So I enabled the navigation bar and set the navigation bar height to 37.0 dip just like you asked. Just use adb to push this to /system/framework then reboot and it should work

i have one you can use but i don't know which file to change in CM7 to make it transparent. does anyone know?
edit: nvm
It's in framework-res.apk SystemUI.apk, but I think you will need to edit some .9.png's...
isnĀ“t it in /system/app/SystemUI.apk
The background of the widget part is in Settings.apk; appwidget_bg.9.png
The other backgrounds are located in SystemUI.apk. The main part is shade_bg.png
Also the icons set in located in the SystemUI.apk

[Q] Hiding Navigation Keys

Hi there, noob question, just checking - is there any way to hide navigation keys and make the status bar transparent without the root? /I think not/. I'll do a root for this purpose if I have to, but could anyone please navigate me as what to do next? Don't want to go custom rom, so I guess once rooted I go for some app that hides the navigation keys and makes the status bar transparent? Sorry if this is really basic, don't have any experience with this.
Root needed

Ya you need to root your phone to hide the nav bar.
After you're rooted, use this app to configure which application you want to go fullscreen
Use this application to hide the nav bar on google play : Full!screen
When 4.4 is available for Sony Xperia Z Ultra, you can make the navigation bar and/or status bar transparent. Numerous launchers offer now the ability to hide the status bar. No root required.
You can do as I do. Use the Xposed module Tinted Statusbar. This is how my statusbar and navbar looks like.
Or you can use one of several other modules that also does the job just fine.

- Nova Launcher (Prime)

- Blurred wallpaper using "Blurone"
- Used "Tinted Statusbar" module for Xposed Framework to make the statusbar and navbar transparent.

You also need to provide your frameworks..
Gingerbread has been out for a LOOONG time. Have you search for guides and applied them?

You really don't need to link us with your System.UI,
You can modify the status bar with XBlast Tools with Xposed Framework (Assuming your rooted)
Here's the link for Xblast XDA thread...

changing position and size of individual nav bar button

Is there a way to change the size and position of the buttons in the nav bar individually? perhaps by editing a file?
i'm currently using an xposed module that has them scaled and sized evenly across the nav bar, but i want to change them manually to my liking.

To manually edit the navigation bar you need to modify the SystemUI.apk.
Another way is to install the Ultimate Dynamic Navbar app.

You can use another systemui that have arrow navbar icon for compare, just replace some png to your systemui, find it on drawable folder, no need to decompile because no xml and smali editing, just replace png. but sometimes the back arrow are look bigger than other. You can use Xplore file manager to open apk as zip.
Other than Xposed or SystemUI mods, don't think you can enable it. You can use the Google keyboard and while longpressing on the space bar, there's a feature that will allow you to slide the cursor around. Not sure exactly what you're looking to have the keys for...
