On the Net appeared some phones equipped with Mediatek Dual Core processor MT6577T, allegedly clocked at 1.2 GHz
On the Mediatek site there is no mention of such processor.
I do not mean that it was simply an oveclocked MT6577.
Someone?
Pietro from Italy
i have mtk6577 and we can't overclock to 1.2, when seller say 1.2ghz it is 1ghz 6577 and gpu 0.200ghz. so 1.2ghz
The MT6577T does appear to be an actual variant of the MT6577 processor indeed running @ ~1.2GHz.
The Lenovo P770 is sporting one i believe.
From what i`m seeing on most Chinese sites its listed as an Arm Cortex A7 dual core. So it can be a completely diffident soc . Also MTK has changed to the TSMC 28 nm process for the 6589 so they might have changed the process for the 6577 also . That would mean a Freq bump and lower power consumption .
mt 6577 run on single core1 ghz cpu. and mt 6577t run on dual core1.2 ghz cpu.
example lenovo a800 use mt 6577t that's run on dual core 1.2 cpu

Thats wrong, the MT6577 IS dual core! MT6575 was single core....
I dont think that they started to manufacturing newer MT6577 variants, because it is already on the market: the 28nm dual core MT6588.
The 28 nm quad core is MT6589 (to round up the whole scene). MT6588 and MT6589 are Cortex A7 variants (way more less power consuption as cortex A9), and comes with SGX544 GPU so they are preferred.
To be more confusing: i remember when mediatek started to sell the first dual core mediatek CPU-s: they called them MT6575T, and later renamed it to MT6577. Now it isnt the case. I think T is simply the sign of the extra +200 Mhz

website only gives cortex A8
is it a Qualcomm Snapdragon or a tegra2 or a TI?
what version kernel is it running?
Its a Qualcomm Cortex A8 It could have a snapdragon based GPU or Adreno might be the same type dunno.
Hi
I just want to know a couple of things (NOT that I would ever try this myself but im interested in the info).
1) Is it possible to install quad core firmware on dual core tablet?
2) Is it possible to 'spoof' the android system into thinking 2 CPUs are 4?
3)If you install dual core firmware on quad core machine will 4 cores or 2 show up?
Thanks in advance Ive just bought a very dodgy tab that isnt what it claims and I need to identify it.
Cheers
Chris
1) It seems not possible.
2) Some intel processor could process 4 thread in 2 physical core like intel Z2560 for android, but still it's still probably counted as dual core anyway. I don't really know the details since I don't have any intel android device.
3) I don't know.
Hey people.
I was wondering if there is some rom for this tablet/phone.
The specifications of this tablet are:
Chipset: MTK 6577
Android : 4.1.1
CPU: Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9
And if you need more information just ask me Thanks
Hi, I have a question. How I can overclocking my processor and gpu? My phone is star q9000 rom miui v5 and processor mediatek mt6589
