Hi guys and gals. I just received a good deal on an HTC Rezound. (Love that phone btw) I got it from a guy that already had s-off and locked boot loader. Which from what I read is a good thing. I am wanting to out it to stock.
So I downloaded the stock recovery ph98img.zip (think that's what it's called) ran it, says update successful I reboot the phone and it comes up with a 7.11 mb ota to prepare for ics. I take that ota its gets to the stock recovery goes about 1/4 of the way thru the green process bar and stops and a red triangle comes up and fails I have to do a battery pull.
I am just wondering what I'm doing wrong. I don't have a PC at the moment. So I'm kind of at a loss.
I know the importance of reading before asking so believe me I did lots of reading. But if i did miss something please let me know.
I appreciate anything anyone can offer to help!!

If all you want is the ics ota I would just run the RUU

I was able to flash twrp recovery and got another rom installed but I was wondering why it did that?
To flash ruu you have to have the bootloader in locked state

I would like to say thank you to all developers for the success of my first time in rooting of my phone all the guides were easy to understand so I decided to take the plunge and unlock my bootloader and root to put my first custom Rom on which was Cool ICS v13 to which gave me a problem to solve as I had no wi fi so after a bit of searching I found the solution and then had a fast running phone with no problem and kept updated with no problems
Last night I decided to change to kingcobra 3d ICS 1.6 mange to put that on without any problem
So thank you all for you great work
My next task is to achieve S-off but haven't got the bottle yet to do it lol
But I am reading up on it lol

So I plan on finally S-Off-ing my phone Saturday (most likely) and I'm running the latest version of Stock w/ Goodies. Can I attempt it through the ROM or would I need to flash a stock, rooted version of Sense first?

Who me
Why don't you just flash the stock rooted if that's what's being asked for. I mean its not really a big deal to flash a ROM. Why take a risk
Sent from my EVO 4G LTE using xda premium
I used the faceplam method on stock with goodies and it worked for me perfectly.
I have done it both ways and worked fine. That said its always better to follow instuctions to a T. So depending what method you use if it asks for a stock Rom I would just go ahead and revert back to stock to b safe! Good luck!

I used DirtyRacoon method, it shouldn't depend on the ROM and my rec, try pac man rom or rootbox afterwArds.

Not sure if there is a mod floating around somewhere. Why don't you send mikey a PM? He might be able to help you out with that.

Please decide for yourself what is a good rom for you.
Fir those that insist on posting a rom that xda policy states is not allowed on xda... I suggest that you think twice before posting about that rom, a link, or bashing xda for not allowing it. If I have to clean it up again you will be infracted and/or take a vacation from xda depending on the post. Stop acting like children.
