I'm using Noozy on my Samsung GS3. This is the absolutely smoothest and most enjoyable media app I've tried on this phone.

just use Zplayer, works perfect and is polished nicely.

just so cool!
Hello i just downloaded, it's so cool the interface, and some of the options that it have on it.
i'll wait for my lunch to use it and check how it works ;D thanks
Edit: the songs cut some times when i lock the screen but the theme that the app give to the lock screen it's so cool, and the widget some times get frozen.....but good app

That's a very polished app, I really like this Zune look and feel. However, I also enjoy the convenience of having my music library available everywhere with Google Music. Do you know any way to make Google Music work with third party apps like this one?

Gingerbread Launcher

I can never give enough praise to our Android community. I truly believe that some of these people never sleep. Yesterday we brought you the Gingerbread keyboard which was easy enough to flash through ROMManager. Today we have the Gingerbread Launcher, as an application in the market. How much simpler could it be? Thank you Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo for making this launcher so easily accessible. This application is only available for 2.2 devices.

I like it
Very nice! I Like it too...too bad we lose all the sense widgets...I kinda like those.
But all and all, he pulled a good one again
I found this a few days ago but forgot to post it here. Works very well on the legend.
works very well, nice looking too
but it seem to lack any customising options (ie have sms instead of browser ect)
or am i just not looking hard enough
but thanks for this
I think you're looking hard enough, it's just not there...I guess awd beats this one...way more customizations
I've never been able to fiddle with any of the stock ones. Just how they are.

terrific new android music application for mini and mini pro

Hi music lovers,
want to share with you a beautiful and (perhaps the)latest android music application(I believe this is designed for honeycomb) that I came across just this morning.I have installed it on my mini that runs on NAA's CM1-RC1 and it really works great. It should work with Owains gigglebread also since the minimum requirement seems to be 2.2(Froyo).
A good samaritan has already reported that this works very fine with mini pro as well!
Check it out and enjoy.Just install and dance away!
And do take the effort to press the 'thanks' button as a token of your acknowledgement/appreciation.
Best wishes.
wow thats really great .. i am loving it ..
Thank you. It's sound quality is also good....I am running it on Floyo - v3.6. just put it in system/app and changed permission. Working and looks good.

Just tried this on CM6, works fine, fast and smooth (way smoother then winamp), and no graphic clipping issues.
Has a simple widget that shows Song Name, play/pause and next button.
The MIUI Music lockscreen also works for this one, so has all the featured I need and does so in a smooth and fast interface, thanks for the share!
Thanks!! this player is awesome, also it comes with only widget that works practical on the mini.
Better than PowerAMP?

hi guys,
i need a music player that play a particular folder of my sd,
example: i want play only the folder named "music" on my sd without create any
playlist or similar...does this app make this?
You can use MIUI Music, it has an option to choose which directories you want to play, this app does not.
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010394&highlight=miui+music
good player, but with poweramp I use the built-in equalizer, it is much more customizable and I can play music in the folder.

thank you for this excellent tip

What would be the best music app ?

hi all , just wanted to hear some opinions from you people about the best music app/ mod out there..i tried stock , ICS , and MIUI mods they are great but a little flawed
-ICS looks great and smooth but lacks features ...and the widget lacks a back button and don't have album art =(
-MIUI looks great and has quite some features like shake to shuffle and album finder but it's very lagging and lyric function don't work , it still great thou bbut lags too badly
-stock is stable and has a cool gesture function but it also lacks a back button on the widget and don't have much to offer ..so whats player have the best combination of functions , design and smoothness in your opinion? do note that all thewse players are great! but for some reason i have this urge to find something better! so do enlighten me!

there are a lotta players, each has its own features and lacks some too,i tried a lot too,but finally sticked to walkman mod
thanks for the suggestions ..can't find ubermusic apk files and player pto says i parser error =( so i tried a walkman black themed mod and it's pretty good...gotta try it for a few days!
The only beautiful thing of UberMusic is the way how it searches for pictures of artists and put them as background while playing music. But no searching engine, no filtering music and no lockscreen controls are not enough for me. I asked for my refund.
The best for me until now is PowerAMP. It has a lot of options for an almost perfect playing. It's a pay app but worth it.
And the default music player of Android 4 is good too, but kinda slow running in X8, so for now I don't use it.
U can try PowerAmp from market..
It's good and the widget is cool too..
Also, TTPOD is great too, with tons of skins u can dl from the app..
But im using ICS music app bow

You know? I decided to give a "second chance" to UberMusic, after I read to learn how to use it.
I've testing it for three days. It runs faster than PowerAMP, wich started to give some errors btw, like getting stuck when I launched it or not searching right for music. I don't know why this happens.
UberMusic runs faster than PowerAMP in my X8 with GingerDX v021. I doesn't have a search option, but I like the letter menu. I think it's more practic to search for music by alphabet than typing the name of the songs, specially when you have to do it with only one hand in portrait mode.
PowerAMP still has more options, but those bugs bother me. Hope those errors are fixed in the next update. But for now I'll use UberMusic as my default player and I recommend it.
I use PlayerPro simple and very nice...
I'd say check Real Player. It can play both music and videos.
Sleek interface and it also has a neat function that allows you to control the player even when the screen is locked.
walkman player is suitable for me.. i like to keep it simple...
Cube Player.
I just like its LITEness. Lacks of some features other players already have. But for me it worth it.

i use stock player of gingercruzt rom and also recommend PowerAmp last version
I still belive that w8 music player is the best but on custom rom i use ics music
U should make a poll and include some players and u'll see then the most used one
For me, TuneWiki, I learn Lyrics very easy
TuneWiki is great since it shows the lyrics. I wish Google would improve the stock player.
CloudSkipper is the best try it. you wont regret.

A MUST-SEE Launcher!

I just discovered this launcher while installing a rom for my brother's Vodafone 858. I think many of us don't know this launcher, so I'm here to share it!
It's called 360 Launcher, and it is one of the best ones available for Android!
It uses only 2-3 MB-s of RAM, there are many themes for it, many effects, and it runs very fluidly on our GT540!
It also supports ICS animations, while most launchers don't, even Go Launcher uses the GB ones.
Also check out this xda link, you can have lots of information there.

Best launcher for Photon 4G? Or custom ROM?

I'm the proud owner of a Motorola Photon 4G as of today. This is replacing my Sensation, and will only be used internationally (Asia, so 900/1800 Mhz 2G and 2100Mhz 3G).
Now, I see that there is a way to get rid of the Sprint hands-free activation on every boot, and I presume I can delete some of the Sprint bloatware as well. I noticed that the stock Blur launcher is kinda laggy even scrolling from screen to screen, but the rest of the phone performs very well. So if I do get a different launcher, what should I get?
Otherwise, should I do a custom ROM? I've had every phone of mine all ROM'ed up but I don't know if its worth doing that to a Motorola phone since they usually have encrypted bootloaders. Any stable ROMs that are well-suited for international use?
Im using Nemus Launcher. Its not too bad.
Good luck with getting rid of the lag tho. My whole phone is laggy even with another launcher.
If you unlock, try this ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587770 Sprint bloat is removed, rom is fast, works great. Or you can use Loki's bloat remover. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575259

I use Launcher Pro with ICON Pack in it..
Its butter smooth and i have 450mb Ram free all time
I have no lag at all -- I'm using Go Launcher, and have "DeBlurred" the phone as bricky23 mentioned (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575259
).
Also just fyi, I've read that some folks feel a daily reboot does wonders to keeping the Photon running smoothly (just opinion, no facts/data to back that up).

I'm currently using MX Launcher. It's got some nice features, but shallow customization and some weird quirks. See my list of caveats in the topic about it. I still think it's worth using, but it's nowhere near as polished as some of the others.
I rephrased my issues with it to a more positive light and emailed the developer. I'd like to see this launcher get better as it does a couple things really well.
1. Cover screen. The center icon on the dock (and you can't change it) brings up the cover screen, which has a clock which follows you based on the tilt sensor. There's a power control widget here, the clock is beautiful, and it has some preset launcher icons on it. You can change them (open the clock by long-pressing 12, 3, 6, or 9 to set that icon) but you can only pick from a few and you have to use stock apps.
2. Long-press icons brings up a menu. Other launchers have this, but in MX, you can hit Info to pull up that app's Settings > Applications > Manage Applications page. Good for clearing the cache or force closing it.
Don't bother looking at the skins. Half are incompatible with our phone. The other half cost money. There is one that is free and compatible, but it's just a cover screen. No home screens. Might be a bug but I removed it promptly.
Thanks for the advice, y'all. I rooted the phone today and deblurred it already. I'm quite liking ADW Launcher right now. What's a good AOSP icon pack I can download? I'm not familiar with customizing launchers.

Thanks, I downloaded a free ICS icon pack/theme. My phone works pretty well now!
However, I'm sad that it doesn't play a bunch of my video files that always used to play on my other devices, mostly HTC ones but some AOSP as well. When I downloaded MX Player to view them, it told me that it is using SW decoding.
Is there a way to get better support for media files? The videos in question are plain old mp4, downloaded from Youtube. Some 480p, some 720p and a couple 1080p which worked on my Sensation, so I thought they'd work on the Photon as well since it has a similar chipset.
hi just curious,
which one is better on photon
ADW launcher
or
Go Launcher ?
and if we apply the "deblur" mod, how to get rid of the ADW to replace it with the Go launcher ?
I think GO is better than ADW but if you ask any 2 people, you're liable to get 2 different answers. I can't tall ya why I prefer GO. For one, it's free, but then again it pushes its widgets and locker on you. Two, ADW rubs me the wrong way. I don't know why. So no real, valid reasons. Try both. Use both, use Home Smack to switch.

I normally use adw ex but i got bored with that recently and have been using launcher 7 which is a windows phone launcher and i love it works great and is a nice change
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
Welp, I did some more reading and found out that since the Photon uses a Tegra 2 chipset, it is very picky about what it can decode in hardware. Luckily for me, a lot of my simple stuff works fine in SW decoding mode with MX Player. However, 720p and 1080p videos will need to be recoded.
I'm gonna try using Handbrake and report back. Too bad I don't have a more powerful CPU to re-encode stuff. Re-encoding stuff is why I was wary of my Zune client (I also have an HTC Titan).

I've used MIUI extensively when I had an EVO and a Defy, and I loved it. At this time, I didn't feel like it was the best since I want a stable experience and stock seemed the most stable.
Maybe when there's an ICS MIUI based on a stock Moto ROM.

Thank you for the analysis. I'll make a comment in that thread since I'm using GO Launcher now. Thank you for your work on Deblurring the Photon!
I've found that even though ADW uses less memory, GO Launcher seems to run smoother. Luckily, the Photon has 1GB of RAM.
I would definitely recommend going the custom rom route.
Right now I am using cm7.2[kang] with jokers 1.3 oc kernel and it works great. This is the most stab, much faster than stock although the battery only lasts about 4/5 as long for me. I have tried cm9 but there are still many issues right now and I am waiting for some of these to be ironed out before switching over.
As far as launchers go, cm7.2 came with ADW installed stock, and it is very snappy, especially if tuned to take out extra visual effects etc.
