[Q] Xperia Neo V bricked after flashing AOKP build 5 kernel - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi. I was running Jelly Bean AOKP Rom build 4 on my Xperia Neo V, KXP kernel and yesterday I thought of upgrading the ROM to Build 5. But after flashing the KXP kernel in the AOKP JB Build 5 package my phone got bricked. Now it doesn't power on.There's a slight vibration when I push the power button but then nothing happens. I can't even connect it in Flashmode or Fastboot mode. I can't even go into recovery mode. The phone is completely dead. The phone is not detected by the PC. Please advice me what should I do now. Is there any way to bring it back to normal.

So I don't have this phone.. but does the xperia have an Odin flash mode? Or is it only fastboot?

Hi mate !
Your phone is not dead, I had the same problem with build5 kernel, and went back to build4 with my nandroid backup.
Take out the battery of the phone, put it again and then you should be able to enter fastboot mode.
Flash build4 kernel, is stable, and stick to build4 until build5 is fixed or another build comes out.
Hope it helps

How can I go into CWM recovery. The phone is not Switching on even after Reinserting the battery

succesfully managed to flash the build 4 kernel. The phone's been drained out and is charging now. Do I need to reinstall the ROm again or wont it be necessary.
and thnx 4 for promt reply

If you flashed build5 you should revert to build4

Dude, i have the some problem.
Please tell me how you got into the fastboot mode.
I took off the battery, put it again and then tried tu turn on the phone without the usb connected, it vibrated but nothing.
Also tried to turn on with the usb cable connected, same thing.

U have to unlock Bootloader to get fastboot mode...either official way or unofficial way...

As soon as you took out your battery, you need to enter into fastboot mode.
I mean as soon as you have inserted your battery, press menu button and connect right away.
I also faced this prob for my neo too. You can also flash .ftf to your phone as soon as you have inserted your battery.

Same issue happened to my Xperia go. Cant enter CWM, fastboot, flash mode, or even power on the device. Cant charge also (i think). When plugging the charger either from wall charger or USB to pc, it just stays in red led then dies out again.
Take note: I cant reset, hard reset, or even power on the device.
What happened is that I flashed the wrong kernel on CWM. After the phone rebooted, it stayed on black screen. Cant turn it off. Until i guess the battery drained out. Now the above situation is happening.
Please help! Is it a choice to open up the phone and reconnect the embedded battery?
I prefer not to do so, if there is an option to fix it. The phone can't charge. Is there a way to force charge the phone without a working kernel?
Thanks in advance!

What's your issue??
Remove the battery and go in flashmode !
Flash stock fw ftf file via flashtool!
Voila, you have your phone back alive!

brother today i got my phone back from sony service centre , thanks god that it was in warranty, my phone was also rooted , boot loader unloacked , but had the same probleum which u have now , but sony centre couldnot able to detect that my phone is rooted and they repaired free of cost,
IF WARRANTY IS NOT THERE THEN THEY WILL CHARGE 75% OF COST OF PHONE, UR WHOLE HARDWARE WILL BE CHANGED.
dnt waste time just go and get repaired , evn rooted then also warranty will be valid , just dont tell them anything......

Im thinking of following ur suggestion, however is it OK to open up my XGO coz the battery is embedded.
If it is, a simple guide is appreciated? Last question, without the battery on, and usb plugged in, can I try to enter fastboo or flash mode? Without the battery on?

Oh...So your phone is xperia Go...
What kernel you have flash?I hope you didnt flash kernel for xperia Neo...if you do that,it might hard brick your phone....

Sorry for posting on this X-Neo section, but this is the only section that came near to my problem. I posted in XGO section and awaiting answers.
This is the first I got. Oh sorry, its not a kernel. I was updating CWM 5 to CWM touch 6 version. Did this in recovery. A flashable version of cwm.
I entered recovery, install from SD, the install completed, Then what I mentioned in my previous post happened. Not booting up. No vibration, no hard reset, no fastboot, no flashmode. Just the red led when plugged in to PC or wall socket.
I hope you can help me sort this one out

neo v
we have same situation, i tried the instructions above but it doesnt work in my fone.

Try this

[q] xperia sola hardbricked help !!!!

HI GUYS
I need help my xperia sola wont turn on or go into flashmode or fastboot mode it just has a red light on when i connect it and when i press the power button the LED light blinks orange
I have tried pressing all the buttons at once... doesnt work :crying:
PLEASE HELP ME PPL i need to get rid of this problem
Your Battery is empty
When the led blinks red or orange he says your battery is empty use the originalcable from Sony
________________________________________________________________
Xperia U - Clean ICS v1.1
Maybe your battery is empty?
If not, what did you do before? Flashing anything? Rooted/unlocked bootloader/rom? Please give us more information
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.1
I have a similar problem with my Xperia U. I only got to unlock the BL yesterday (the official way). Then I put in a boot.img from FXP CM10 ROM for... Xperia T using fastboot and it stopped responding entirely. I give, that wasn't particularly clever, but it's the first time I use FXP and the instructions did say I should use CM10 boot image and that's what I did as there is no Xperia U CM10 image.
I charged the phone for 2 hours from my PC using the original Sony cable and then overnight (for ~8 hours) using a charger from my aged Spica. Pressing and holding the Power button after charging produced no effect whatsoever. Not even a blink of a diode.
I removed the battery and replaced it after ~20 minutes. The Power button still does nothing.
Plugging in the charger lights up the red charge LED, but the screen is off.
Plugging the phone to the PC (original Sony cable, dual Windows Vista 32-bit/Debian Sqeeze 64-bit laptop) also only lights up the red charge LED, the screen is still off. Holding Vol+/Vol- buttons (or both) while plugging in the USB cable does nothing.
Because I can neither fastboot nor flashmode I couldn't use Flashtool or SUS.
I'm lost... What did I miss?
First there is no CM for U, and second you bricked device cause you flashed wrong kernel - its for another phone.
You might flash U kernel from CM9.
Now try charging the phone for hours, then try enter flashmode to flash stock ROM, or fastboot mode to flash proper kernel.

FXP for U is a modified CM9, right? That's what I was talking about.
I'm very well aware that's a wrong kernel I just didn't realise that until it was too late because of the cryptic device coding. I use Linux for 10 years now and it's not my first Android device so I have an idea how this things work.
I already did that. Is there anything else I might try or should I just repeat the charging process ad infinitum?
Once I too flashed a wrong kernel
Xperia p kernel on xperia u
Bt both are novathor brothers
So I still had flashmode
Xperia t is no where related to xperia u
Its a qualcomm
And unfortunately u have a hard brick my friend
U will require a SEtool to make ur phone living again
And its not available everywhere
That tool will help u to write ur bootloader again(i read it somewhere)
The only good thing is that there is no hardware damage
All u need is to get it working again
Google Jtag and SEtool
Read and it will help u

I searched in google and xda for answers and tried some methods to bring it back to life, but nothing works. Help me please u.u, maybe there's something I've missing

Did you try to flash a custom kernel too to see if boots? Maybe from miui since there is a version for locked bootloader too.

yes, but when I try to boot up it doesn't, keeps stucked in flashmode
When i was locked bootloader it happens more or less the same:
Out batery for 5min+-
Then you put in batery
You pluged in charger if will so a red light.
Trie to power on you will see green ligth this is a proces unpluged it..
Here we have to divide:
If ypu have linux conect with flashmode mode and type in terminal usblist it show you a list of plugged devices in your computer take the line of sony erison and compare with the rules you have before mayne the code have change.
In windows i dont know hoq to do it...
Open flashtool preparate the ftf and plugged your mobile phone pres volume - until it start to flashing it forces not to go out from flashmode
Tell what happen

that hapened to me when i've flashed custom kernel on locked bootloader.....my device didn't get boot so i took out my battery & waited for 10-15 sec & allowed xperia u to discharge completely by draining ststic charge left, this can be done by pressing power button..without inserting the battery....
after that i directly booted into fastboot mode & flashed stock ftf....hurray..!
note: this trick won't work if ur battery is completely discharged....so for that use any universal charger..& charge it & the do the above process....
also if u have locked bootloader..there are less chances of getting hard bricked....!

Ur device can bring led will booting
And you can charge your phone

Make sure their is enough battery
Now try unlocking ur device bootloader
Don't use flash tool to unlock
Make sure you done it right
Then flash a custom kernel
If it opens go to recovery and do factory reset
Or
Flash recovery for stock ics locked bootloader
Boot and flash an ics stock based Rom
For LOcked bootloader
Do a factory reset
And done
Hope this help
If I did not work
Pm me I will try to solve this problem
Don't worry this is a softbreak

many thanks, I'll post feedback soon
EDIT: @Mtakween, I can't charge my device, when I plug the wall charger or pc usb (not universal charger) it boots (no sony logo) but like it is connected to flashmode or sometimes the red notification led turns on. I will try to charge the original battery with another method, because I was using a small battery but doesn't fit. For all of this and my locked bootloader, I can't do what you say (flash a custom kernel) or you mean I should try it anyway?. Thanks for your time
@Mtakween I can't unlock the bootloader (bootloader unlock status: no) so I can't connect to fastboot, don't matter what I do. I can still flash stock kernels/roms successfully, but the phone doesn't boot, keeping always with the same behavior: red led notification/green led bar (flashmode) when is connected to charger :/
after try all I can and leave it in the technical service, my device is totally dead. I want to say thanks to all devs and users. For now, I'm out of the android world. Good bye friends

Xperia U-not turning on, red LED stay 1 second only

Hi guys,
I am currently trying to repair my friend's ST25i Xperia U, he encountered random crash and the phone won't turn on. I have tried to charge the phone but no reaction from the phone itself. if I pressed the lock button it only turn on the red LED for a second and nothing happens. I think I am having a problem with the kernel that it won't let the battery charged.
I am familiar with flash tool, when I tried to flash the device will not get into either fast boot or flash mode. IF i connect the phone to PC via USB(holding down up/down for either fastboot or flashmode), it only turn the red LED for a second.
anyone can help? I am currently trying to only charge the battery via universal battery charger, hoping that it is charged and can enter fast boot or flash mode so i can flash the device.
my friend said that it was running android 2.3.6, having a problem and sent to repair center upgraded into 2.3.7, then this random crash happened. I want to flash it to ICS by the way. I had the stock rom ready to flash.
Is there any flashing method that does not require a battery?
sorry for the long post, I hope you guys can help me with flashing

Load the stock ics ftf in flashtool.
when it asks to connect the cable
HOLD volume down key and connect
and then flash rom.

there is no way you can flash the phone without battery and the is the led flashing 3 times when you press the power button?
the problem is with the kernal and it is not charging the phone in offline mode and the only way is to use the Universal charger or flash the phone by using any other battery from a similar phone report after you do it

Try installing the latest version of flashtool and install drivers for xperia u manually
Load the stock ics ftf in flashtool.
when it asks to connect the cable
HOLD volume down key and connect
and then flash rom.

well the universal chraging method did not work, and no one uses xperia U here. hard to find a battery. can you confirm if using battery from similar phone will work?
regarding the led--it only flashes once, and red. this happens when it is plugged into pc/charger.

Remove the battery out of the device and leave it for an hour without the battery and after that press and hold the power button for 60seconds (without the battery) after that insert the battery and try to enter flash mode "have the FLASHTOOL ready to flash a rom"
IF it doesn't work
Just as a last try you can TRY REPAIR using Sony Update Service(SUS) and if it doesn't work either you have to report the service center... they will help you and if it is still under warrenty you can get it done for free too...
battery drained
have you done anything that couldve drained the battery fully ? if so the solution is to continuously charge it ... it might take upto 16 hours or more happened to mine now fixed
did it woks ? after charging your mobile for 16 hours ?

[Q] [q] xperia p wont power on !!

My Xperia P is not powering on.
Yesterday i was installing custom kernel on it. But I missed one important point in the flashing of the cyanogenmod kernel, and ended with a BOOT lOOP. So i removed the battery in order for not to wait for several hours to let the battery die.
Then i fastbooted the phone and flashed stock firmware using Flashtool. The only problem is that now it wont power on. No display. NO vibration. NO hard reset thing. NO soft reset. The device is not responding at all. If I connect it to the PC or wall outlet, red led comes, and after 5 mins or so, it goes off.
I thought i messed up with the kernel or so, so I with the help of rubber band trick, manged to get into flash mode, and re flashed the system with the stock rom.
But AGAIN IT WONT POWER On ! no matter how long i press the pOWer ON key, it wont respond. :crying:
what should i do now ?? please help me.. !
Used this !! n VIOLA ! phone booted ! if anyone else has the same problem I had, do this.

There was no need to remove the battery.
Long press power + volume up until you feel (1+) 3 vibrations to turn the phone off.
The 1 vibration is a hard reset but it won't always happen.
Battery is probably fully drained. You shouldn't have removed it. Connect it to the wall charger for 2-3 hours.
Then
--+ redownload ftf from different source and try flashing again.
OR
--+ Download official flashtool from sony website and flash phone with that.
I prefer option 2 as it hardly ever fails.
DID YOU UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER?

Well Hamzaa Murad, you were right. Battery was fully drained. Well, I left it to wall socket for over a night, but it didnt charged. Somehow, the Rubber Band trick worked and i was able to flash the phone using flashtool !
Ty for the suggestion. :good::laugh:

Xperia P wont boot and if cable is plugged and it doesnt even charge

Hello to all!!!
I have a problem with my XPERIA P(not rooted or unlocked), it wont boot if the cable is on the phone(pc or wall charger) and doesent even charge. When tryong to boot it shows only the SONY logo, not even xperia(which comes right after sony).
Tried getting into flash mode or fastboot mode, but it is the same thing.
If i switch on my phone with no cable plugged it starts normally.
When this happened i had no battery at all. After searching the web i found a guide to open my phone and remove the battery connector. After removing it and plugging back again it started charging. Now it wont charge anymore that way.
EDIT: Mac wont recognize it anymore(mac bridge, flashtool, adb)
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks!
A
Try flashing the phone with stock ftf file via flash tool , you can find plenty of how to videos for that on internet . Your phone will be fine I guess
Search "Your phone model " "version" "stock ftf" download and flash it
Hit thanks if helped

The problem is my phone wont stay in flash mode. It shows up the green led just for a sec and then tries too boot up normaly(green led turns red and shows sony logo) then it shuts down again...
Same for fastboot mode (blue led for 1 sec then again red).
Any idea?
Thanx in advance
@aserreqi
The disconnection issue is driver related. Use windows 7/xp (friends computer) install flashtool and then install the driver pack located in it. Then flash stock ftf.
Before this charge your phone overnight.

I tried with windows 7(sus, flashtool, pc companion) and osx (sony bridge for mac and flashtool) with no results.
I will try again with windows if can get to charge it any more, because now it is not giving any sign of life
Thanx

I had similar kind of issue , phones doesnt stay in flash mode when it should but I managed to get into fastboot mode , IT DID STAY THERE for me and I flashed some other kernel to make it work for few mins as I only wanted flashmode to work which it did . Try charging your phone for 2 hours and grab any kernel which is said to be fine with your phone , either ways you only need flashmode to work. If fastboot is also disconecting even after you have charged your phone umm DRIVERS DRIVERS !
Make sure you have all the drivers installed I always use flashtool, nothing else to flash

I have charged my phone now for 3 hours. The only way i get to charge now is discharging the battery to 0. I have to put it on charge(wall charger) pull off the connector of the battery and then put it again on.
If the phone is a little charged and i turn it on it wont charge any more. No charger or pc works.
I tried again the procedure of getting into fastboot or flash mode, but still nothing happens.
Green or blue led for a sec then tries to boot again.
I forgot to mention that the phone works like normal when not in charge, it boots normally and everything works fine...
P.S. the drivers are installed. I installed them again and again.
Thanx for your help anyway!!

I hope u didnt fry your phone charging ic like i did on mine. Using fake charger and short hv burst suddenly turn my phone exactly like yours. I somehow managed to recover from it temporarily by shorting usb wire while charging it and eventually the phone die. Haha lol.

This is not the same problem.
First try volume up + power for about 15 seconds untill you feel (1+) 3 vibrations to turn it off.
Then try flashmode.
