previously supported are not supported anymore. Is there anything I can do to make them work?
4. Some songs come distorted. Is there a way I can fix them?
5. I have experienced a lag in my phone which was previously didn't happen.
6. The Facebook sync doesn't happen as well.

Your problem is u are on stock ics. Which had bloatware that makes it laggy and misbehave. Along with the stock kernel that has been known to hard brick devices if u wipe data.

1. Please turn off phone.
2. Remove battery cover
3. Remove battery
4. Look at sticker under battery and look for MODEL NUMBER
5. Verify you have a i777 for the model number
6. IF you have a i727 then please do a search for the correct forum using Google Search Engine
7. IF you show ANY OTHER model number then please see instructions from #6 above.
8. This way the i777 Galaxy S2 forum does not continue to get cluttered with useless post for phones that DO NOT BELONG in this forum
9. Also this will make it easier for us to help aid you in your issue IF IN FAXT YOU HAVE A i777 Galaxy S2

I REALLY dont understand why it seems to go in swarms with the skyrocket people that DONT KNOW what phone they have or that there are quite a few different models of galaxy s2s. Why do they all come here? Are they all formar isheep? and think all the ohones are the same. I dont see the i9100 get SO MANY wrong phone post in their forum. It must be that they just look at ATT and NOT their actual model numbers. Geez it just gets worse

I always wondered, how difficult can it be to find the correct forum for your phone. I can sort of understand if you're on a different variation of a gs2 and you're new to the whole android scene, but something completely different like a Nexus just baffles me.

These forums aren't any different than any other forums. There are forums, sub-forums and stickies, announcements and topics for each of those sections if permissions allow.
Anyway, not gonna go into more detail on how forums are structured and what not, those days are over for me.
But I will say this:
Those who search and have questions get helped. Those who don't, get ignored/flamed.

Thanks. I did find it, not on here but on Zedomax's site. Thanks anyway. Yeah but also I was on my phone and the XDA App lags like crazy and force closes on me so much, so I didnt wanna go through the stickies and deal with all that. Lol But thanks anyway

from the sound of it its his phone now. Read carefully. Also download samsung kies. Plug phone to computer and check for updates. you should be able to update to ics. Whats worse than spoon feeding personally is someone who goes out their way just to say something that does in no way help the person. If its been stated once by a member there is no need for 10 more people to say the same thing. Just like or thank the first person so the op knows its important info.
