Called sprint today cuz my girlfriend lost her phone. So of course we have insurance. They connected me to insurion and they were out of the of HTC evo so they said cuz the evo 3d is a similar device she could that one instead. So .ow we both have the evo 3d!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, this happens all the time not just in the cell phone world....
I've seen it done with electronics, shoes, tools, etc etc
Easier to solve the problem now than to prolong the situation...

funny, i didn't ask you what it sounded like. Let me know what I said in my post that hinted I was going to deliberately break my phone.
I don't think it's fraud if he really breaks his phone. He's still going to have to return it to sprint.
I did that with an old treo phone I had before when I knew sprint was out of them and were replacing it with a newer phone.
Just did the same, kinda freaked out as I really like the 3d But they say they're out of that atm too, but it'll be a max 1-3 days before sent out.. I really need my phone before thursday night, so hopefully it'll be here then!

I'm in Austin, and I am SERIOUSLY considering getting rid of my Evo 3D as is thanks to the Carrier IQ scandal.
I've got it S-OFF'd and a clean ESN, and I still have the box and all accessories that came with it. The only things wrong with it are a slight scratch on the paint at the right edge of the glass - the glass is fine, but the metal on the case shows (not even a centimeter long and only on the edge of the paint).
If you'd be interested, I'd meet you at a Sprint store and swap the bugger over - I'd even unroot/S-ON it first too if you liked (HBOOT 1.4)
OT - you worked at BBY? I'm Double Agent 3812, from precincts 216 and 291, then 204 in Austin. Even through I'm Disavowed, good to see another Agent out here.

Its on almost all of sprints phones including sgs2.... only phones that don't have it are iPhones and a few Flip phones .... carrier IQ is no reason to switch. To a phone that has the same thing on it....
Btw the epic touch sucks.... I would never go back to the always hardware borked Samsung devices

I just noticed when my display is off or when the phone is off, I have lines in the LCD. Is it me or do you have it as well? May swap it out if it is only me.

People those lines are the touchscreen matrix. Nothing wrong with them.

Its what registers your finger press, those are the bio-electric sensors
I didn't notice it with my first Amaze, but it really sticks out on this one. I am doing a warranty exchange on it.

It "sticks out" because you know its there. I have sold a ton of them and have yet to see any that "stuck out"

not a big issue if the screen isn't on imho.
I noticed it the first day I got my Amaze and thought it was a bit odd (my old Galaxy S didn't have these lines, they're the first I've seen on a touch screen phone actually) and until you brought it up today I've pretty much forgotten about them
It sticks out for me. I'm just gonna have it swapped out for a new one just to be on the safe side.

I have a brother who's a mechanic so I have that taken care of. T-Mobile sends it out with no charge so I can care less. Jacka$$.
I noticed that the lines stick out very hard when it is cold outside.
I called T-Mobile and they sent me a replacement yesterday.
With my luck, the replacement was water damaged.
I called them and told them and I received the new one today. So far it is looking good!
i notice them too. it is normal. however, i see scratches only when i fog up the screen. I believe it is the coating getting the scratches.

I also have both phones...and i choose the AMAZE over the sgs2. And just like what X said...His Sense 3.5 rom makes this phone a joy to use!
Go with the SGS2 if you want a bigger screen with blobs and ghost lines everywhere.
Go with the Amaze if you want an awesome phone with the best camera available.

Please keep the comparos coming. I have a MyTouch 4G which was having screen issues, so T-Mobile swapped for the Sensation, but I just don't like it. I don't like the shape of it. I don't know. I just don't like it, but loved the MyTouch 4G. I ordered the Amaze yesterday, over the SG II, and need some confirmation from you guys that I made the right decision. I am going to go in the store and take a look at them tonight.

Both phones have screen issues, but the sgs ii issues can NOT be fixed.. ours can, with a download of a free app The rooted version that people are talking about uses more battery than screen filter for the people wondering.. well it uses 2mb more of RAM so i think so xD

The Amaze appears more rounded and sleek than the Sensation and it has lines that probably come a little closer to the MT4G. The SGS II is a rounded rectangular slab. I prefer the looks of the Amaze.

I prefer a heavier phone. Put a well-built phone inside of a case that grips well and it just feels more secure in your hands.
I tested out both phones quite a bit before making my decision a couple weeks ago and ended up purchasing the Amaze. I couldn't stand the resolution on The S2 .....it was terrible, that and didn't care for touchwiz and overall the phone felt cheap.
This phone is definitely heavier, which I love! IMHO looks better built and is faster. I have a buddy with an SgS2 and can't get but 8 download and 2 upload on same newtwork to where I have almost hit 20 a couple times and 8 upload!

I'm glad to see that you hit 20 on download with the Amaze, because I was a little worried, as I was in a T-Mobile store tonight, comparing the two (I order the Amaze yesterday), and somehow the Amaze had gotten network locked, so I could test it, but the Samsung was hitting 18M down and 3 or 4 up. I was hoping that I had not made the wrong decision on getting the Amaze. The white SG II looks awesome though, very awesome. Hi so the other day I dropped my phone cracked the screen. So I've been calling a few places that do screen repair most places don't have the amaze parts in stock. One place that said they did have the parts told me it would be 180 dollars for parts and labor... Does that sound responsible? Or ridiculous ? I don't have insurance on this phone I've reached the limit.

That's probably the cheapest you'll find, I got prices ranging from 100-300 to change blackberry screen which is way more simple to change, I just did it myself, but it's a risky thing to do, so it's upto you if you wanna spend the amount or take the risk to do it yourself.

Hell! I've just did the exchange on that. I wouldn't pay that.
There's still some options. I recently smashed the digitizer on my sensation. I just bought the replacement part off ebay for about the 30 usd and do it myself.
There is nothing to these phones when you pop them open and alot of htc official disassembly videos are on youtube.
Even if you don't feel you could do it youself. I would get the part from ebay and take it Local.

Check around a bit more, don't just give in yet, always good to check for more options, might find it cheaper if you're lucky.
What about finding a used Amaze off Craigslist. I have saw a few for 225 give or take, then get the part for tour Amaze and learn off it in trying to repair it yourself and sell one. May make a profit off it.

This is exactly what I did with may phones from working in a computer shop. Highly recommend eBay. Be confident to open your phone up.
