Wouldn't there need to be the addition of LTE connection code for the models with that capability? Seems like its not completely straight forward, but also not as extensive as the modifications that were required for some devices in the past.
The bootloader is a huge issue. From reading other LG blogs, LG doesn't unlock them and finding a work around hasn't been easy.

There's a chance we could use the Nexus Bootloader. It is risky though and could result in a brick. But yeah, there will need to be some LTE code.

While I'd be fine with HSPA+ as the top end data connection, I'd still like to have LTE, if these brilliant minds can add it in :silly: I'm guessing that if they can figure out the bootloader, then we can have what ever our devices will support.
Bootloader is unlocked, only a matter of time before devs start porting over roms from the nexus 4

Anyone willing to try this? I'm curious as to how it works considering the only methods out there right now require getting superCID then using HTV Dev to get the unlock code and the former no longer works...

To me, you would think this, being a pretty big development, would break here on XDA.
While I am hoping its true, as I am holding off until something like this is released, it just seems a little to good to be true.
But go for it if you want!
Just follow a guide on here, it's pretty much dead simple to unlock your bootloader through HTC. I highly doubt this is legit but in the time it took you to make this post and wring your hands about it you could have unlocked the bootloader, rooted and installed a custom rom.
netstal trembley
im not saying its not legit but, like said a couple of posts above, if it was legit, i'd think it would be xda by now
My theory - If no one has commented anything at all and there's no one to vouch for it, don't become the martyr or the first victim.
I'm happy about the feed back from you guys. This is the reason I posted it here, because I knew someone would have a good insight about this topic.
I'm staying away

Click the download button and it says right there that it won't work. Only supports android up 4.0.3, and no HTC devices although they hope to support them in the future. It's virus free according the VirusTotal, but I still wouldn't use it on a supported phone without confirmation from someone else that it won't ruin it.
Hi, I'm one of the people behind the development of One Click Root. I can assure you our software does not contain viruses or any other malicious code.
The poster above me is correct. We currently don't have support for HTC devices as we're still working on a few of the finer details of automating HTCDev.com bootloader unlocking. We do hope to add support for HTC devices in the near future, along with a number of the most popular new devices on the latest ICS and Jelly Bean OS versions.

It looks like there aren't any ROMs based on the T-Mobile formware on any of the forums. Are y'all getting the same data speeds on the international ROMs? Is there a tmobile radio to flash?
You should be able to flash any in the HTC One Forum. Our device is the M7 so you should have no issues. Only problems some people have been seeing is from ATT so far with roms that don't have the proper RIl files and this is believed to cause the radio to switch from E, H, and LTE chronically.

stupid question, but does flashing the roms on the international one forum **** up the radio?
Only if the ROM includes the radio. As far as I know, no one is including radios in their ROM's. I would personally hold off flashing any radio until we get a flashable zip, RUU, or other means to go back to the shipped radio. Some users are having issues with the WWE radio on Tmobile and ATT. Some may think it's just the rill files too.

I mean, the "you can sort of unlock the bootloader but you can't have S-OFF" is obnoxious but it isn't any easier to bring your phone--if anything, the limitations placed on operations done in recovery make it harder to actually brick your phone since the boot and recovery images are normally flashed in fastboot.
But yeah, Nexus phones are much kinder to tinkerers. News at 11.

Yeah, that's what I did too. Only mildly sad to give up wifi calling; I never go over on minutes anyway.
Can't wait until there's T-mo specific roms. I get absolutely crap reception in my apartment and NO reception at work, so i desperately need wifi calling.
What we need is a good all around android dev /Rom chef to dedicate there time to our branded HTC one.
I hope Roms aren't gonna be generic forever leaving us with partially set up Roms/ having to flash radios constantly and whatnot !Never knowing what's compatible and what's not .
If that's the case I foresee a lot of angry people and jtag sales in the future .
I'd give it a month or two before we have a few 2-4 dedicated tmo HTC one roms 100% ready to flash and go just for us only .

Actually, I was reading up this morning about AT&T ROMs on the Verizon Note 2 and it is not only doable, but also works pretty well. When done from what I just said (Flashing AT&T to Verizon) you are obviously locked out from Verizon and 4G LTE but if you have an AT&T or any GSM SIM for that matter it will work. The only real issue is GPS not working, for some reason our devices don't like the GPS setup from any ROM's other than Verizon's.

same thing happens with t-mobile too. somehow there has to be a way to get the att/tmo roms working on the i605. the t0lte roms work on the i605, so why the hell won't the att/tmobile?

The S5 is even more pointless if you ask me. It's going to come even more locked down than these s4's
Sure people will work hard at finding exploits but its not going to be any easier. Its getting to the point where more an more people will jump ship over to Sprint where you can still unlock the bootloaders.
So what if Knox gets mad and keeps telling you in tiny yellow and red letters during each reboot.

That's a joke right sprint?
People will jump to Tmobile. Unlockable and actually decent and fast service.
Granted the S5 (on vzw and att) will come more locked than the S4 but people (dan rosenberg or someone else) will initially come onboard and find a 2nd init or kexec method. Also vz has the most coverage around the US.

From the looks of this, you just followed instructions from this thread here now, even though this appears to have worked, I would not suggest going through with actually flashing anything or making backups.
The reason is partitions are different across some of the G3 devices and it would not be a smart idea to risk flashing something to a wrong partition, especially since there are 16 and 32 gb models.
With that, it looks like there is a bypass on the VZW model which is a good sign for future use.

Yes we can. This is no different than flashing a custom ROM using safestrap on a Samsung product. I don't think you guys realize how big this is. While its not a boot loader unlock, we will be able to flash custom Roms based on factory ROM.
Hoping we get Aosp soon.
