Hello everyone! Heard a lot of good things about this site so thought I'd sign up and give it a go. Been having lots of issues with ICS (all three stock releases for my phone - E4GT). I'm fine with running (and actually prefer) EL29 anyway. I would, however, like to give my phone a fresher theme.
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1323763 and thought it was beautiful, plus everyone raved about it. But...the Download link is dead. The last page of the (closed) Thread suggested anyone looking for it see if someone could email it or link a working Download mirror. I tried looking everywhere, but can't seem to find any active mirrors, so would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?
Thanks so much and sorry if it's posted somewhere and I missed it!

Thanks to this wonderful forum and the smart guys here I have successfully flashed my Cingular 8525 to the newest stock HTC ROM. No problems, no worries, no questions with that.
But along the way I was having problems downloading the ROM from (I think) Rapidshare and I somehow came across a beautiful page that had all the applicable ROMS for this phone posted in one nice easy place. Had Cingular ROMs, HTC ROMs, different versions, etc. I thought I saved the URL, but didn't. And of course now I can't find that page to save my life.
And yes I have searched, high and low, both here and at HTC. I even went through my browser cache trying to figure out where that page was. But alas, no joy.
If anyone knows what page I am talking about, please post the URL for me. Thanks in advance!

MS forced XDA to STOP hosting the ROM's. They are mostly RapidShare Now. The list is still in the Wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
Just another reason for me to dislike MS...
Anyway, thank you for the info.
Hi all, I am new to the forums (lurking for ages though) so far i have asked three questions and have had many views with no responses - im hoping this post sparks more interest.
Would it be possible to make a sticky for G4 roms? a link to each thread about the rom and a link to something other than rapidshare? it doesnt work for south africa. I have gotten the hang of flashing and am sadly but blissfully spiraling into the "flashing addicts" arena, so far (since yesterday) i have panicked, installed an original kjam rom, the XM6r5, the artemis touch (no luck and i panicked again - not for the wizard, oops, duh) and now i am on black diamond 3.1. I would like to try the NBD and Jaguar roms but cant download them off rapidshare
I am sure there are many more great roms out there, i just cant find them in the forums - i even tried searching for ROMS but little luck. So my thinking is, if there were a thread just for posting links to the various G4 roms it would make everyones lives alot easier... and perhaps an alternate download site - i noticed that i am not the only one stumped by rapidshare.
by the by, i cant find the threads where i originally got the XM6r5 and black diamond roms from so i just wanted to say thanks to the developers for the awesome work.
you should be able to go through a web proxy to download off rapid share. thats what i do. pretty much any proxy that ends in a .com should work.
Hands up, I have to be honest, this thread is basically a duplicate of one I already started elsewhere but it's just gotten buried in that section and I doubt I'll ever get any help with it.
As I said in the other thread, I'm wondering if it's possible to embed switches/toggles for functions like bluetooth into a live wallpaper.
I mean, I know that live wallpapers can respond to touch input, I'm just not sure if they can be used to control other functions within the handset itself.
If that is possible, the next problem is that I have no idea how to create a live wallpaper.
Any/all suggestions, advice, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Quick bump in case anyone can help...

=)
Top two work best bud, good luck! That would be pretty cool if you incorporate that though.
Because, of course, I'd never thought to actually try finding out the answer myself(!)
Pretty much every link on the first page of that search I've already looked at.
But answers aren't hugely forthcoming, especially about being able to control the bluetooth status, and the guides aren't the clearest for someone who has no idea what he's doing like myself.
I asked here in the hope that someone with some expertise might be able to help.

Try that
Thanks for the link, I'll look into that.
One guy mentions 'livemake' which I've not encountered so far.
The second one just uses 'Custom Creator 2.6' which I'm already familiar with and isn't remotely capable of what I'm trying to do - it can only produce basic animations.
I'll definitely chase that up though, thanks.
Anyone out explain the issue with the bluetooth pairing on this thing. I've tried to pair a couple different phones but no cigar. I looked all over this forum to see if there was a fix but haven't seen a solution only other complaints. When I flash to a new ROM will that fix the poblem? If not how? What did you guys do?
Are you trying to use stock rom? Most people here have no idea how stock rom performs with most functions.
You might want to visit my page gtab for dummies.
Awesome website!
I checked out your web site earlier today from the reply you gave me last night on some other stuff. I can't tell you enough how appreciated this site is. I read every last word of each section and have a much better understanding. I would like to have a better understanding of each ROM. Like what would make me choose one over another? They have to be reasons to pick one over another. What does one do that the others don't? On your web site a brief description of each one could help us dummies know which one would serve our needs better. It's just an idea that could cut down on future questions. I love the site and will be visiting often. Thanks for all of that effort GoodIntentions!
Good idea.
Pros and cons
I thought about this a bit more. Maybe a list of the pros and cons for each ROM could help. If I knew the down side for each ROM it would definitely push me in one direction or another.
I agree with the Pros and Cons idea, I'm in the process of trying to work one up, but alas its seems my knowledge has become slightly outdated don't you hate that? Running CM7, I've got lots of cons but compared to what I had before I stuck with it. Switching to VeganTab I'll let you know how that goes but I'm thinking it may be a permanent switch.
I've never had any trouble pairing with my phone with the roms I tried. Make sure your gtab is visible.
Just wanted to throw this out there...
I started a tumblr account to start reviewing ROMs, kernels, themes, etc...I like to think I can offer some pretty good insight. I will also post tutorials and such, but a lot of that won't pertain to you guys, as most of that is just taken (and credited) from here.
Along with the reviews, I also mirror whatever I'm reviewing so I can provide a direct download link (with ge.tt).
Check it out, tell me what you think...just started a few days ago, so don't hammer me too hard.
