[Boot animation] bios bioot animation

Hello Y'all!
I've created a bios-like boot animation for our wildfire:
The idea came from frysee (original thread here), but I've build all the files myself.
There are two way's to put it on your phone:
With the use of ADB:
1. place the attached bootanimation.zip in the tools folder of adb
2. open the command prompt and cd to the tools folder
3. type "adb shell" and press enter
4. type "mv <path-to-bootanimation>/bootanimation.zip <path-to-bootanimation>/bootanimation.old" and press enter
for example: mv system/media/bootanimation.zip system/media/bootanimation.old
-> now you have a backup of your original boot animation
5. exit
6. type "adb push bootanimation <path-to-bootanimation>" and press enter
for example: adb push bootanimation system/media
7. type "adb shell bootanimation" and unlock your screen. You should see the new bootanimation. Press ctrl+c to stop.
Click to collapse
New to adb -> link!
You can also replace your bootanimation by using a root explorer:
frysee said:
store on root of SD card
open root explorer make sure to make R/W
go to SDCard and copy file
navigate to bootanimation path (*)
rename bootanimation.zip to something else (bootanimation1.zip)
paste file and rename bios_bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip, if necessary
exit root explorer
reboot phone
Profit = Enjoy Bios boot animation!
Click to collapse
What is the right path to you bootanimation?
frysee said:
The right path for your bootanimation differs between devices and even ROMs, so it is hard to list the right one for every setup.
However, you should be able to track down the right one by looking for an existing bootanimation.zip using Root Explorer or ADB.
Most likely it will be one of the following:
/system/media (try this first)
/system/customize (some Evo ROMS seem to use this one)
/data/local (should work an nearly all ROMs, as long as there is no bootanimation on /system)
Click to collapse
I can only tell that on cyanogenmod 7, the boot animation is indeed stored in system/media.
When you are on a stock rooted Froyo ROM, you can folow the explanation of laraz (thank you for this, laraz!):
laraz said:

navigate to bootanimation path (#)froyo system>customize>rescource- paste over exsting bootanimation.zip done
rename bootanimation.zip to something else (bios_bootanimation.zip)
exit root explorer
reboot phone
Click to collapse
The speed of the animation is adapted to my phone: normaly I can only see it untill "activation root access SUCCEEDED", then I can enter my pin.
To adapt the speed of the animation to your phone/ROM, you can change the frames per second:
1. extract bootanimation.zip in the attachment
2. open desc.txt in notepath or similar program.
3. you see the folowing
Code:
240 320 4p 1 0 androidp 0 0 part1
the third number (in this case "4") is the frames per second.
4. adapt ONLY the third number to the desired amount of frames and save the file.
5. put android, part1 and desc.txt again in a zip-file. Make sure that YOU DO NOT USE ANY COMPRESION or it will not work!!!! (in WinRAR: use "compresion method: store")!!
6. Now you can try your new bootanimation!
Click to collapse
Enjoy!

Yes, but only the relevant ones (and they are png's, not jpg's). But I have the original psd photoshop files so it wasn't that hard, 20 min of work, I think.
Erwin
Thanks ErwinP, bootanimation is great. Work fine in CM 7.0.3
Excellent job!

[BOOT ANIMATION] -- Homer Simpson goes crazy

For my first post on this fine forum, I'd like to share this first version of a custom boot animation for the atrix.
It's the part from the halloween special where Homer goes nuts in a kind of The Shining remake.
Look like this.. :
www . youtube . com/watch?v=R9Od7_A4H54
I had to do it!
I'll upgrade it to a longer version (it doesn't cover my entire boot sequence right now) as soon as I have time. Tips welcome.
--- INSTALL NOTES FOR THOSE TOO LAZY TO SEARCH THE FORUMS ---
The zip file contains an .ogg file and a bootanimation.zip file.
You want root explorer - mounted /system read-write.
Copy homer.ogg to /system/media/audio/notifications
Copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media
Reboot and rejoice.
Fail.
Can you make a spiderpig one, that would be epic!
I second that.
Pls pls make spider pig

Some video game console boot animation for Sony Xperia SP

Introduction
Hello everyone I am a newbie here and this is my first time making a working boot animation on my Sony Xperia SP ( this is my only device so if you don't have a Sony Xperia SP you can try to test it and if it work for your device tell the other so that they know it is compatible with their device or it's compatible with all device but wrong resolution ) but for some reason the boot sound is not working but if you guys got it working please tell me how. Also sorry for not showing you what the boot animation looks like due to being a newbie unable to post a link + gif file turn into jpg and mp4 being an invalid file :silly:
My boot sound problem:crying:
The boot sound I tried to put in system/media android_audio.mp3 not working system/media/ui PowerOn.ogg or PowerOn.wav not working putting the sound in the bootanimation.zip ( the sound file in bootanimation.zip name is bootanim.mp3 )still not working write s bootanim.mp3 in desc.txt still not working but one worked but that is not my bootanimation it is a xbox boot animation with sound for Sony Xperia SP user and all the boot sound location or whatever I tried above permissions is R-W-R-R
Others
my Sony Xperia SP android version is jellybean so there is no need to ask my android version ( just in case if it is kitkat ) because someone said boot sound don't work on kitkat
Before install wisdom
And whatever you do don't ask me how to fix a problem because I have no idea how :silly: except restoring from a nandroid backup of course and flashtool maybe
How to Install custom boot animation for beginners :highfive:
This boot animation is not flashable.
I think everyone already knows how to install boot animation right? :silly:
If not don't panic just install the zip copy or cut it to you phone (if you install the zip via PC, laptop or mac or whatever)
using a root file manager rename the old boot animation located at system/media, data local or system/customize/resource to something else :silly: or move it somewhere else or delete it then move my bootanimation.zip to system/media usually it's system/media your choice now change the permission to R-W-R-R reboot and enjoy?
Don't understand? it ok here is the simple way install boot animation factory open it and click flash to phone or something like that :silly: connect your phone and choose boot animation ( and find where is the zip located? ) now click flash to phone
optional: under the select name for boot animation you can scroll ( I think the action is called scroll to the right to choose boot sound ) find the boot sound location choose it and flash to phone
Still don't understand? don't worry I got this install rom toolbox lite or rom toolbox pro or bootanimation( by JRummy Apps Inc ) via google play and open boot animation after install if you use rom toolbox go to interface by sliding to the left ( I meant your finger ) and select boot animation give root permission duh don't deny it :silly: and go to local and find my boot animation press it and press install :victory:
New boot animation!!! :victory:
