I have Samsung Galaxy SII, is rooted and also I am using custom ROM (Resurrection Remix) and Titanium backup (not Pro version).
Every time I install a new version of custom rom, I have to configure again system settings (live wallpaper, shortcuts and witgets on screen, configure phone book and sms-mms settings, ringtone song, etc).
How can I save system settings??? So when I install a new version of custom rom and then Play Store automatically download and install all previous applications, to restore system settings.
Thanks!

Hi guys! This if my first post about a strange situation with account and apps.
I have 2 phones:
A galaxy Nexus and an Xperia Ray.
2 differents gmail accounts with sync and automatic backup on.
When I change rom in my nexus, at the first startup I just put my username and password and automatically all my apps are downloaded and installed.
In my Xperia I'll do the same, but I've to open Play Store, click on "installed apps" and manual install my apps one by one.
Is normal that? I'm using the same settings for backup and syncronization for the 2 phones....and this happen for every rom that I've installed in my ray.
Thanks for your help!
Valerio
On nexus devices at the setup wizard there's the option to restore them, I guess this option doesn't exist in our setup wizard
But there should be a way to download all the apps automatically

You can use Titanium Backup from play store to backup and restore your applications.
AW: [Q] Automatic installation of apps after rom change
i think it only works with jb. on any ics roms i had installed on my ray, there was a checkbox for backup and restore phone through the google account. but it worked never for apps. then i installed super jelly bean and checked this option in setup wizard and all apps where automatically downloaded.
After I installed official 4.1.2 LSW, I set the play store to not automatically put a widget for a new app onto my homescreen. Since installing NeatROM 4.8 lite, plus the latest Philz kernel, everytime I install an app, a widget pops onto the homescreen, even though the playstore settings still direct that to not happen. So, is there some other control in Settings or somewhere to disable that?
I don't know what launcher your rom is running but with the launcher I use (apex) I have the option to 'lock the homescreen' which prevents widgets from being added or removed. Have a look in your launchers settings to see if the option is there.......

I just unlocked and rooted my device to install a Google Play Edition ROM. The ROM installed fine and it is great, but after the ROM was installed and booting the phone, the Google Play Store re-installs all of the HTC/ATT applications when re-installing all the applications I had installed on the phone. Is there a way to prevent this? This was the main reason I went to a GPe ROM so I wouldn't have all the bloatware from ATT/HTC. Is this possible or do I have to just go through and uninstall them all? I did a factory reset in TWRP before installing the ROM.

Did you use the "restore account" function when you were setting up your phone? Or whatever the restore function is. Perhaps Un-check that box, so you can decide in the play store which to install.
Yeah, if you like changing roms all the time it's annoying, but uncheck the back/restore apps and settings option when you sign into your Google account

Whenever you switch from a GPe ROM to a stock ROM it'll happen if you back up your apps and restore upon setup. I find it's easier to allow the google restore to take place; go into your accounts apps in the Play Store and click the x on each app you don't want backed up anymore (it'll ask if you want to remove it from your account, say yes). The next time you restore a GPe ROM (as an update, or a clean install for whatever reason) you won't get the extra apps installed by default. The next time you switch to a stock ROM, they won't autodownload, but you'll have to remove them from your account after setting up the stock ROM.
If you use a stock ROM that doesn't have the bloatware, this isn't even an issue.
I've just installed CM11 M9 and the latest 4.4.4 gapps on my S3 with CWM recovery 6.0.4.7. I had to reinstall some of the CM11 apps back in after the gapps install and now have the following problem:
In the Default SMS app settings box, I have,
1. SMS Backup & Restore
2. Hangouts (which the phone defaulted to)
3. Helium
4. Titanium Backup
Although both the standard messaging app and Viber are installed, neither of these appear in the list. Is there any way I can change the default SMS service to either messaging or Viber?
FIXED

Hi guys, I'm having a very serious problem, these days ago, I got a Coolpad 3622a, blocked by MetroPCS, then I was thinking, "I'm going to root", then I rooted the device using KingRoot on the phone, then restarted automatically, and failed, but I rooted again, and it worked, I checked the root of the device on the Root Checker and the root was working, Then I changed the ringtone of the device by the stock old Android, to transform it into Android 4.0 ICS Holo, that this Coolpad's android is 5.1.1 Lollipop, so I deleted the boot animation, the shutdown sound & shutdown animation, and created the Backup folder on the sdcard, before I deleted it, I copied it there in the Backup folder, and another , I deleted some apps from Google and MetroPCS, and left the backup too, and I left the apps just like the Android Emulator, I changed the system icons like Phone, contacts, messages, calculator and etc. to ICS Holo, using root explorer extracting and compressing again and renaming by .apk er I rebooted the device, and the icons worked, even I changed the app drawer icon in Launcher3, then I installed the Android Stock browser, and it crashed all the time when I opened it, so I restored the phone to factory defaults there. settings, then after restoring, I chose the English language, connected my Wi-Fi, and now I'm stuck on Checking connection. How do I do to solve this problem? I restored it, and it was just like breaking into the system of the device. Help me please, seriously!
