Stock roms don't work with the newer kernels that use new gpu libs.
Stock roms use old libs and this will show you how to get the kernels to work (Any DJ kernels on stock rom)
First you need to add these lines to your build.prop
debug.performance.tuning=1
video.accelerate.hw=1
persist.sys.use_16bpp_alpha=1
persist.sampling_profiler=0
ro.lge.proximity.delay=25
mot.proximity.delay=25
ro.secure=0
ro.debuggable=1
persist.service.adb.enable=1
persist.sys.use_dithering=0
persist.sys.purgeable_assets=1
persist.sys.shutdown.mode=hibernate
windowsmgr.support_rotation_270=true
debug.composition.type=gpu
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=400
dalvik.vm.verify-bytecode=false
iro.min_pointer_dur=1
Then reboot to recovery and flash this https://www.box.com/shared/nlmwiolop1p4nsscg87u
Then you are ready to flash your kernel of choice on stock rom!

Press thanks if it helped!
What is the use of this new gpu libs? What are the improved things in this version?where will I find build.prop?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
New libs for better stability and performance. (ALSO support for newer. 35 kernels) and build.prop is located under /system/build.prop

Does this work?
Hi guys! I m getting LG O1 and I really like the stock 2.3.3 rom but i've read that its not the best one for gaming and I am a gamer, so I really want to know if this would help me to flash any kernel on the stock rom? :fingers-crossed:
Yes you would be able to flash virtually any kernel on stock rom with this. As they now use the new gpu libs.
I would recommend flashing dj's 2.5.7 kernel on stock.
For gaming use vsyncoff. You will get better fps

Hi there,
I found a RAM optimisation script which makes the phone smoother and faster, but it can only be used with custom kernels which support init.d
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/the-best-ram-optimisation-script-for-android/
I'm currently on the 2.6.29-Zdzihu-mod3.51, [email protected] #1`Mon Jun 13 22:15:22 JST 2011. So my question is, does this kernel support init.d?
Edit: I think this topic can also be used to discuss and talk about the script and to report problems and the solutions

I've been using this script for about a week now.
I haven't seen much of a difference but it doesn't hurt either.
I am using Cob's GB MIUI, with Goro's 360mod kernel.
I am fairly certain though that even stock SE kernel supports init.d.
To see if your ROM/kernel supports init.d, get Root Explorer
and navigate to /system/etc. If a folder named init.d is there, you're good to go.

Included in my ROM since like 2 Months but with different Values Very nice tweaks
vm settings could be applied by sysctl.conf, which its supported even by stock kernel, and minfree settings applies by third party app - so there is no need for extra features from kernel side.
Okay just wanted to share my custom built stock ROM. I took the stock ROM and added some scripts I found. Some tweaks. Some themes. I just got tired of flashing all the damn time so I just went stock and loving it! Here is a pic of my battery life.

I'm going to run quadrant and post those too. If I knew how to zip up a Rom is share with you ll if u were interested.
Okay here are my quadrant scores.
I don't think I need to flash anything else.
Anyone know how I can zip this up to be flashed so I can share?
Also big thanks to:
Haux for base Rom
Gojimi for calibration hack
Steelh for the how to's
Freeza for the moded kernel
Juwe11 for the RAM optimization script
Zone for the taskbar icons
Not sure who I credit for the faster scrolling script, SD card speed script, and the phones timeout lag fix when incall script but once I find out I'll add them here as well.
Sent from my Beastly EVO.. And did I mention it has 3D?

Currently there are 3 custom kernels available for our Xperia S; Advanced Stock kernel, KA SSpeed kernel, and XSX kernel. Among them, KA SSpeed allows overclocking. I'm not sure about Advanced Stock kernel though. While XSX kernel doesn't allow yet overclocking.
Thanks, well after installing sspeed kernel I had very bad graphics defects all over the interface so I am now using advanced ics kernel... The latter is great and supports two way call recording....
Did anybody else have problems with the sspeed kernel???

Try version 1 of the speed kernel instead
Friends
I am using Sony live with walkman now 4.0.4 from last one year and I've used many ROMs like cm9, cm10, smart Xperia, aokp Rom,hasa miui,icecream pureness etc
But after using all ROMs what I found at last is that stock Rom is best among all as it is optimized as per your device hardware, all the functionality is running as smooth as cream,
I switched to custom Rom earlier because I have flashed custom rage kernel using flashtool in fastboot mode and though my mobile was rooted but it was freezing my handset frequently then I switch to custom Rom and hopped from Rom to Rom but At last I switch to stock Rom with kernel lupus,
To enhance my stock Rom I flashed some useful Mods in it using TWRP, like cybershot camera mod, notification toggles mod with reboot option,
Now it is running ok my live with walkman with some modification

We usually allow discussion about ROMs, where they are under development and can be improved by collaboration of users. Stock ROM can't be improved as it's closed sourced and have almost 0 chance to be better.
Also @OP - you're posting yet another useless thread and should know that your behavior doesn't remained unnoticed.
@ALL We do allow posting memes sometimes, but if you decide to do so, be sure that meme doesn't offend anybody, otherwise you might be infracted.
Thread cleaned and closed.

What's the difference between this and the rom+kernel thread

no im not going to compare kernels
but i just want to know if there is a suggested kernel for cm10
because the cm10 kernel drains battery

Hmmm....flash and test every kernel that is compatible with CM10....every kernel has it's own good and bad but mostly its depend on how you use your phone for daily basic....even the kernel that come from CM10 Roms can give you a good battery life if you use your phone of call and sms only
CM10 rom installed in my satsuma and using lupus kernel v3 (although it uses twrp). great rom and great kernel. still waiting for the v6 update (fix) of the lupus kernel which will have both cwm and twrp recoveries.
