Can anyone here suggest a reasonably priced (i'm thinking no more than $35, otherwise I'd pay the $99 for Beats) replacement earbud style headphones for the Rezound that has the Foward (fwd) and Reverse (rev) functionality as distinct fwd/rev buttons (not click three times to foward or four times for rewind types that only have one button on them). Having great audio quality isn't that important to me (I've used free ones that sounded just fine to me, as I'm not an audiophile at all), and other features like volume up and down aren't important either.
I loved the Beats headphone that came with it but they got stolen. I loved being able to fast-forward and reverse tracks without having to wake the screen up. In general I haven't had luck with the kinds that have one single button and you hit it a certain number of times or have to long-press the single button.
I tried a pair of Samsung OEM ones that I THINK came with the Galaxy S3, and they seemed to work just fine for fwd/rev. When I'm looking at ones on eBay or Amazon its difficult to tell if they are really the ones I want for that particular feature.

It's funny cuz the beats got stolen.

cant believe you liked the beats headphones........i sold mine on ebay the day i got the phone.
Its the music controls I liked.
Its not that I thought they were some awesome headphones, its that they had music controls. I listen to my phone 2 hours a day on the train, and skipping forward and back on audio tracks without having to wake the phone was a really nice feature. I just hoped someone could suggest a replacement that had similar music controls. I haven't found replacements (other than replacement Beats) at any price that had the fwd and rev buttons. I found some that have a single button that can long press or multiple press for similar functionality, but I really haven't like any like that.

Checked out the general section and there are a ton of headphone threads, but I'm looking for something a little different than most of the guys are talking about there. Recommendations on those threads tend to come down to either larger headsets, or in the ear noice-cancelling buds.
What I'm looking for is basically something like the OEM iphone ones for the iphone that will work with the SGS2. I'd prefer an over the ear set, but can deal with simple earbuds as long as they aren't the noise canceling types; can't stand trying to talk on the phone with my ears clogged up! I actually made a pair a few years ago that were just what I wanted; took an extra iphone headset, disassembled the earbuds, and transplanted the mic/cord combo over to a nice set of over the ear headphones that I had. Had to break out the micro tip for my soldering iron, but they looked and worked great. Something like that is what I'm looking for.
So my requirements are:
Non-noise cancelling headset (on top of not wanting to sound muffled to myself when on the phone, I want to use these for walking/biking, and don't want to completely isolate all sound.
Inline mic with call answer switch.
Basic music controls if at all possible.
Decent quality at a minimum. I don't have to have top of the line headphones, but want something better than a $10 pair that you can buy at Wal Mart.
Ordered some inexpensive ones on Amazon that stated that they are OEM HTC Evo 4G phones; got them today, the controls won't work at all and one of the earpieces kept cutting out when I moved the cord at the plug. Beware of them. Found these on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Active-Corded-Earset-Retail-Packaging-Black/dp/B0049SKIDI/ref=sr_1_143?ie=UTF8&qid=1328652715&sr=8-143. They seem to be just about what I'm looking for, and one reviewer states that they tried them out on several Androids and found them to work. Before I ordered them, I thought I'd get some opinions here if anyone is familiar with something along the lines of what I'm looking for.
Im not sure what exactly your price range caps out on, but for 130 bucks, you can get a pair of Bose MIE2i Headphones. They have an inline mice and music controls, certified for ipod/iphone control, but they work fine on my galaxy s 2. They've Lasted way longer than my beats. Got em november 2011, and they still work fine to this day. They have a good stay in ear design, and they dont look half bad.

A bit more than what I was looking at spending, since I really won't use them all that much, but they look promising. "Got em in november 2011, and they still work fine to this day".... hell, I would hope that they would last more than 3 months, LOL. Thanks for the heads up, though. Gonna consider them.
I know Skullcandy hesh have a decent mic with very basic controls but they're bulky. I have their GI and 50/50 right now. I like the GI but they're $80 and too bulky for a headset. Great headphones though.

Hahaha i say that because im terrible with headphones. Every skull candy headset ive owned lasted about 4 weeks on average. My beats solo? 2 weeks before the in line mic gave in, and a few days later one side died on me.

Hello everyone, I'm going to upgrade my set of headphones in the next week and have narrowed it down to the Klipsch Image S4A's and the Shure SE215's. I wanted to know your guy's opinion on which ones are going to give me the best bang for my buck.

I have the s4a's and I love them to death. I had beats tour in ears before and they are way better then the beats. Oh, and welcome to the site
Where did you get your S4A's from? I found them at best buy on sale for $80. I was thinking of getting them for a week then returning them and getting the SE215's so I can compare the two. And thanks I've been around for awhile but I never posted before until now.

I have the S4a's and I like them a lot. Great sound quality (I've tried numerous earbuds from Sennheiser and MEElectronics), multiple tips to fit your ear, carrying pouch. They suggest you use the Klipsch Control app in the Market. I don't know if anybody else with these can comment - unfortunately when I double-click the inline control to try to skip tracks, it will also redial the last called number on my phone, which of course isn't what I want to do. So I actually don't use their app and instead just rely on stock functionality to use the button to play/pause with one click, and I use the long-press-volume mod in MeanBean ROM to skip tracks.
S4 hands down. I had them and loved them. However the audiophile bug bit me and i upgraded to Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 and a Fiio E7 amp lol
another vote for the s4's. I have the reference s4's. I find the quality to be just as good as (with a slightly less prominent bass) my $200 sennheisers.
Theyre not the s4a version, but its the same hardware without the mic and button. Occaisonally they go for under $50, but you can usually find them from $50-$60.
The trade off of the s4a's would be the added bulk, which isnt much, but its enough to get caught on something or snag your jacket, for the functionality of a mic and a single button. I occaisonally find myself wishing i got the s4a's, but i love the slightly slimmer design on the regular ones.
Another reason i went for the reference s4's is because they comes with a little tin box (severely dented now), the size of an altoids can. I'm not sure why it appealed to me so much, but i liked it better than the s4a's accessories.
Can't go wrong either way. They're nice and durable too, but you should keep them in whatever tin or pouch comes with it.
cheers

The double click redial issue only started after jellybean. I tried on my gf's EVO which still has ics on it and works fine. Maybe it related to sense

I can't speak for the Shures, but I had a set of the Klipsch S4's and liked them a lot, in spite of a couple of small faults. They sounded great, as long as I was sitting relatively still. Walking or running, there was a lot of cord noise transmitted and the cord itself was heavy enough to pull the buds out my ears when it was bouncing around (a little clip solved that problem). And yes, I know how to pick the right tips to get the right (tight) fit in my ears. Also didn't like the long-ass straight plug - I prefer the right-angle plugs because I tend to put my phone upside-down in my pocket.
After a cat chewed through the cord on my S4s (he's no longer with us...), I picked up a set of the Ultimate Ears 350 and couldn't be happier. Better deep bass extension without being muddy, better fit, and right-angle plug. Plus I think they're generally cheaper.
Well my Shure's came in yesterday and I haven't found anything to complain about yet. They sound amazing compared to the $20 Sony earphones i had before. The sound isolation is really good on these. With the volume only half way I can't here anything else whatsoever.

I just got some the klipchs this week as well. Also upgraded from a cheap pair of sonys.
These things rock!
Heads up for anybody looking to buy some S4a's. Just got this email today from Amazon. $40. Never heard of Woot but they look legit. I bit the bullet for a pair.

I used the s4a's currently using the s4a2's (the new and improved version). These are by far the best ear buds I ever owned and much better than the beats brand. The control app is s*** because it crashes sometimes when the phone is asleep (meaning, no sure control when phone is asleep) BUT there are other, much better control apps out on the Play store. They are expensive but if you treat them well, they will last a long time.

I've had two pairs of the klipsch s4. Could really feel the lows but distorted on the highs. I still would buy another pair though. These are legit
My s4a's are solid, they've essentially replaced my larger cans.
I wholeheartedly recommend them for anybody looking for a solid pair of headphones. Sure they're not 25 dollar headphones, but they don't sound like 25dollar headphones...
I hope you enjoy them
Has there been any word on the release of this? I haven't seen anything at all for about a month. Thanks
Would like to know too! Definitely want to get this soon!

These are available in AT&T stores now, though its cheaper to get them on eBay right now due to not having to pay tax. They seem to be sold out online, but they are in stock in every AT&T store in my area for 149.00. They are awesome, by the way. Great sound and great design. I had the 730's and these are so much better in every way, especially when running/working out.
Also have these and the prior top model. The new ones sound worse due to lack of bass and overall fullness. Also no noise cancellation. Bummer. They've also bigger and harder to fit under my work dress shirt. Only thing good is the retractable cables.
Picked mine up today and not impressed. I like the design, it lays flatter than my 730's did and doesn't twist around my neck when I do any leaning over. The retractable wires are great I'm impressed with the overall design and functionality. What I'm not impressed with is the sound quality. My 730's are way louder and have more bass. Even with the built in equalizer on the infinum they are not better sounding. Trying to decide if I'm going to return them. At $160 after tax I'm not too too pleased.
Have you tried using another player to boost the bass?
I installed viper it helped a little with the bass. I haven't used power amp in a while might have to bring it back..
Edit: Power amp sounds even worse. I don't know kinda starting to like the headset.
Well after a day of owning these I'm becoming more pleased. While the bass might not be as heavy as I like they're overall pretty clear. Anyone else that owns these know if the call and/or music button are supposed to blink at all? I was under the impression they were supposed to blink red..
I love mine. As soon as I found the equalizer setting and I changed the setting it sounds amazing. I just love them and the sound and I am an audiophile. The ONLY thing is now it turns on and off on its own. It is really annoying. Im going to go get it switched outn other than that I ABSOLUTELY love them for movies, games and music. Some people are leaving ignorant bad reviews o n other sites of it. Have they looked at the manual? Thats what I did. Also the red ring buttons around the buttons not lighting up was a little bit of a disappointment. But I'll live lol

Like I said they've grown on me quite a bit. I contacted Lg about the red lights. They said they're supposed to light up and suggested I return them for exchange. I did so and the new ones don't blink either. Neither did the service reps at the store. So I don't know if Lg has no clue or we all got defective devices, I think the first option is the case.
I have been using the hsb-700 model for at least 4 years and the are still working fine. But this looks like it would be a nice upgrade. The retractable wires would solve my one dislike on the 700, and better sound is always good! I'll have to put them on my wishlist.
I loved the sound on mine, but the retraction mechanism stuck a couple of times in the first few days. I don't think the red actually lights up like the picture on the box. One of the "features" is that the light is not as annoying as it used to be and it was put on the inside of the headset.
I returned them and picked up the 750's. The sound (bass included) is comparable, but not as clear at higher volumes. Also, the earbuds on the 900's were perfect. They are the same size (IMO) as the 700's and fit perfect in my ear. The 750 earbuds are way too big.
So, now I am debating going back to the 900's because they have the best combination of sound and comfort. I'll just have to get a 3 year, $15 squaretrade warranty to cover the thin wires and mechanism.
About to be on my fourth pair of these. The second pairs right earbud quit working after two weeks. Now the third pairs play/pause and track slider arent working properly. Just got off the phone with Lg and theyre going to replace them again. I just hope this isnt an ongoing issue with these. Hope this pair will be my last.
Sounds like i should just shut up and be happy that my 750's work perfectly...
wow that thing looks ugly as hell...
Was sorting out my huge bag of cables/chargers/headphones/etc... (we all have one of those) and I found some old (nos) headphones that I had purchased a long time ago for my HTC HD2, gave em a try and not only did they sound pretty darn good, but the controls worked perfectly, volume up, down, play, pause, double press to skip, triple press to go back and long press for google. Maybe many of you already knew this, I had tried before with iPhone headphones and he volume wasn't working so this a great discovery for me, in case you wanna know the model, you could probably get them from ebay for nothing.

I buy the HTC RC-e160 from MercadoLibre ('cause I'm from Argentina) and have an amazing sound (the bass makes me feel like heaven). Amazing sound, great controls, excelent microphone for callings/Whatsapp/Telegram, amazing sound and.... AMAZING SOUND!
I believe that the models from I found on e-Bay and ML.ar are the same, this is one of the best buys that i made this year, so THANK YOU @hudtwalcker for your amazing discovery
