I got stock ics and I'd like to skip my music tracks with the volume buttons is there a mod or a flashable zip?

what about using a different music app that allows skipping with volume buttons..I dont use this phone to play music...but I'm sure some apps allow this....
I know different keyboards allow you to use the volume buttons to move the cursor to the left or right..so I would assume its possible with a different music player

Back when I had a blackberry I loved the ability to adjust volume and skip tracks with the side up/down buttons. Even while the screen is off in sleep mode. All you had to do is hold either the up or down button to skip back or forward. Right now all we can do is adjust volume. Possibly maybe there is someone out there that can modify the player to do this also???? It was VERY convenient not having to wake up the phone and flip thru a couple screens just to select the next button. Im sure everyone out there would have to agree. Devs! Im counting on you to figure this one out!

Hi everyone!
I was wondering whether there was any way to get the option to use the volume buttons on the x8 to skip songs while the phone is screen is locked/off? I know about the lockscreen touch controls that are built in but it's a lot better with volume buttons.
Is it only a CM7 feature? Is there perhaps an app that can do it? I'm using froyobread v21...
Any help much appreciated! Thanks

as far as i see with both minicm and froyobread just leave the +button for the next song and the - for the previous one, didnĀ“t need to make something it's already built in

try to press and hold volume button while the screen is off..
It's a feature included in FroyoBread since "I don't remember when", hold the volume button for maybe 1' when lockscreen is on... I've just done it : it works.
Is there any fm radio app in which i can change stations from headset button?

I don't think there are such apps since FM radio isn't used by much people
but an app like this would be nice since I listen very often to the radio
i never listen to the radio over the internet but always FM. so yes i would indeed like it if there was such an app. could be very convenient.
Well most of custom roms remove fm apps and some of them have non-working ones.So really need to have it
Thanks for ur reply people. Its good to see there are others who feel like me
Guess we would have to wait until someone who knows replies! !!

Is there a way to link the ringtone and notification volumes? Or is there an easier way to adjust notification without hunting through settings each time? With cm7 these two were linked in fact I think it its line that in an aosp ROM.

Not to thread jack, but in a related issue...
When I play pandora and output to a set of external speakers via the headphone jack, I must turn the media volume level all the way up for the speakers to play at a reasonable level...
After awhile, the volume just decreases... I try pressing the volume UP key but there is a message that says something to the effect of "playing at high volume for extended time can damage hearing." Is there a way to disable the message and volume attenuation that occurs from playing media files at highest volume for extended time... I searched through the settings and googled this but nothing comes up...

Looking for a solution to this too... I wasn't sure if this was an option stock or not, I guess not. I'm running unnamed and was going to suggest it to gtg, once I get enough posts to post in that forum
You can long press on your home screen and add shortcut, settings, then sounds.
It's not exactly a no effort way, but it will make adjusting the volume quicker.

Haven't run into that problem myself. But there are a few apps on the market that can boost audio volume to your headphone Jack.

Download the app called "quick settings" it allows you to link them in its volume control section of the app. That's how I link them.

Thanks, I might check that out, although I'd prefer not to have an app to do this.
Are there any headset where it is possible both to change the volume and change tracks ?

I've seen some physical designs, HTC makes some.
I recommend this, but in newer Jellybean roms Google captures long clicks.

+1 with the ones that are come with the phone, while playing music you press the one with no + or - on it 1 time to pause and 2 times to go to the next track
Should work with any kind of music player as far as i know.
