[Q] How to disable the LED stripe on Xperia U - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the annoying LED light stripe on Xperia U? To me, this is the most stupid feature of all time, since it doesn´t add any value, it is just annoying, lights up a dark room and, most importantly, takes up a lot of space!

The bar doesn't work in cm9 atm so this could be a temporary solution or FXP might add an option to turn it off

Use the Leds u Ctrl app

How can I permanently disable LED bar? I don't want it on even in music app, that especially irritates me. You can go blind when it turns on at night.

Uninstalling the sony.illumination.service package should do the trick I think

Thank you very much, you are right. I just moved "SemcIllumination.apk" from "/system/app" to external memory. You just saved my eyes
Looking at that disco ball is like reading an Elder Scroll

Any chance for post/make script who can remove led light on Xperia U? Trying to delete SemcIllumination.apk, but nothing happens...
Thanks :good:

Use leds-u-control..or program your own script
Search for blink2

I know it's a late reply but I used this app on non root device: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rundgong.illuminationcontrol
Just use the Set theme color option from it and don't change the values (let them be 0s).

yeah there is. one is made specifically by motorola for the droids, I tried and am using it: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.motorola.dlight&feature=search_result
the first time you open it it be be on the "on" position, but the led wont be on. you gotta toggle it off and on again for it to work from then on.

Worked like a charm for me. Thanks
found a problem with it, the LED stayed on when I hit a menu button and jumped to the home screen. Task manager says the app is not running. When you open Droidlight again no light bulb appears. Anybody else have that problem?
Is there a root app to make it brighter? This brightness level won't work for me.

Had the same problem with the motorola app. In fact (I use ADW so not sure if that was playing a part) last night while playing I ran in to a situation with the led stuck on and the app wouldn't relaunch. Very flaky. I think I'll wait until someone makes a widget app specifically for us.

Tiny Flashlight + LED should work on Atrix. Also, it has a widget.

I had the same issue with Tiny Flashlight that I did with DroidLight (I actually tried it first). (Though I will say the LED never got stuck on - it was just slow and would get confused between the state of the widget and the state of the LED).

What kind of led do you have?
Sent from my X10a using xda premium
Hmm, no way to disable it.
It's notification LED, you just can change colors.
You can disable it, but it wall also disable it for everything else, meaning you won't get LED notifications at all.
Interested still?

I'm running Team Rom 3.9. I've noticed that when my phone is charging the LED functions normally until I get a message or notification. With something sitting in the notification bar, the LED turns off instead of flashing like it would if it wasn't charging. I don't know what ROM you're using but if the same thing happens, maybe you could send yourself a message or voicemail to disable the LED. Better yet, put a piece if black electrical tape over it while you use it! >}}}}}*>

Ok then. Today I'll make you two scripts; one to disable the LEDs and one to enable them again. Run them through gScript. Do you want it to disable the LEDs between the buttons at the bottom as well?
Sent from my Snapdragon.
[GUIDE] Disable the charging/notification and hard button LEDs at night
Okay, here are the scripts to disable and enable the notification/charging LEDs and the LEDs between the hard buttons.
Here's how to use them:
1. Download both scripts using the links above or to the left.
2. Save them on your SD card in a folder called gscript.
3. If you don't already have the GScript app, download it.
4. Open up GScript, press the menu key and tap Add Script.
5. In the Name field, type in Disable LEDs, tap on Load file, tap on Disable_LEDs.sh, make sure Needs SU? is checked and press Save.
6. Again, press the menu key and tap Add Script.
7. In the Name field, type in Enable LEDs, tap on Load file, tap on Enable_LEDs.sh, make sure Needs SU? is checked and press Save.
8. Tap on Disable LEDs to disable the notification/charging LEDs and the LEDs between the hard buttons.
9. Tap on Enable LEDs to enable them again.
The scripts are a bit messy and there's a few things I could have done better, but they work for what they're designed for.
Note: LED notifications will not work while the LEDs are disabled. Use at your own risk.
Have fun

LED Notification Colors

Is it possible to control led notifier colors from within apps like go sms and gmail? I know light flow doesnt work on gs3.
Thanks!
I know you can because some of the customer ROM's allow you to select different colors. I'm sure an app will appear soon to allow us this function.

Light Flow works, but you need to be rooted.
Does light flow has fading (breathing) effect?

I don't plan to root so that means I will never be able to control led notifier colors?
You can control GoSMS LED notifications from within it's Settings menu.
Open App>Settings>Notification Settings>Default Notification Settings
Scroll down to:
Blink LED
LED Color
LED blink rate

You can use lightflow. It is not unstable, it just has a bug which enables talkback. You do not need to root your phone for lightflow.
To get around it, go to settings->apps->all and disable google text-to-speech and samsung tts.

i hope you find a way to disable it, try in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194423 someone already removed Qslide apps, maybe also that bar.

Google Play Store says "This app is incompatible with your LGE LG-P769."
What would be different between the 760 & 769 regarding this app?
Don't use google play, just download it from an "alternative source"
