Will the Samsung Galaxy S3 support a MicroSD 64GB SDXC - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm a noob to this forum. I'm upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S3 very soon and was looking at Micro SD cards. I was looking at the SanDisk 64 GB SDXC Micro SD card. I can't find any information regarding whether the S3 can use this card. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Yes. A SGS3 should support any of the following SD cards up to 64gb: microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC
Edit: A source that confirms it: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S3_id6330

Thanks very much for the quick reply and help. Much appreciated!

Hi,
i'm using a 16GB card and it wokrs well. But before changing from 8 to 16 GB i could use my phone after full load for about 2 to 3 days. Since using 16GB i've to charge every day. I didn't change any settings and copied the card using a card reader at pc.

[Q] SD memory restriction

Is there a reason why the SD port will only accept upto 16GB of memory? To be honest, I do not see myself using more, but I was curious as to why it was limited at 16.
Seems 32GB cards are known to work fine

Just saw that on TigerDirect:

Haven't tried it yet but it sounds tempting. Got GREAT reviews, too!!
THIS IS FOR USE WITH THE DOCK ONLY!!!!!
We need micro sdhc card.

[Q] which sd card do you have on your SGA?

hi mates,
I'm having some problems to find a good sd card it works on my SGA.
I tested a Sandisk 4 gb it worked for few days and after my phone doesn't read any more;
I bought a Silicon power 8gb class 4 and i had the same problem.
Now I ordered a samsung 32 gb class 10, waiting for delivery.
Which sd do you have? Some one had my same problem???
This thread can be usefull to identify which sd is well supported by our phone.
thanks

[Q] Do SDXC cards work on the S3??

Hi All,
I'm wondering if 64gb SDXC cards work with the S3...there's a thread that I found on some other forum where people said it works, but I wanted to get the confirmation from XDA pro's...so any idea??
It will work, but beware that the FAT32 specifications do allow for partitions larger than 32Gb. You'll need either Linux or a 3rd-part formatting tool to format a FAT32 partition.
You can always use exFAT on the uSD card, however!
With ICS 4.0.4 we lost the ability to move apps to the SD card, which - for me, at least - was a huge turn off and made an external sd card lose 50% of its funcionality.
Mine is running just fine with a SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDXC 64GB. Installed it in the phone and formated it. No problems.
yes it is supported
They work but you may run into problems with exFAT. I had to reformat mine into FAT32 on an older phone as some music files just refused to show. More details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698672
Thanks a lot for the info guys..very much appreciate it
Mine also workedd , no problem.

Take any micro SD and I'll give you my personal guarantee it'll work, but I used to work for a bank so I don't know how much my guarantee is worth anymore.
