My phone was rooted with no ROM. Worked fine. Then when I flashed RAZR-UI V7.1(btw its a sucky ROM) I rebooted and did all the steps. Normally a pop-up comes up and ask to enter your sim lock passcode. Well it didn't. Then I went into settings and checked my locations & security. I tried to enter my SIM lock code but didn't work. So then I booted into recovery. Wiped everything. Then flash a Cynogen ROM over. Still no change. Help. Idk whats wrong with it. And I tried T-Mobile and they cannot help.
try this
Get your PUK code from your provider.
Get the screen where you are told the PUK needs to be entered and using the keyboard type:
**05*<PUK Code>*<enter a new pin>*<confirm the new pin>#
That will simultaneously unlock the phone and set up the PIN code.
CM7/9 shouldn't have this problem, guess the other roms lack the fix.
try a full wipe on your device (wipe cache/data, evt. format /system from within CWM)
and flash CM7 again.
Otherwise flash a modified stock rom and disable sim pin and flash any other rom, all should work fine after this.

I've looked for where I can enter PUK code but can't find it.

So I just did a full wipe of everything. Now flashing the CM7. Phone is rebooted and still nothing. I guess I will try the modified stock rom.

click the phone(dial)icon and then type the codes
**05*<PUK Code>*<enter a new pin>*<confirm the new pin>#

So once I enter all that and hit # will it just unlock the phone?

Okay will do.
Okay, so I just went to T-Mobile and received a new sim card. And apparently on the phone it is saying its locked. This doesn't make any sense.
How do I get my S3 to auto prompt for the unlock code? I'm just trying to unlock it for use on another network, and maybe apply a new ROM (I tried Android Revolution HD which looks cool)
I have the stock Vodafone UK ROM on it right now, but can put another ROM on it if I need to do that to unlock it.
It used to prompt me to enter an unlock code, but now it doesnt...
Thanks,
Paul
If you are talking about a pin for the SIM, then this is stored on the SIM so will not take effect if you change sims. If you are referring to the unlock specified in phone security settings, then this will get removed when you wipe the phone (such as when you put on a new rom).Just go back into settings and set the unlock code again.

Hi,
To have the asked unlock code, just put a SIM card from another carrier. You are on Vodafone so put an Orange SIM card (for example) and you will have the unlock code request (I presume you have it?).
But for move to another ROM you need to unlock your phone?
Or try this to unlock your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846451&highlight=sim+unlock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802951
But you need root:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728441

But, first, if I'm not mistaken just root your phone to change of ROM... no need to SIM unlock

I mean the unlock code to use on a differ t network. It should ask for unlock code when I put in foreign sim.
Where us that option in the settings?
Thanks,
Paul
Yes if it doesn't ask, maybe it's already unlocked.

Thanks Viking37...
I have just used the GalaxSIm unlock and it's worked a treat so I'm using my Orange SIM... I expect that the O2 SIM may not be setup by O2 yet. I will have to call them to get that SIM sorted out.
Thanks for your help. This is now solved.

Paul
Does it have a simlock or not?
I have the same status but i unlock sim-lock via code from Sony and status i have like you.
so you think its simlockfree?
Mine is simlocked, your seems to be open, insert different operator sim to ensure.
have no other cards here at the moment therefore the thread
Can confirm that factory unlock has "[ ]" and "5" on all fields
so my device is factory unlocked?
I would think so, but of course the only way to be 100% sure is to try with another card
I too have that kind of simlock config. but my bootloader = Unlocked. so no problem right?
Edit : and also, i have changed its sim before on GB. upgrading to ICS wont change it right?

U have the best of both worlds, fully open SIMLOCK and an unlocked Bootloader...
U can use any sim card from any network, and u can use any rom with any kernel... (if u use the correct ones of course)
And upgrading to ICS wont change the simlock...
Glad to know maybe different countries causes simlock
So the issue is that my device is requesting a Screen Lock Password as I pressed by mistake the lawmo lock 1234 option on the SIM unlock helper application, can someone help me with the leads on how to unlock it??
Pretty sure the only option is to reset at that point.

What do you mean by at the point, I have tried to flash the ROM, Factory Reset, Wiped the whole system using TWRP, but still same issue persists and it will keep asking me for the Lock Screen password!
is it lockscreen or sim lock?
---------- Post added at 15:57 ---------- Previous post was at 15:56 ----------
If sim lock...how many tries left
??
Sincerest apologies as I did not do enough research before attempting to answer before.
2 things to try:
1) Default password is supposedly 1688. I have no way to verify this but saw it mentioned in a couple of threads.
if that doesn't work...
2) use file manager in TWRP to remove omadm and lockscreen apps.

It is a lock Screen Phrase, not a sim lock!
Hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to root Land Rover's Explore rugged phone? I would like to install a more recent version of Android on it because Oreo is quite old now.
Thanks!

I guess the first question is does anyone know if its bootloader is locked or not?

On many phones you can check if the bootloader is unlocked by dialling a code. May be this works for you, too.
To check your bootloader status directly from your phone, you should:
Unlock your Android phone.
Open the Phone app or the Dialer.
Enter the code: *#*#7378423*#*#
This should automatically open a new window.
Tap the Service info.
Open Configuration.
You should see one of the two messages:
– Bootloader Unlocked Allowed – Yes
– Bootloader Unlocked – Yes
The first message means that the device’s bootloader is locked, but you can unlock it. The second means that the bootloader is unlocked.
Thank you for the information. I tried it on my current phone and this works. I have not yet purchased the Land Rover so I cannot unfortunately test it.

I have one Land Rover Explore and yes, once you unlock the developer options you can unlock the bootloader.
