Newbie ?: I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't figure out the answer clearly after doing a search. I currently have the S3 with Sprint and am using a custom ROM. I want to switch to T-mobile (b/c their service is better in my area) and I know that I will have to get a new S3 that works on their GSM network. My question is will the same ROMs that worked on my Sprint S3 work on my Tmobile S3, or are roms carrier specific? Thanks

First thing to check is the model of the phone. Look on the label under the battery. If it says "GT-I9100", then you're in the right place.
HOWEVER, since you say that the phone was modded to work on Verizon, there is about 0.001% chance that it is an I9100, since the I9100 is a GSM phone, and Verizon is a CDMA network.
The phone could possibly be an SPH-D710, which is the Sprint GS II, (aka Epic 4g Touch), or maybe an SCH-R760, which is the US Cellular GS II. These are the only two CDMA versions of the Galaxy SII that I know of. If it is one of these, for SURE DO NOT USE any firmwares or kernels from this (I9100) forum.
The Epic 4g Touch has a separate forum, and the SCH-R760 doesn't have a forum on XDA at all, at the moment. But I did find related threads for this model in the Epic 4g Touch forum.
how do i flash my phone
i have a samsung galaxy s2 sch-r760 that i bought on ebay. i was told it was flashed to verizon, but it didnt work. it is currently on u.s. cellular which is cdma plz help
My iphone on tmobile pre paid is the worst service and net I ever had.I had a touch pro 2 on boost and I loved it. no problems at all. Is it possible to get the s2 on boost?? Would I easily be able to do it myself?
Considering boost mobile uses sprint network, the i9100 is not compatible. The sprint SGS2 may be compatible, but AT&T and Tmobile SGS2 wont work for boost mobile.
Note: There are a ton of SGS2, it would be better to be specific on which one you are talking about. (i9100, i9100G, i777, SPH-D710, T989(
A sprint galaxy s ii epic 4g touch, yes you can flash that to boost. A i9100 or any other gsm galaxy s ii. No..
Ok good. I know the gsm and cdma cant be mixed. Im getting a sprint s2 within a month and I wanna be ready to flash and unlock. or do I just have to unlock?
Anyway is there a tutorial? what are my options and what is most recoomended?

I'd advise you to ask your Sprint Galaxy S II (aka "Epic 4G Touch") questions in the relevant forum for that device, which is the Epic 4G Touch forum.
As already stated, this forum is specific to the I9100.

The sarcasm is a bit thick there, buddy. I was only suggesting you post on the relevant forum because you'd be much more likely to get someone who knows the answer there, since Epic 4g Touch users are much more likely to see it there, instead of here.
I have purchased and activated a Samsung Galaxy s3 from Straight Talk model number SCH-S960L. My first question is am I able to flash from Straight Talk Sprint to Straight Talk Verizon. Second question is, since I have activated the phone will I be able to flash it at all. I have searched and searched the forums everywhere for an answer to these questions. If anyone could give me some assistance it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx
Ghost
Interesting questions I would also like to know. I'm fairly new to this, but my two cents on this topic is this: from what I know the sch-s960l uses sprints network so if u flashed to verizon I'm not sure 4g would work because they are on different frequencies. Otherwise I wld also like to do this cuz sprint sucks in my area so no 4g for me anyway. But I believe you can still flash after activating I don't think that matters. We need a rom that will not brick our phones or hinder any features while also getting the new s4 features (hint hint). I've said b4 will say again...I WILL DONATE to anyone who can help with our sch-s960l issues

Ok fellas, now before I ask my question, I just rant to let you know I've been a member here for quite a while, and the reason I have such a low post count is because I always do my reading before I waste someone's time.
In this case, all the posts I've read are old and outdated, and none of them provide a solid answer.
So my question here is...can the I9300 get H+ or 4g on T-Mobile network now? I've read first that NO the phone doesn't support their 4g band and never will because it lacks the hardware, that I totally understand, just like the cdma gs3 cannot do the same.
Now with that being said, I've also seen threads saying T-Mobile is adding a new band to support their byop program for people with unlocked phones.
All these I had read had old days on them with the most recent one on Feb 2013.
So does anyone have a straight answer for me?
I have a customer that brought me her fried T-Mobile gs3 and basically I kept get LCD A's transplanted it into a spare i9300 that my girlfriend brought me from Hong Kong.
I know the phone doesn't support LTE and that's fine, it's the 4g/H+ I'm concerned about, and if its possible what has to be done? New modem flash? Custom Rom?
Any help or info is greatly appreciated. ^_^

Hey guys I have tried searching the forums but I can't find a clear answer, if I was to get a tmobile galaxy 4 that doesn't have 4.3. Is it possible to root it and get it to work on Verizon's network?

Well I answered my own question , I'm assuming it's not possible. I just bought a galaxy s4 running 4.2.2 and I'm going to try and root it, been reading like crazy but if I run into trouble and need help, I hope someone will help me.. Trying to do the right thing but no one seems to answer me.

Looking at the bands on gsmarena, I would say that isn't going to work. That variant doesn't have CDMA bands. The reason Verizon to Tmobile/ATT works is because the Verizon phone has the CDMA/GSM bands.
