Out of curiosity, is anyone else ditching Samsung after this Exynos source issue? I'm going to be picking up the N4. I just don't believe in Samsung with their claims to make Exynos open source. Besides, Nexus phones are meant for AOSP anyways, making it best for running AOKP and CM no problem. (Muh s2 is on eBay as we speak)

Once my upgrade rolls around yes I will be getting the Nexus 4 (yes I realize there is not much of a point in that) because I want a nexus and I'm hearing great things.

My only annoyance with the nexus 4 is that the most storage you can get is 16 GB. That's definitely not enough for me. I don't really care for LTE so that's really not an issue for me. The phone looks so amazing overall, if only it had expandable storage.

Bummed on the storage as well but I don't really NEED to keep my 17gb of music on there at all times, especially if I only really listen to about about 1/4 of that. Pretty much my only qualm, but I'm getting the heck outta here and hopefully I can really start working with the CM10 Theme Engine a lot more.
I would like to get the Nexus 4 very much, but I doubt selling our SII would cover the cost alone, not even for the 8gb model...

Well how much is our s2s going for in like new condition? Im thinking maybe $250? Or is that too high or low? $80 isn't too bad but then again it is Only the 8gb. I think note 2 is the way to go on contract atleast, similar price.
Lucky for me prices are so high in my country, I can sell my S2 for over $400 and people will still think they're getting a great deal! I sold my Captivate which I bought for $200 including shipping costs for $350 after using it for a year. And yes I am ditching mine for the same reason
I'm selling my S3 probably and going to get the 16 GB, I've always a wanted one, and this seems like the one to get. Ive really been looking for a Nexus of such high quality since my Nexus One, that quality build design dare i say, Iphone like is what i desire

Definitely eyeing up the nexus 4.
I've been pretty happy with the GS2 especially running Tasks AOKP JB rom.
I like most everything about the N4 except the 16gb max space. I'm concerned that I'll need more, but I think I'm willing to try and make that work for me.
Otherwise it looks like a really nice device. Awaiting all the real world reviews and getting my hands on one to play with.
Its looking a lot more appealing now that my USB port is toast (again). Wonder how i can justify 350 for a new device instead of 10 bucks for a new port...

Edit: oh wait, found it : http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/305954/20120228/htc-one-x-samsung-galaxy-note-mwc.htm
according to this article there is a delay http://www.tmonews.com/2012/03/rumor-htc-one-x-one-s-delayed-due-to-chip-manufacturing-problems/
I got tired of htc, all their bootloader locking rules and stuff like that are annoying+I dont like the design of the phones
If anyone really considers that crap (in my opinion, sorry to offend anyone), i suggest he/she should wait for the Samsung S III is much better.
I highly doubt it. It is rumored that the AT&T variant of the HTC One X has been delayed due to a problem with the manufacturing of the Qualcomm S4 chipset.

Smaller screen.
Smaller battery.
NO removable battery.
NO micro SD compatibility.
Marginally better processor speed and camera.
Why would you want the HTC?
My contract is up with Sprint in 6 months. AT&T said they'd "rebate" me $75 to switch back to them.
As soon as the early termination fee from Sprint matches that, I'll be tossing my Evo into the junk drawer that afternoon and getting a Note.
My wife has the Note and I am shellshocked at just how good a phone it is...
The One X looks like a really nice phone but how can you ever go back from a 5.3in screen?
If I would ever abandon my note (not very likely), it would be for the Asus padfone. I owned a transformer and that thing was awesome. The padfone looks to be much better than the One X design-wise, with roughly the same specs. Also, Asus rocks at updating their Android devices.. only ones who get updates faster are nexus owners.
Can't replace battery and no memory card option. Yuck! And I like HTC.

People seem to forget the fact that other phones have smaller batteries because they have smaller screens. You don't need a 2600 mah battery to get the same results as the Note with a smaller screen. Also, I would say the processor and camera are far from "marginally" better considering the processor outperforms the tegra 3.
Also, it will ship with ICS instead if having to wait for this carrier bull****

I thought about the HTC one X. But honestly i am not a huge fan of their design but this one looks cool. But going down to a 4.6 display would prob suck. I dont use my camera that much really. ICS is what intrigues me. Not really worth it IMO.

There is someone local selling an unlocked international version on the GS2, with the physical button on the bottom. Is there any differences in the software between this and the TMO version? If I were to buy this, can I flash and root as if I were using the standard GS2?

I saw that, and read an article that kept talking about the Nexus 7. I had a G2X that a sold and picked up a Nexus S for $165. I don't like this damn phone, so I'll be promptly selling and using the profit for a top tier phone!
Does the S2 feel like the standard cheap Samsung while holding it? Or does it actually have some weight to it? Coming from LG's and HTC's, those things are heavy.
EDIT: The Galaxy Nexus is supposedly available again next week.

For me it is decent enough to look at and doesn't feel cheap even though it's light weight. Hmmm, you should decide whether you want a fast update (GNex) or better hardware buy slow update (Sgs2). Sgs2 is a great phone but samsung has the habit of updating a device for a year and then stop (not 1 year but you get the point). If i had the chance i would swap my sgs2 for GNex but i'm in doubt since i am a heavy user and i use my phone for gaming. Also, GNex lacks External SD card which is a No No for me.

I don't really care for the OTA's, I'll flash whoever put together a flashable version of whatever OTA is released...
I actually ordered a G. Skill 32gb SDHC Class 10 from newegg.com for my G2X, which I don't have anymore, now with the Nexus S, I have no use for the card! The SD write speeds on this phone are HORRIBLE, about 800k/sec!!!
I'm a fan of the non-carrier branded devices for some reason. My G2X had LG on the top instead of the traditional T-Mobile, and the screen hue while turned off was a brownish color instead of a blueish-gray that the TMO version had. I had one of each G2X's and in comparison, the screen for the LG branded was much more vibrant.
Now I have the Nexus S, again no branding, which is another reason why I want the Galaxy Nexus.
I'm confused, to say the least!

Huh? i don't really care to receive Jelly Bean on the Nexus S, the DPI is atrocious on this phone. That, mixed with the screen type don't equal out to a good display. My G2X looked WAY better than this device.
The S2 will get a good Jelly Bean port before the Nexus S will, I'm sure of that.
Trying to get some opinions here. I have a ATT unlocked Note i717 and a guy wants to trade his brand new Nexus 4. I know to some this may be a no brainier but from what I've seen it's not all that. And it's made by LG. I was thinking it'd be a advantage to get and trade for something else but it's not that popular in my area it seems. And granted you can get it for $300 for the 8GB and $350 for the 16gb (which he has).
I love my note and don't have any issues with it really. What do you guys think?
I would do it, especially if it is a straight-up trade.
Yes, it is LG, but Nexus 4 and Optimus G (and pro) are very well-made phones.
Nexus 4 will get updates right away, and has better specs. In the long-run, it is a better phone to keep. As much as I love my Note, I would trade it for a Nexus 4 in a heartbeat.

Well didn't keep the guy waiting and did the trade. It's almost as if I walked in the store and bought it myself, that's how new it is. I'll give it some time to see if i'll grow on it but so far it was definitely a good trade. No cash involved just a straight trade. The guy was happy with it.

yet the nexus 4 was just labelled as #1 most likely to break... atleast 2-3 times a week i see people posting their broken glass nexus phones, happens way to often.
any phone made of glass front and back is not worth it unless your getting some hefty ass case for it. no clue why lg didnt learn from apples mistake with ip4/4s glass backs always broke, same happens here on nexus 4's/lg g's
and yes it will get STOCK ota update faster, but most people run aftermarket roms which get updated just as fast, so i have no clue why people try and use "gets updates first" as a selling point to people, esp on xda
but to op, id go into a carrier that has a lg optimus g and see how you like it before trading just to be sure your ok with smaller screen, i got an s3 recently and gave it to my sister 2 days later, the screen size was to much of a deal breaker.
I bought a nexus 4 a few months ago and was able to get $360 for my note on eBay.
Took a few days to adjust to a smaller screen size but I got used to it.
No LTE kinda sucks but I've been getting over 10MB down on HSPA+ so I can't complain there
Battery life has been somewhat disappointing but the N4 charges very fast and I never find myself going that long without access to a charger
Other than those gripes the phone is really, really good. I wouldn't hesitate taking the N4 over the Note and I loved my Note.

Sinking ship?? I am running 4.2.2 on my G-Note..doesn't feel like a sinking ship to me...and the N4 isn't LTE enabled, and has no SD expansion..and its made by LG...LG has been rather lack luster in my opinion . I dont care if the N4 was the same size as the note, I still wouldn't do it. In terms of Nexus phones, the N4 was a flop. Just my opinion .

Getting an s3 was the best decision I ever made. So much smoother and better imo.
That being said I would take a note 2 in a heart beat.
Flop? The note is probably not going to see official jb and ics is laggy.
The sales of the nexus 4 are insane, the gpu/cpu destroys the notes.
I would make the trade just for the specs the of note is great especially with a custom ROM but eventually it will be outdated you will get more life with the nexus 4.

Well I took the trade and haven't looked back. This is a way ahead of the Note in terms of specs. The screen size was not a issue at all. Don't take this as dogging the note cause I'd pick one up any day, but as far as the market is concerned this would be in the top picks.
For all the comments about the build and it breaking, well to each their own. I've had zero issues with mine. Some people don't really use caution when handling already cheaply made devices. And it goes for any phone that it's possible to come with defects from the factory.
As far as LTE, the Nexus 4 is capable of. With the .33 radio and a custom rom it's no stranger. T-Mobile has only launched LTE in a few cities but it'll soon get around.

I just sold my note today. Waiting for my nexus 4 to ship. Hopefully it doesn't take long. The reason I choose the n4 over the note is that development over at the n4 forum is pretty busy.

So I'm getting ready to upgrade to a Galaxy Nexus for Verizon. Buying from Gazelle, and putting it on V's Prepaid service. I'm right now using a Coolpad Quattro 4G, and am not impressed at all. So my question is, is the GNEX still relevant? By this I mean, am I going to love this phone as much as I hope? I have read some really great things about it, and can't wait to hear what you guys think!
Its a 2011 phone, so probably not.

Depends on what you want. It will definitely work well, while still getting updates from Google, but obviously the specs are not high end. Should be able to find one pretty cheap though

I loved my galaxy nexus when I had it... a year and a half ago. I'm on to the Nexus 4 now, which won't last much longer till the next Nexus.
It's an outdated phone, but still an "upgrade" if you will say, from what you have. If you are thinking of getting one, buy it used on eBay or Swappa to avoid contract issues with Verizon. I was stuck paying early termination fees last year when I left Verizon for T-Mobile.
For the record, I still have my gsm gnex. It runs 4.3 like a champ.

Okay, thanks all. So now my question is this: Whats out there in the 100-150 range that you suggest. My only real requirement is dual core and, strangely, a notification light. Its dumb, but I like having one for.some reason!
