According to the link above the build date for both is 14 August 2012 , so I doubt they offer anything more than we currently have available here. Also the front page of there website no longer lists HP as a compatible device.

A new kernel? Oh, thats always fun. But its JB only? Guess more waiting.

StockMod Rom Idea

Hi, a while back before I installed CyanogenMod on my device I was running a stock 2.2 rom on my rooted g5.
For the fun I decided to modify framework.apk to change the status bar and stuff like that, I also edited settings.apk to match and added some apps into system apps. Anyway my point is would anyone be interested in turning this into a custom rom? Would people want to flash it? The idea is to have all the stablity of stock with better looks and features. We could call it 'StockMod G5' or something. Good idea? Bad idea? Leave your comments below on what you think, it might be stupid I don't know
Ur just trying to make a custom rom based on stock!..its a good idea no doubt

Cm10.1 black unofficial by Swiperrat

Anyone who enjoys CM should really give this a try. It is very simple, has plenty of options, is very stable.

I think the question marks were more about the post....and same goes for me, so the whole point of the thread was to tell us to try that rom?

If someone likes cm. It is a nice rom. So yes try it. But there are many who like sense very much. But this is so fast compared to sense. I use TL kernel with it under clocked to 918. Still very fast.I also use trickster mod for kernel settings. It was simply a suggestion.

Yes thank you for this post. I don't see why recommending a rom in something like "general" chat would be questioned. But anyways, because of this post I'm now on this ROM and it's incredibly fast and stable.
I tried it but didn't like the gapps that came with it.

When i had it installed I had no issues. Now i'm on cm10.1 4.2.2, the one that comes with the xperia z launcher and acid audio engine. Can't remember the dev but it's in the android development forum.

Beastmode kernel or NOS-m7

Just trying to get the Kernel. From the NOS topic itself it gives a link that sends me to the "source" page. Do I just click on the zip file from there(on github) and it downloads Blackout-monarudo? But there's also a blackout-viverrin. Just not sure which one I'm supposed to get.
First time XDA poster, newly rooted loving the experience.

Got a ? About mako

I got a ? About mako I am on PAC ROM e970 at&t 4.4.2 from the PAC ROM site what kind kernel can I run on this phone

Do you have brothaedhung's PACman ROM ? If you do than I believe Matr1x, Matr1x-linaro, glitch & neighborhood kernel will work..I don't think the willy kernel will work
Sent from my LG-GEEB using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No I have the other PAC ROM it has me confused some time if my phone a mako because thats what it tells me in my bootloader am throw att I though geeb was att and mako was another my phone also tells me its e970 am just trying to find a kreanl that gos with this phone
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I believe it might of been brothaedhung who told me his bootloader also said mako. Yet he hadn't unlocked his BL...I'm not 100% sure about that info. Best person to ask is Ed himself...I know Ed's pacman ROM is compatible with the kernels I listed above your last comment. I'm not sure if the PACman ROM you mention is mako sourced or not

My bootloader says mako. I got the device from swappa. I'm guessing the user who last had my phone unlocked the bootloader. I had previously thought the guy had done the N4 conversion. I'm assuming now, that he didn't...just find ROMs you want to test out, BU the ROM in recovery and test & trial a kernel. If you have problems booting. You have an incompatible kernel to ROM .....just restore the ROM and try another kernel. I'm currently using the latest carbon ROM by math w/ w/e kernel he implemented into the release. I believe it might be a modified Matr1x kernel

With official E970 PAC builds you should be able to use kernels advertised as CM based. The two I can think of are neighborhoodhacker's and ronasimis willzyx. Both are posted in the original development forum.
I've never tried a CM/E970 ROM, so I can't say for certain they will work.
