nope, cant get any mode to appear, I think it`s hard bricked
Sounds like motherboard replacement to me
Yep it looks like yet another S3 committed suicide...
OP: get it to a service centre, it's likely to be a replacement motherboard job.

I have the same issue with my S3, dead, battery wont charge, wont turn on or respond to any input
Seems to be an epidemic going on.
Indeed, I just hope they can replace it for me, without me waiting 4 weeks like i had to when i sent in my S1.
kinda sucks, I will check if I can fix it here for no more than 200dlls, either way I just bought a nexus 7 XD

did they tell you anything about being rooted?
As long as the phone is properly dead they can't tell if it's rooted or running a custom rom... They just change the motherboard and that's it.
Mine was stock rom rooted when it died (no apparent reason - just picked it up and it simply wasn't working), it came back from the service centre with shiny new innards under warranty. Before taking it there, I tried a different battery, key combo for recovery and download mode as well as a jig and nothing worked.

I emailed the guy from JTAG service, and this is he´s answer
This sounds like an EMMC defect that would not be repairable. If you have warranty, it would be advised to use it.
so in this case my option is to send it to mexico and check warranty

no.
They just fixed it.
It's caused by a hardware failure and that needs to be changed before the phone will boot. By replacing the hardware, the device is totally wiped and they can't tell if you rooted or not.

Hello Everyone,
While trying to Flush my SGS2 with a cooked room using Odin my device got DEAD.
This is what happened exactly:
1- After successful room flushing the SGS2 got rebooted but unfortunately it did not loaded the room.(Stuck in boot screen_Black screen with Samsung Galaxy S2)
2- i waited several hours for the galaxy to let go the boot screen but it wont.!!
3- i pulled the battery then put the galaxy back to download mode and retried flushing the room but it was giving the same result.
4- unfortunately after doing the same several times the device got DEAD..
Now:
- I cant power on my galaxy
- When connecting it to PC nothing Happen (Odin does not show any device connected)
- Plugin in the charger, The galaxy got heated.
I am just thinking i have missed up the partition table, please mistake me if i am wrong.
Or any one can help in this.
Note:
- the same happened with my two devices.
- Since Galaxy s2 is not released in my country i bought them from outside the country with no warranty.

yes the 301k resistor does work on the SGS2 aswell.
Just fro your information i have just checked with one of my friends he is having the same issue.
He used the same resistor 310K on both SGS2 & SGS1, unfortunately it only worked with SGS1.
Any way i will try it on my device and come back soon.

Damn, yeh i got the same problem, my galaxy s2 is dead. Won't power on and screen is completely blank. So i'm guessing a jig wont help it, unless proven otherwise.
The same thing happened on first boot of my first SGS2. I pressed the Power Button, played for like 2 mins with TW and then the phone stuck and switched itself off.
Long story short, I couldn't get it to switch on again, so I sent it to service and the response was it had a faulty motherboard.
So I think you should return it. My 2 cents.

warranty is not really an issue, I belive under UCC and under normal statutory law in EU that the retialer is legally responsable for 2 years. If it's unfit for purpose in that time, you simply return it. If they refuse, you ask them to put their refusal on paper for the record. Often it turns out fine
I was flashing the most recent ICS Rom via CWM and and in the middle of the flash, The screen went black. I **** my pants and then changed my underwear. I then tried to turn on the Phone and it does nothing. USB doesn't recognize, doesn't show any signs of life. The phone is 2 days old.
Ive been flashing since the HTC Hero and nothing like this has ever happened. Please advise.
Considering you list your network as Sprint, I'm going to make a guess that you don't have the I9100 and just hosed your device with firmware for the wrong device.

have you tried to turn it on to download mode using the 3 button combination ?
I can assure you that I am on tmobile with their Galaxy S 2. The first phone i had was on sprint like 3 years ago. XDA hasn't caught up.
Ive tried VOL + and - and Power. No joy.

Hello Everyone,
I have just installed a ROM from CWM, and selected Reboot system, and phone turned off and wouldn't turn back on. nothing, completely black, not even boot up screen, nothing, I pulled out battery and put back in, nothing as well. put it on charger and still nothing.
Not quite sure what to do.
Is there a reset button for it?
Anyone any thoughts?
Thanks.
try to get it into download mode...by pressing power button and down button
It's like im clicking nothing, doesn't make a difference, still powered off.
What rom did you flash on your note?
I have realized that I flashed a wrong ROM on there.
It's for N700 the other note. not the i717
[ROM] CriskeloRomNOTE ICS V1 Beta3
Although im CWM it read the file and expanded it.
You probily have bricked your galaxy note as the 2 different model notes, use different boatloaders as they both use differnt cpu chips. You will have to take your phone to Bell to get it fixed or replaced.
Try this method. ..pull battery and put it back in...hold down volume up and down while plugging into pc...
That may get you into download mode so you can flash the stock rom etc

You can try one of these. They're only a couple of dollars and supposed to force the phone into DL mode. I believe someone on the forums said it works for the ATT note:

Nothing worked,
Bell wouldn't send it away because it's been rooted, doesn't that void the warranty.

Well you can try anything you want but there is realy small possibility that you fix it by yourself.
You can fix it with jtag but i don't think you have one because then you wouldn't ask this question.
Samsung service can repair it but maybe they charge repair (but i think they won't if it's still in waranty).
It's not important is cwm you flashed samsung or not because flashing any cwm that is not made for your phone will cause brick.

Yeah, I've been doing alot of reading today about this.
Looked into a "jig" but it's not even getting to the boot screen so I'm lead to believe this won't work.
Tried loading up through odin again but the program doesn't detect the phones even connected.
When the chargers plugged in, it doesn't even light up.
Reckon i'll give Samsung a go... what's the worst that could happen?
The exact same thing happened to me about 6 months ago, but I was just recently trying to fix it. The worst part is that you can't even access it from your computer and therefore you can't do anything. Let me know if you get it repaired, and how much it cost.

Morning Sean,
If I'm being honest, I never sent it. My friend dropped his i5500 and shattered the lcd so he bought mine for £20 ($35). Thats only $15 less than i paid for it, so i took the hit.
Reading the samsung repair document though they do say that if you can produce a valid proof of purchase and they cant detect any liquid or physical damage they will fix any mobile upto 24mths after purchase.
If you still have the receipt, it may be worth it.
Hope you get it fixed.
I was running my phone perfectly fine, and when I turned off the phone to replace the battery, it won't turn back on at all. The Samsung logo just loops repeatedly, and I can't get into Recovery mode at all. I can get into download mode, (sort of), by the conventional means, but when I press volume up to confirm download mode, I can't do so. The phone hangs for a second, and then restarts its self. Is this SDS? How do I get it fixed? I am in the USA, and I have a SGS III i9300. My phone information is below in my signature.

If it is sds, you wun be able to turn it on at all. Best if you can just send it to the service center for them to have a look.
Kernel problem maybe? Try a different one.
OK, it appears that I can get it into download mode if I run it off of USB power, and pull the battery as soon as I'm able to get into download mode. It will run in download mode if I keep the battery out, but as soon as I put a battery in with it plugged into a USB, it resets the phone. I was able to flash XXUGMK6_BTU onto the phone, but upon resetting the phone with the battery in it, it will not start. This is with both ZeroLemon batteries, and the stock Samsung battery.
Is there a way to fix this?

That's what I was afraid of. I called Samsung, and they said that I would have to send it to the UK in order to get it fixed. I would rather not have to send it halfway around the world for repairs if I don't have to.

I don't think it's that. Otherwise, how would it work running off of USB power? If the power button was stuck, I don't think it would run at all.
Sounds like a motherboard issue, double check that the battery connector pins are undamaged, but otherwise you need a new motherboard.

Well, $hit. That's what I was afraid of. It costs just as much to buy a new MB as it does to buy a new phone from what I've been able to find. It also costs almost as much to mail it off to UK as it does to buy a replacement SGS3. ($20 difference). Is there a cheap source for a new MB for the phone?
I can only boot into download mode if I pull the battery after I get into download mode, and run off of USB power. If I leave the battery in, I can't do anything in download mode, (such as confirm it), and it restarts in 5 seconds. Also, if I have the phone plugged in, and insert the battery, even the charge indicator bootloops.

No, the i9300 isn't a USA model and was never sold there, Samsung USA won't be able to do anything, probably won't even have any parts for it.
