It official, Best Buy is taking pre orders I called my Best Buy and they confirmed. This is going unannounced for now according to a Best Buy letter. Here is the link.

From my Gingerbread Hero.
BB is now my first stop when I get off work.
Still trying to decide between this and NS4G....
It sounds stupid but software wise the nexus will be dominant but Evo's Hardware kills.....
So im not pre ordering till i find out everything is unlocked and isn't encrypted like the boot loader

E3D Is where its at
Finally realized that.
That's what XDA is for right? I think a few devs are moving from Evo to Evo 3D, so there will probably be quite a few stable roms after the release.
As far as a bootloader, maybe someone will crack it? I only hope HTC and Sprint aren't going down that road.
I'm wondering what they are going to want you to put down on it.
Just preodered mine 50 bucks

Is there any advantages of pre ordering or buying from Best Buy instead of Sprint? Thanks in advance.
Just did my preorder. Advantage from best buy is I don't have to send in the rebate. It's instantly taken off when you buy it

Probably being able to preorder from BB would be the biggest advantage.

I've got $10 gift card to use towards something there! How much is the phone when you pre-order? $200 with 2yr contract?
Sprint is also doing the instant rebate until June 4th, and i think the E3 is comming out on the same day? I guess my safe bet is just to go with Best Buy.

Really??? I only thought that T-Mobile was the only one that did that (at least in Puerto Rico, T-Mobile lets you get any phone and split the total cost in 4 payments that get added to your next 4 billing statements). If Sprint does this, then this is a no-brainer.
Pre Ordered Last Night
Pre ordered my EVO 3D last night from the Best Buy on 23rd and 6th ave in NYC.
The store on 62nd and Broadway hadn't heard about it and were a bit ignorant (told me TMO Nexus S works on any carrier, including Sprint and Verizon. Argued it had GSM and CDMA radio in it...)
The pre order cost me $50, which they put onto a gift card and had me fill out a small paper with name and phone number which they entered into their system.
Also, they didn't check my current sprint account.
Hope that helps anybody curious about the process. Very quick and simple when the store is aware of the EVO 3D pre order!

This is very true........ That price hurts my heart tho....The most I paid for a phone was $650 I think and it was because I wasnt eligible for an upgrade and I believe it was either the Touch Pro 2 or that Blue World Phone that Sprint came out with a long time ago...
I paid $50 for my 3vo on launch day
Wiid is good for you
I would never pay more than 1-200 dollars for a phone. Anyone pays 4-500 dollars for a freakin phone to have for 1-2 years is crazy. **** I bought my sons first car for 600 dollars 2 years ago. If i pay 500$ for a phone I can be positive that within the next year or two there is gonna be a better phone out that I am gonna want. No way I'm paying that much

Well this way doesn't involve trading in an EVO 4G.
That 50$ offer is really making me ponder upgrading from my Hero, but can't decide if I want to wait for the GSII Epic Touch to drop in price instead.

I got my 3d for free technically. My local Walmart has it for 98 bucks and at the time (i think theyre still doing this) they are giving 100 dollar gift cards to anyone that gets a smartphone... So basically they paid me 2 bucks to take it off their hands. Being that this is my second one i was scared itd be hboot 1.5 but apparently back home no one buys sprint phones because coverage is spotty at best..... So i ended up getting it with hboot 1.3
And to they guy debating on epic touch or 3d... Id recommend the 3d if you like custom roms. There are a lot more options with roms, kernels, and overclocking with the 3d. I had it and wasnt overly impressed except for the gorgeous display. Damn i love those amoleds.

yeah i had to jump on this offer also. I just couldnt let it pass, I would have kicked myself in the ass.
Don't you have to renew your contract though? I mean it's not like you can just buy the phone for that price without renewing or signing a new contract....?
Wow, Sprint really nuked their trade-in program. I was considering buying an EVO 4G LTE at full price (I am not up for an upgrade yet) in exchange for trading in my EVO 3D. But they are only giving $90 for the 3D! Wow. I traded in my EVO for $200 when I got the 3D. Did they gut the program?
I also considered Radio Shack. I know that last year they were also taking $200 for the EVO. But they are only offering $13! Insane.
It's valued for $120 at radioshack

Should've bought your phone from bestbuy. They have the best buyback.
Up to 1 year you can get 40% back from price before carrier discounts (that's $280) and 30% back after one year.
So I'm planning on using my wife's upgrade on the Evo LTE which will be -$200 but then selling the phone back so I get +$280, ending up with $80 of money I can spend on whatever I want.
I basically got $80 for buying the Evo 3D...

When I traded in my OG Evo for the 3D on 7/23/2011, they were giving $150.00 since they were still selling them at the time and were going to sell for the immediate future. Since the Evo 3D is already EOL for Sprint, they really don't need them so they are priced low.
The 3Ds are still selling on Ebay for $150.00+.

2nd for buying it from Best Buy. Buyback program is quite handy for those who would upgrade often. I can get at least 150 for mine and I've had it since launch.
Feh, I don't get an upgrade until November. Might as well wait for ICS.
I think it's just this phone. It wasn't that big of a hit and the value on it isn't really good. There are Evo 4G's selling on CL around here for just as much as the 3D's are. When I sold mine I wasn't getting any offers more than like $140 or so because that's what everyone else around here was selling em for.

My contract was up April 2013, but like others I called sprint and paid $115(Which will be on next months bill) to move my upgrade date to May so I can get the phone...I didnt think it would work but it did!

Will sell it. Normally keep a decent phone spare in case phone is stolen/broken, but as wife just got a Galaxy Nexus replacement for her stolen Nexus S, we will keep that instead. I am hoping they come out with another 3D phone in the next couple of years as I quite like the 3D feature

Worst case it goes in the drawer with the rest of my old phones. I have legacy devices all the way back to the Motorola StarTac.
It will be my new TEP or insurance policy.
The rate goes up to $132/year + tax+ $150 deductible. Or every bit of $300 if you exercise the policy.
The first year defects are covered by the manufacture.
I believe the sprint buy back on the evo 3d is $110. Not $280 stated above.
Down time is shorter to activate the 3d. I'm not sure if there is an activation charge. I guess there is.
There always seems to be tear down instructions in the sticky sections.
As usual people probably abused the system. And those of us that played by the rules get screwed.
